  1. I hear ya! Nothing on these trucks are cheap! I have a gauge combo from Vulcan sitting in the garage about to get put in my truck. This is my second one I've bought from Eric and it's always a quality product backed up by excellent customer service.
  2. To me, it just works. It comes with its own software that has more then enough stuff for you to mess with and customize. To me, a lot of times there's a reason that stuff is more expensive then the others. That's not to say that the "$15 cheapies" wont serve the purpose, but they're cheap for a reason. Just my opinion, YMMV
  3. I suppose it depends what you're definition of cheap is, but I use THIS. I know @Mopar1973Man is a fan of that setup as well and has good results, as have I.
  4. It looks like there's screws on there. I'll do some more investigating when I put my gauges in. If it is exchangeable, I might just pull it out of my 99 and swap them.
  5. Sorry that last post was confusing. I have the dark grey interior. But I'm looking for the piece that those part numbers will attach too. Not the fuse box door but the part that the fuse box door snaps into. That make sense?
  6. I have a FASS 150 titanium sitting in my garage right now waiting to go on my rig!
  7. Nice, I'll keep that in mind. How'd install go? I'm not to sure how I feel about drilling through frame.
  8. damn, sorry to hear that you're dealing with all this. Always bums me out to hear people having hard to find issues on these trucks
  9. Just out of curiosity, what's the history of the truck? Have you owned since new? Has the previous owner done anything hard or anything to put extra strain? It seems to weird to me that some trucks never have issues and others have these 'ghost' problems. Just trying to come up with some sort of correlation.
  10. Well son of a b! Can't believe I didn't see that! Thanks man! Do you happen to know if the part that the fuse cover (piece 10) has a part number? Or is interchangeable? Mine got holes drilled all over it so I'm looking to replace it for the non honey comb look
  11. I'm looking at getting the BD end links fro DAP, they seem pretty solid. btw, how long did it take to the get DOR track bar?
  12. Is there no parts numbers for the knee kick panel areas? I've searched through this multiple times and couldn't find part numbers or anything.
  13. Well parts for my fuel and gauges are trickling in here over the next couple of days, I just need to get this tank of fuel closer to E before I attempt to drop it. I've been doing some thinking about my suspension/steering upgrades to come, what's everyone's thoughts on the Lukes Links? They seem pretty durable and easily adjustable? I know everyone preaches to put a brand a 3rd gen track bar or one from DOR or something but they're not without their flaws either and are 400+ so makes me second guess a bit. I was really thinking of going Lukes Links, new upper/lower ball joints, new steering stabalizer, BD end links, Bilstein 5100's and of course steering box stabilizer. Am I missing something? Could/should I go another route with something?
  14. Radiator is a month old! The PO took it in complaining about lack of heat so the shop replaced his radiator/thermostat, go figure. Anyways, I'm sure it was pretty clogged up because things were pretty messy down there prior to the cleaning. The crankcase vent mod is coming soon! Can't let things get messy again!
  15. Mike, what size tubing and approximate lengths did you use? I think that'd be a nice addition to this article!
  16. Yea I bet haha! Honestly the degreaser worked really well, it was just really hard to get the pressure washer wand under the hood to spray it down good haha
  17. My 99 has 100% stock tranny with 178k, never touched other then routine maintenance. No slipping, tq still locks up nice. Goes to show if you go easy on these things they'll last a good long while with stock components.
  18. Alright well I got the chance to get things cleaned up a bit today. Even though it was pretty rainy (in the PNW?! Go figure!) I just assumed it'd make cleaning up and excess in my driveway that much easier. I did go through and apply dielectric grease to every plug I could find and get unhooked. I know I missed some but they weren't in the direct line of fire so I'll get those later at some point. I plan on just applying some grease every time a connector comes off and eventually they'll all be done. Here's what I used Here's some before And the finished project Sorry some of the pics are blah, they're from my phone! Overall I'm really happy with the results, definitely will make this a routine thing, especially since I didn't get everything cleaned up like I would've liked. Either way I'm a happy camper!
  19. 02 QCLB 4x4 auto, 172k, 2in leveling kit on 35's
  20. Sounds good, I'm planning on getting this done tomorrow. I'll try and do some before and after pics.
  21. Yea I got a cheapy spray bottle so figures I'd give it a good spray down, let sit, then bust out the pressure washer and go to town. As far as the dielectric grease, anywhere/plugs that should be paid specific attention too? Do you unplug and apply the grease or just cover over the plugs?
  22. Fass has a plug in for a heater, don't most other brands have the same?
  23. @Mopar1973Man This the purple stuff you're using? http://www.homedepot.com/p/ZEP-128-oz-Industrial-Purple-Degreaser-ZU0856128/100047759
  24. Nice to see this kind of post since most are typically because of a problem! I drove mine on a 1000 mile trip and put on a gauge on it right after only to find out I had 0 pressure the whole time! Really drives home the importance of a fuel pressure gauge on these trucks!
  25. I'll do that. We talking a fully warm engine?
