  1. After clearing the codes the only two to come back are the 1689 and 0122.
  2. A manual ECM will make your truck think its a manual. There is an nv5600 on cf right now for $1200 in Oregon and he said he would ship.
  3. The PCM does not care if you have a nv4500, nv5600 or g56. The only thing that will be different with your auto ECM is it will not have the idle up feature when letting off of the clutch pedal like a stick truck will have but the PCM will work just fine. There is a wire you cut for the cruise to work but other than that it should be fine. I used a smarty to flash my ECM to a manual trans.
  4. I would not knock early nv4500's off the list, the one I saw did not hit the t-case shifter. Seems like the older one shift better too. My buddy just sold an early G56 with the .79 gear ratio because he didn't like running such high rpm's. The 4500 works fine for me but a 5600 would be nice too. I think you should scour craigs list and pick up the cheapest wreck you can find and go from there. You do not need the pcm, ecm, crossmember or engine to trans adapter from a manual truck. If you decide to get into this shoot me a message anytime and I will help where I can.
  5. Mine and my buddies are both with my timbo apps.
  6. Present codes are p0122 p0113 p1698 p1689 p0222 p0236. I had the map sensor unplug while it was running so that could be the reason for the 0236 and it might just be because I have a huge ball of wires zip tied and dangling.
  7. I have my old junk apps and a 12v apps, might try hooking one up tomorrow.
  8. Mine did the same thing and now my SG is in my buddies 2002 and his does it too. It must be something with the gauge because the high idle would not work if the apps was really not at 0% and my high idle worked fine.
  9. If its stuck in one spot I figured it would at least work? I am electronically challenged.
  10. I replaced mine with rubber bushings from oreilly and they are shot again. I would at least go with poly bushings if you cannot swing a new set of arms.
  11. I did not use my apps and im thinking that's why my cruise stopped working. Is there a way to trick the ecm into thinking I still have an apps? Perhaps a resistor stuffed into the apps plug?
  12. When mine did this it was control arm bushings.
  13. No, locked normal with the switch off but locked on command with the switch on. Your 2002 may be different though.
  14. Welcome to the fam!
  15. I never used a resistor either, just a jumper in place of the lock up relay.
  16. I didn't buy a12v, just all the parts I needed from it. If you can source a 12v for a good price, I say go for it, especially if your vp is dead. My truck was perfectly fine when I did all this but I can never leave good enough alone.
  17. I never could get the SG to read correct mpg anyway, I used it for the other features. I have $150 in cash for all the parts from the 12v truck including pump. With lines and all little pieces including sending my fass back to fass to get a new motor and all I probably have about $1000 total out of pocket in it. I sold my vp, smarty and timbo apps to the guy I got all the 12v parts from. I also sold my 24v gear housing to a guy on cf. if you can buy a donor truck for a decent price, you can get most of the parts you need and sell what you don't to pay ft te swap.
  18. Runs great but I think I will go ahead and pull the injectors to get pop off lowered. Smokes more on start up and I have to tap the throttle every time to start it. Its not as smoky just driving around as the comp and smarty stack was when it was turned up all the way though. My buddy has my scan gauge but I hope to get it back this week so I can keep up with my mileage closer.
  19. If I lost 25hp, I could not feel it. What filter did he have before?
  20. I don't thinks its as fast as the comp and smarty. I may have it timed a little low so I might mess with that a little but it runs great. Motor is quieter too
  21. I guess they just needed a good drive to quit leaking because they are all dry now. I am a very happy camper! ;)
  22. Now the only problem I'm having is all but one of my lines are leaking fuel. I tightened them to 25ft pounds like Scheid said and it just is not enough. Scheid said if they don't stop leaking to send them in and they will lean test them but I don't need a test to know they are leaking.
  23. Thanks and yes, it's hot hot hot!
  24. Got it running this evening. Runs great, started up easier the first time than it used to when I changed the fuel filter with the vp. http://youtu.be/irop_9WEm5I
