  1. Ok. After adding turbo I lost cold air. Was wondering if I bumped a line or just coincidence. I hooked my gauges up and was showing around 20 psi on low side. So I added 1 can. Now when engine off I am at 70 psi on low side ... And 75 psi high side. If I turn engine on it cycles between 20-40 low side and compressor always on/ off quite frequently .I want to add another can so I can try and detect my leak - but is it safe given the 70 psi when engine shutoff ??? Thx
  2. thats so cool - man that turbo looks BADAZZ Can't wait to hear to the results - how much boost you planning/expecting ?
  3. Before you rush out and buy anything - check a few things ......when in 4x4 is your front drive shaft engaged ? When your in 2HI - is it disengaged (mine wasn't) - just put it in 2H and rotate the shaft with handsMine actually turned out to be the vacuum actuator on top of the transfer case was not allowing the shift forks to move -> so they couldn't engage/spline properly the 4WD and front axle.ISX had to replace my actuator ($20) and CAD (thing it was like $90) ........... So didn't pick up if you had the CAD mechanism ....... but if you do you might want to do a couple more checks first ....... IS will explain it more/better - so wait for him
  4. That boy aint ever failed on anything 12v related Keep going hard fella That wiring and sheathing looks nice
  5. Hey Jim Good point There are other ways around it tho ........ 1) Do you have enough fuel to even push the turbo above 35-40psi ......... on a XZT+ and stock injectors you will probably struggle - but for others yes 2) Set you QUAD/JUICE to defuel at said PSI I have my QUAD to defuel at 40 PSI and it works very quickly/accurately everytime I probably trust it just as much as my mechanical boost (wastegate open) elbow at this point. just some more thoughts/options but good point - the commercial ones do give you that benefit
  6. Basically as per this picFind the wastegate head and get the hook on one side of it (on teh TAB).THENget the other hook at the other end of the wastegate - near the C-CLIPthen TIGHTEN.You need to "feel it" as you can't really see it as its under the turbo and flange Not as easy as it looks - take your time
  7. By feel You could do it if you had someone underneath looking up ....... to help guide But easiest is feeling the parts in the original diagram and hooking onto it and tighten down
  8. Yeah sorry - would have posted more but it was late at night. ISX gave you everything though ........ and he's the man to speak with if you get a little deeper and its something else - he fixed mine Only cause it can be 1 of about 5 parts - but bridging the switch will show you if its working (console light).
  9. Right on axle.... front right .....
  10. Just one more thought as often the simple stuff overlooked .... Probably a fuel/prime issue .... But checked your batteries ?
  11. yeah ........ I was thinking you meant a gasser - and I was like wholly crappolly - those a big numbers - especially for torque makes sense
  12. Wow400/800thats pretty close to diesel engine numbers now ................ previously you coud hit the HP but never the torque.hmm
  13. No - but Jacob is a good guy - I would only ever deal with him or Jamie at cpp ;)
  14. WHAT !! you could have been my new PHX phone a friend since I left MO (was around 2 hours from ISX ) Yeah - will have to play around it with it a bit more -- any thoughts on the EGT observations ?? You got your toys on yet ?
  15. Woo Hoo - well the 40 is on Took a LOT longer and a LOT harder than I thought.Mainly due to losing the elbow (its a 4" flange) - ....... I added 4 1"2 inches to the HX40 DP after last week ..... welded .... then when I put it on - it was too much .... couldn't seat it all the way back .... and after struggling 2x for 2 hours ..... had to cut 2" off. After that got her in ...... but its tight and HEAVY t do by yourself - really could have used a friend (ISX come to to PHX plz). That BAND clamp is hard also - I had about 1/4" out trying to mate the back of the turbo and the DP. Eventually I just cranked on it and it pulled it together as again the DP was too tight once it was seated to move - phew 6 hours all told. If the measurements on DP would have been correct - probably 3.Anyway - took it for a spin after a shower .......... just gone dark .... initital observations Pulls a lot harder. Quite noticeable over 20 psi.Only took to around 32 psi.Only a SMALL amount of lag ....... but suprisingly little from having gone from a 9 EH to a 16.EGT's - this was the suprising bit ....... not sure I could notice ANY difference. If anything it may have been slightly higher ...... I kinda expected that under 10PSI .......... but not at around ~20-30. Will have to monitor more tomorrow. All in all - a pretty good upgrade for what the cost ~ $600-$700.
  16. Common fella ...... get the cameras ready Make sure you yell " WHo's Your Daddy" as you go over the redline !!!
  17. Cool thxDidn't think of the high perssure swich.I stopped at ~ 30 on low side ...... just cause the high side was concernng me ....... and that was at 850rpm (idle).
  18. You guys rock !!!!! Got the turbo on ..... will update in the turbo post Thanks for the updates guys ! Very useful.
  19. This bit Never taken the belt off before - believe it or not Whats to be done to loosen it and then tighten it ? Just a tensioner and lossen - and then slip off ?? And reverse for putting it on ? thx boss
  20. I may need to do this to get my exhaust back in with new downpipe (long story). Never done before... how hard and what's the process?
  21. How about high side ? This was my pressure at idle ... Not 1500 ..... And I started getting nervous .....Still blowing 49 which is ok .... Never found a leak with backlight
  22. Hx40 goes in this weekend with a 4.5" extension now welded to my dp.He351cw arrived... Needs a little cleanup ...,, but will run the 40 1st and update ;)
  23. Any codes ?Any fuel pressure readings ? SO motor and NEW SO vp44 ?
  24. Only time that happened to me was straight after my install - I was effectively in limp mode. You could still drive teh truck - but taking off in 1st (actually 2nd or 3rd I forget) was sluggish. So basically the TC was really heating up that ATF ..... and sensors started playing ping pong. For me - I had to replace the VB with a new one the company shipped. Then it was a-ok. But I would think if you are facing that you would definately feel it taking off. Also if you have a QUAD/EDGE JUICE they come with a tranny sensor you plug into the test port on tranny. Gives you readings of the fluid temp to watch rather than witing for the OEM console warning light - which seems to come on pretty high.
  25. Man why do live so far away have fun !!!
