Still here!
Hey everyone! Just wanted to throw up a quick thread to apologize for my absence around here! Things have been really hectic the last few months! In a good way though! My wife and I found out were having our first baby, we bought a house and I got a promotion at work so all in all, I can't complain! Anyways, I'm going to do my best to catch up with things here, and definitely try and make it around these parts more often. Matt

Diamond eye exhaust
Hey Josh, Without getting under the truck, I think I used 4-5 clamps. Granted I didn't add a resonator on mine so that would probably add 1-2 more for you. Also, if you have a long bed it could add some more as well. The diamond eye is very DIY in the sense that the directions don't give much direction (go figure) so one exhaust system on the same truck could be done a handful of different ways and still be done 'correctly'. Sorry if this is a bit vague! I used the ones from my local NAPA and so far they've held up fine far as I know. I don't have any regrets on it. I'm now to the point where I don't even think the truck is that loud anymore. I remember the first month or so it was like man this things loud! But, I've either gotten used to it or I'm already loosing my hearing! If I were to install this exhaust again I would DEFINITELY get it on jacks or something to get it up off the ground, as that was the worst/hardest part of the install for me! Anyways, I'm sure you'll enjoy and let us know how it goes or if you have any other questions I'll do my best to help out!

Lift pump fail
I think come this October when I get a little extra cash I'm going to pull the trigger on the fuel boss. My current LP is getting the job done now but I have zero confidence in it over the long run. Glad you got yours up and running!

Most miles on factory original VP injection pump?
Curretnly 171xxx on mine and still going! Keeping it between 15-19psi most times and running 2cycle through her every tank!

Vibration at speed
Sorry for the delayed reply fellas, been swamped lately! So just so you guys know I'm only 2wd (if that changes anything) and I'm not too savvy on how to check most of the stuff you guys are suggesting checking! John, what's cupping? Would I just be better off dropping it off at the shop and having them give it the once over? I know that's not ideal (especially with this group! ) but I'm not that great when it comes to this kind of work on vehicles!

Vibration at speed
Not sure if this is the correct area to put this, sorry if it is Mike Anyways, just want to get your thoughts on what I have going on. Between 40-50mph I'm getting some vibration which I'm thinking is a tire balance issue? It's almost like I'm going over a whole bunch of small bumps in the road, but that's not it because it happens everywhere that I'm between 40-50mph. It's nothing violent and doesn't effect the steering or anything, but it is annoying. Should I check anything else?

New CCW
Nice! When you get it out to the range you'll have to let us know how you like the Buffalo Bore! I ended up going with the Springfield XD mod2 in .45! I held most of the guns I had on my list, others they didn't have. The mod2 felt the best in my hand and while a little larger then the rest, still felt like it was concealable enough for my liking. Time will tell with that though! Anyways, I'm excited to get it out to the range!

New CCW
You may be right, I think it's going to be one of those things where I just need to get one, wear it, and it either works or it doesn't. If anything that's just another reason to buy another gun!!

New CCW
I agree as well, the main thing you need to do is be able to hit the intended target, so whether that's with a .380 or .45 it doesn't matter, as long as it hits what it's supposed to hit! I'm not the kind of guy that NEEDS to carry the biggest gun out there just to meet my ego, I'm looking at it from the idea that most these guns are millimeters different between them, so really it's take your pick on what you want. The thing with these modern guns to is that most are so advanced they make shooting the big stuff feel a whole lot different then it did in years past. I wish I was able to shoot them all before I bought to help me decide but no shops or ranges around here have that available to me. Either way I'm sure I'll be happy with what I get because it's really splitting hairs.

We might have different opinions on what a CCW is and is not, which is fine! As far as the .380, I wanted to run a bigger size for concealed carry, not to say anything bad about the round, just my personal preference to run a 9mm or larger. I'm looking into the XD mod.2! looks like they took what was so great about the XD and tweaked and improved on some bits and made it a little better! Good to hear yours has treated you well for so long! Both very true points. It's hard to say though when talking about when you would utilize a concealed weapon, that most engagements would most likely be within 10-15ft before you realize that it would necessary for you to have to use your gun. Now, if your walking down the street and some guy is running full speed screaming bloody murder at you, its definitely safe to say that if that guy is within 21ft, any joe some (myself included) would have a tough time drawing, and hitting the guy before he made it to him. The biggest reason I feel that you can still be successful in MOST situations is due to the fact that you have the element of surprise with the CCW. For example; Baddie walks up to you thinking you're unarmed, in the process of them being excited/nervous/careless/intoxicated or whatever, they leave you an opening long enough for you to draw and suppress or incapacitate them. Just my .02 cents and I agree with you both that self defense past 25ft isn't really the typical range.

Who's got the lowest miles of any second Gen?
If he ever has plans to sell it.. let us know! haha

New CCW
Yea Mike I hear ya! Open carry is idea for a quicker draw but being that I'm not as worried about animals around here, the concealment is ideal.

Thanks for the input! I've heard nothing but good things about the springfield. Everyone I've told this list has said they'd probably pick the XDs first then it's been mixed after that. So I'm leaning towards that for sure, but like you said, it also depends on how it feels in the hand. That could make or break it. Are you carrying the XD in a .40? I didn't see the XDs in .40 only 9mm and .45? The LC9s looks like a real nice gun too and now that they have the LC9s pro (without a safety) I'm leaning towards that as well. The only issue is from what I've heard the trigger pull is really light, and on a CC gun without a safety and a soft trigger that's something to think about.

Amsoil intake fail
I wish I could say that it was something like that because it'd make it a whole lot easier to figure out the root of the problem! Unfortunately I haven't even been under the hood (not on that side at least) to even of possibly bumped it or anything.

New CCW
Well I'm going shopping for a new concealed carry weapon this weekend and just looking for some thoughts/opinions on what I'm looking at! I've narrowed it down to these 5.. Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Springfield XDs Ruger LC9s Glock 43 Sig p320 What you guys think!?

Who's got the lowest miles of any second Gen?
Yea I'm way out of this race as well, just about to click over 171k.

Amsoil intake fail
Haha no, there's not cat tracks! It's a bit of a weird angle in the pic so I'll try and snap another one of exactly how it sits in the truck to maybe give some better clarification as to where the wrinkled portion is.

Amsoil intake fail
Definitely all valid points here, it's just hard to really say what it was exactly. There isn't any melting or discoloration so that's tough to say its heat Even if I unstrap the filter and move it around there's no where for it to bend or bump into anything where the indentations are on the filter The hood is definitely not touching it as I gave my hood an unintended raise when I forgot to fully latch it down and took off down the highway So I'm really only left with it being being pulled in under boost, but even that doesn't really make sense either since I'm on stock boost!
