What to do?!
So Mike when it says 33/50/67% of stock fuel til whatever psi, what is that saying? Another 24v is going to happen at some point in the future, just not sure how soon, and I'd rather not make it sooner because i cooked my working one! Haha It's an auto so even more reason to be careful with a box on it. Honestly I just want a little more pep for daily driving, but with the ability to get more if/when I upgrade fuel system and trans. I drive the thing like a grandpa anyways so really just some extra help when merging and stuff would be awesome!

What to do?!
I'm definitely not opposed to the comp, I'm just afraid of doing damage to my stock trans or stock VP with the comp. That's why the EZ seems appealing since nothing is tapped to the VP and it just controls timing, right? Are the lower modes on the comp comparable to the higher modes on the EZ? Are the water leaks a cause of just heat cycles? I can't imagine water making its way to it from the road or the hood.

What to do?!
That's good to hear Mike. Brakes were replaced probably 5k ago, but I'd have to check reciepts to be exact. I guess I'll just go until something starts to change, then address from there. Mike I know your an edge comp guy but for someone like me with a stock trans and not looking to mod further like injectors and such, is the edge EZ fairly "safe" if you can even use that term when it comes to modding?

KDP?!
Bah!! Well this is definitely not what I was hoping to hear! Ive seen the article on it, is it that tough a fix? I'm not the worlds best mechanic but I'm fairly inclined.

The time has come to produce the Mopar1973Man High Idle & MPG fooler switches again.
Yea no problem! It's still hard to believe that no one that's in CF or here has a smarty and is close by! I see so many everyday! Haha

What to do?!
Yea stuff up front like bearings, steering and u joints were the first things I was thinking of going through. I don't think my steering is to bad, never experienced death wobble or anything. What all typically gets replaced or worn up front? I'm all stock so I'm sure it could use a freshing up! What at do you think about throwin an EZ on there with my current setup?

What to do?!
So as some of you may know, I was looking for a new truck, well that fell through so for now, I'm sticking with the ol faithful 2wd! Anyways, I'm creeping closer to 180k and was just wondering. What should I be looking to upgrade/replace/service all those sorts of things. My sig is up to date with what I have currently. I'd like to upgrade to a fuel boss just for peace of mind but other then that, what should I be looking to do to maintain reliability? Thanks in advance!

KDP?!
So is it just that some came with the cover or with it pinned already and some didn't?

KDP?!
So I thought I had this figured out, but is the KDP an issue on the 24valvers?! I've seen a kit fix for it on some website, but couldn't find one on genos, vulan or anywhere else. I thought this was only an issue on the 12v

I'm up on Whidbey Island so just the local dealership here. They seemed to not really have an idea of how to do it, but they figured it out. Somehow it took them a while to realize they needed to update the ECU to the latest version in order for them to enable the high idle. They charged 90 bucks -_- I feel it would've taken less then 30 minutes had they actually known what they were doing, which would've cost 55, but they got the extra outta me, which I was thrilled about. Last year was pretty bleak, but I've heard talks of it being pretty calm this year as well since its an El Nino year an all, but we'll see

Cold Morning Rountines
Although I don't see temps below 0 and rarely even below 32* I still plug in and run 3cyl high idle any time I'm going to drive to work in the morning and the temp is going to be below 40. This is mainly because my drive to work takes less then 10 minutes so I can't rely on the drive to get her completely warm so doing what I can, pre-drive, to get things as warm as possible is what I see as the best thing for me. Obviously as you can tell by the replies, everyone's routine and take on this is different.

No smarty here =\ I had to suck it up and take it to the dealership. They had "no clue why you'd want to just run it on 3cyl, it'd run like ****!" but they got it done so I didn't stick around to try and educate haha! I think even last night we were getting close to 32 so I imagine it'll be a cooler winter this year. I'd love to hit the slopes this year so the more snow the better!

Great looking install Sleezy! Being in Vancouver your idea of cold and mine must be different! haha I think it gets plenty cold to use 3cyl, but I also want to try and warm the truck up as quickly as possible as a lot of my trips are short.

Looking for a new truck
Haha man that's a good video! Haven't seen it before. So just as I was about to give up I saw this http://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/5311745951.html which is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. My only reservation right now is its a 53 block. From what I know, heavy towing in mountain roads is what's caused cracks on 53s but that can't be the rule of thumb, right?! I currently have a 53 but I know the truck has never pulled or done any heavy towing so it should be fine. I've also heard that if the blocks going to crack it typically happens before 150k but how true can that be?! If you guys have any other insight into this, please let me know. I like this truck and he's got the majority of must do things already done and the price?? Seems like a fair asking price. Thoughts?

Lift pump probs?!
So I'm not entirely sure if this is even an issue or not but it is something I've noticed. It first came to my attention after installing the high idle mod, although I can't say for certain that's what caused it, or if that's when it started. Anyways, my issue is that I no longer get a 'prime' when turning the key and waiting for the WTS light to go out. Before I would turn the key, hear the pump prime for about 5 seconds, or just long enough to build to about 15-17psi and then cut off, shortly after the WTS light would extinguish and I'd fire her up. I'm not sure if it's just getting colder outside so its harder to prime or what. I did bump it and it ran through the typical phase of priming for 30-45 seconds or whatever it is. No noticeable drops in PSI across the driving spectrum. I know the obvious fix is to get rid of my 'junk' lift pump, which will probably be replaced with a fuel boss soon, but for the time being, is there anything else I can check? Or is it even an issue? ***EDIT*** I think I've solved my own problem, should've done some more reading before posting! I forgot I just had my truck flashed to enable high idle so that's probably why my lift pump only 'primes' for a second or so now. If I'm off track on this and it could be something else, please let me know!

Looking for a new truck
Yea very true. I've been looking around for a new truck for quite a while and just haven't found one that fits what I'm looking for, or my budget, so I think I may have to put a new truck on hold. In the meantime I'll just end up throwing more money at my current rig and just that as an experiment so when I get the truck I really want it should be a breeze!

Looking for a new truck
Yea that's what I thought too, truck looks nice, but for some reason the post threw me off. I think I'll keep looking

Looking for a new truck
I guess I'm not necessarily opposed, I think I just prefer the 2nd gens. Plus, I'm hoping to keep the price down as much as possible. Ideally I'd like to have the motor sent off to have a complete rebuild, along with the tranny. Obviously that would be much further down the road, but just to give you an idea of what I'm thinking. I will look into some 3rd gens though

Looking for a new truck
Well I've been looking to upgrade from my 2wd short box to a 4x4 long box. With that, there brings up some things that I don't know a lot about so hoping I can use everyone's knowledge here to help me out! So ideally looking for a 2nd gen 4x4 long box with a manual trans. - The pros/cons between auto and a 5/6 speed? and with this pros/cons between the 94-98 and 98.5-02? - Any pros/cons between the 12v and 24v? I'm much more familiar with the 24v since that's what I currently have so I feel more comfortable wrenching on that, but is it much different on the 12v? I know the weak points of the 24v trucks being the lift pump, injection pump, poss high A/C currents on alternators and I've read a couple on the 12v (primarily the 5th gear something or another?) but are there any other things I should look for? I feel like they're pretty similar, and from what I've seen there are some decent options on the 12v side, but just want to make sure I know what I'm getting into if I go the 12v route. Thanks in advance! Matt
