Crappy Morning...
What part of it failed? I've had the rods come unscrewed before and have always been able to screw the rod back on.. But you get that "awe crap" feeling for a few seconds!

UDC Pro is here for 03-07 5.9's!!!
300 mile tow yesterday. Much of the drive was at 70-72 and I really like how it drives. No real change in mileage over the previous trip on this road, but the truck is much smoother and much better overdrive power on the hills. I am certainly down a little peak hp based on the lack of the pilot (based on a little more load than normal), but it all runs a fair amount cooler on EGTs. Even at 5000' and 75° I peak out at 1200° in 6th WOT at 2000 rpms. I haven't decided if I'll add any fuel back or not. I'm not sure I need that much power in 6th and its rather nice not needing to watch the pyro in 6th as much. Flat ground at 72, just over 2000 rpms, is about 40% load, 1000°, and 12 psi. All numbers I am quite happy with. Thats just the camper, not quads, and about 17.5-18K GCW.

Teardown and Rebuild
AFIK the 5100's are the more HD shock but not specifically valved for the Dodge trucks. The yellow/blue ones, IIRC, are specifically valved but a lighter duty shock.

What's the deal with 12v prices?
I still see trucks similar to mine for sale for what I paid for it 9 years and 115K miles ago!!! The 6.7 and emissions scares are what are driving the 5.9 prices up and up. Something is always worth what someone will pay for it, even if that someone is spending too much. As for shocks I think bilstien is the way to go. They have been a great shock with an empty bed and with 8K on the rear axle. I personally gave up on rancho long ago. Based on the many sets I ran, stupid kool-aid, they are the most overpriced hunks of junk I have ever used. I never did run them on my Dodge, as I learned my lesson before then, but I have ran them on several other 2500 series vehicles as well as mini-trucks.

2016 Silverado Mileage
Of the 3 rigs I own the worst is off by 2%. The Dodge may have been more but I have been running a Smarty, of some sort or another, since the beginning of 2008 and generally have my odometer ±0.5%. I always verify the accuracy of my odometer and not speedometer. I have always found the speedometers to read fast even if the odometer is on. I try to forget how much so I don't speed as fast :-) Last month I did 1100 miles in the truck in one day and was within 0.2% GPS to truck... but I have swapped tires since and haven't gone far enough to do a good check thou it looks like I am still within 0.5%. I verified the error in my Jetta this weekend. In 800 miles it was always 2% slow of the GPS, i.e. at 100 miles on the Jetta the GPS showed 102.00. It was as dead on 2% as I could tell to the odometer; however the speedometer was a 3rd number. At 80 mph on the speedometer the GPS showed 78-79 and the odometer was recording as if I was doing 76-77.

IIRC OEM speedometers only have to be ±10%!!! At least that's what Toyota told me when I told them ours was a little off.

Why delete the AFM? The couple of vehicles I have driven with it were flawless and smooth.

Injector Maintenance/Cleaning
The new quad tuning should help those with emission testing as would UDC Pro.

Out of curiosity did you check out the ecodiesel at all? 200lbs doesn't seem too far off of what I would guess.

Teardown and Rebuild
Looks good! Do those 4th gen wheels have a weight rating anywhere on them?

NV4500 and 50 SAE GL-4 Synthetic Trans Fluid
HAHAHA.... yeah that's completely it
-
NV4500 and 50 SAE GL-4 Synthetic Trans Fluid
About what I expected considering your hell bent on running the wrong fluid :-) You're far too predictable when it comes to bucking the flow. You can keep trying to make this look good but it's far from it. You still call it a GL-4 which really, really doesn't make it look good when its clearly NOT. The delta temp data is HUGE. In 4th the fluid is doing very little to protect any gears as there isn't any load on the gear. As soon as you place a load on the gears the temp went WAY up.. that's NOT good. I'm all for looking at new things; however, don't skew the data, or specs, to suit your needs. It's always fun to watch people ignore the facts to push their opinions.

Need Towing Trans
That's my take on it too. It sure would be nice thou!

Oil Filter
$289 for a 35µ filter!!!! Hahaha... What a joke.

Need Towing Trans
It's normal. This is a note from the owners manual. NOTE: If the vehicle has not been driven in several days, the first few seconds of operation after shifting the transmission into gear may seem sluggish. This is due to the fluid partially draining from the torque converter into the transmission. This condition is normal and will not cause damage to the transmission. The torque converter will refill within five seconds of shifting from Park into any other gear position.

NV4500 and 50 SAE GL-4 Synthetic Trans Fluid
Like I said before.... you can pick it apart to death supporting your theory but the data isn't bad.

I'm a pro... and need more than 1

NV4500 and 50 SAE GL-4 Synthetic Trans Fluid
The biggest thing I see is the temperature delta between 3rd and 4th. In 3rd your using gearing reduction and have more friction. Even with the coolers and exhaust wrap his delta was MUCH smaller than yours... not looking at actual temp, just the delta. The SAE 50 had a very large delta when the gears had the load vs direct and the GL-4 NV4500 spec'd fluid did not. That's my point. You said it yourself, in caps, MUCH COOLER... KATOOM didn't have that delta. I would like to see a more direct comparison for peak temps but the delta temp data cannot be thrown out here.

Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
VERY VERY common in the HPCR world. It allows someone to use big enough injectors at high rpms to keep the injector open time down and the timing not too extreme and still drive it easily at partial throttle. Turning down the fuel on custom tuning is crucial to good drivability.
-
NV4500 and 50 SAE GL-4 Synthetic Trans Fluid
You can pick apart all the differences but the bottom line is a truck with more weight, more drag, and higher ambient temps had a smaller delta in 4th to 3rd gear. That's quantifiable.

Strange boost bumped up with higher EGT's.....
A hot turbine is a more efficient turbine; however, it shouldn't be that noticeable or sudden. What was the coolant temp doing? Could a ECT change have caused a timing/fueling change?
-
Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 Testing
That makes sense. I haven't found a us reference table in Pro but that could just be what quad is doing. Turn your brothers pressure up and his duration down :-) 24-26K and 2500-2700us will likely make similar power with better timing and lower EGTs.

Brake lites stay on when hot.
still very interesting since these PS pumps are known to build pressure.
