  1. That's awesome Dynamic! If you end up producing some more of your 'fix' please let me know! I'm glad to hear there's not anything wrong with the trans, but if I could clean up that shift point it'd be great!
  2. Well turns out my fluid is brown! so needless to say, I'll be doing a power steering flush in the near future! Mike didn't there used to be an article on that around here? I couldn't find it.
  3. Bah, don't tell me that! When I bought this truck I was half tempted to sell the tool box that came with it, but now it's sorta grown on me and I've been thinking that exact same thing! What if I need to help someone out?! I can just keep all that stuff back here! Yea, great idea!
  4. So, I got 35in tire probs (yea boohoo I know) which I love the look of, but hate the aftermath aka crap all over the truck! Don't get me wrong, it definitely ups my street cred and makes me look like I'm a total mudder off roader, but I'd rather actually go do that purposely instead! Anyways, I have a good 3-5in (just from memory and eyeballing) of tire hanging outside of my fender. I'm not a fan of flares so that's out of the question. I've seen the duraflaps, proflaps and all the other pretty expensive ones. Anyone have any other ideas? Or can post pics of their home made flaps? Oh and also...
  5. Man looks nice! So when are you going to start accepting orders?!
  6. Have you thought about running the 3 gauge pod on top the dash? If I was in your position I think that's what I'd do, but I don't like the look of it by itself.
  7. Jeez how often do you need to lube things up?! lol
  8. I'll either have to go snag a pic of the 99 or just take a new pic once I get the new gauges in the 02! I thought my setup was busy but you got me beat! What's the gauge in the very top right?
  9. Nice, do you guys have a link to the one from harbor freight? Also, is there a one stop shop for grease on these trucks? I assume a multipurpose would work right? There's not like specific grease for certain parts right?
  10. How do you adjust the cable?
  11. Alright, well that's good to hear then. I guess I just need to adjust my driving a little bit, which is no big deal. I literally just get on the pedal just enough to get the truck moving forward. People behind me must hate me! But I'm just trying to milk to gas mileage. Anyways, I'll definitely just get on it a little more when it comes around those speeds. Around town I usually drive around with O/D off anyways so it's not that big a deal.
  12. What grease guns are you guys using? I need one but don't know if I should just get the cheapy one from walmart or if it'd be worth shelling out a bit more for something higher quality. I've heard of horror stories about people trying to grease some of the fittings on these trucks.
  13. Any update on this!? I want a shirt!
  14. Alright well if it's red, I'm going to have to tackle this another day. If it's not, I'm just going to add some and call it good for now.
  15. So it looks like I'm low on power steering fluid. Ran down to WalMart and got the supertech (they only had the leak blocker stuff) and was going top off the reservoir, but thought, what if the PO used ATF? Is just dumping the reservoir and refilling good enough? Or should I take off the return line and keep putting in fluid, turning the wheels and then call it good?
  16. Have you tried just pushing and moving the gauge wires around while stopped to see if you can replicate the problem? I understand that it seems like it's only happening while building boost, but that may just be a coincidence to what's actually happening. I'd leave power applied and push and move wires and the gauge around to see if it happens again. It's just hard to think that the pyro would stop reading while building boost, there's no real correlation between the two ya know?
  17. Alright will do. For now, it doesn't seem to be causing issues, it was just something I noticed when scanning the truck at start up. Maybe it just hasn't had enough key cycles to clear itself and it will go away soon enough? I'll update as necessary Hey Mike, saw this pic you posted in the article regarding the 0500 code Should I check that fuse? Or pull it and that would reset the CEL that's being thrown? Was just trying to figure out what the pic was for in relation to the write up.
  18. Yup, got to be a connection touching something it shouldn't. Same thing happened on mine after install, every once in a while the pyro gauge would be dead. Finally found that one wire where I had spliced into wasn't completely covered. I moved it away and covered it up and it hasn't been back since.
  19. Ok I think I'm tracking. Just to make sure, when you say tps, you just mean more throttle?
  20. What would you suggest checking then Mike?
  21. Yup! That's exactly the way it's happening. Seems weird though right? That's why I was like
  22. Alright guys so wanted to start a new thread about my transmission on the 02. I'm not even sure this is an actual issue, but being that the trucks new to me, I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth worrying over or not. So if it seems like I'm chasing nothing, I'm not trying too, just want to verify it's nothing before I ignore it and move on and it turns out to be a bigger issue I could've prevented. So, what's happening is when driving with O/D on, the truck will engage 3rd gear lock up around 38-40mph, then as speed gets up to 45ish, the trans seems to shift into 4th and attempt to lockup all within like a 1/2 second (and a slight jerky feeling) and then resume back to normal unlocked 4th gear pulling, then around 50ish it'll lock up 4th and everything's good. I drive like a gramps (if I haven't already made that clear in the past haha) so I'm not sure if I'm just not accelerating fast enough and I'm just confusing the trans. I don't know if it's the bigger tires. It seems to only happen when I'm going up an incline accelerating fairly slowly, or on flat ground accelerating the same. It also seems to be far less noticeable if I'm accelerating quicker, or going down hill. It's almost like the truck gets confused about which gear to be in and whether or not to lock up or not but only during the conditions stated before. Is this anything to worry about? Is it really just my driving style and certain conditions that are causing this or should I look into something further? Thanks in advance guys!
  23. Yea I'm not trying to over think it for sure. I was just confused to whether it was a legitimately thrown code since it only shows the code before the engines started, then once started, the scan gauge will say it's free of codes.
  24. Yea I get it for sure, I just tend to snob out when it comes to 'factory' fluids. Do the same thing on my dirt bike, damn KTM recommends motorex so I pony up and spend the extra, even though I know there's perfect substitutes for cheaper, I guess it's just more piece of mind!
  25. Sorry, I just meant is that the stuff that's recommended in the FSM? I don't want to start the brand war, that's for sure.
