Nice to have speedometer and cruise working again and no lights on inst cluster. Wasnt an issue on this repair, but what is the best way to clean corroded or dirty wire, like a broken tail light wire so it can be soldered. Thanks as always for all the help.

Was pretty sure I had a broken wire, just couldn't find it. Was afraid it was up in the frame behind fuel tank. No critters involved in this break, conduit is brittle an have had a lot of ice and mud hanging underneath this winter

Never thought of that!! Need to set some traps. How big are tree rats? Maybe I could just electrify the whole truck and if any critters touch it....ZAP! Already had mice make a home in hood insulation. Maybe I'll just concentrate on repairing wires

Could not find a break in wire, checked plug at left front wheel and was clean as a whistle. So I decided to replace rear speed sensor. Got it out in one piece, used more patience than I'm used to. Struggled to get new sensor back in. Keep in mind it's been a couple weeks since I tried to find break in wire. Guess what I found after I had the sensor all installed

Put a cutout on that you can control from inside the cab and have the best of both worlds

Thanks guys. Do I need to worry about pinion depth or just use existing shims under bearing? Do you reuse crush sleeve or?

I can see bearing is shot. This just wasn't a part of my plan. Will probably live through this.

Boy was I wrong! Was going to change front pinion seal real quick but turns out at least one of the pinion bearings is junk. I don't have the time or the money for this. Plus I gotta work outside in the mud. I hate to have someone else do the work, I could try to find a good used diff. Sure miss my old shop.

It is wet from where halves bolt together back to output shaft seal. Kinda the whole back half is wet. I will check the bolts. May be loose

Is there a vent on TC. If so where is it located. Case is oily on outside but can't tell where it's leaking. Thought maybe vent was plugged. Any thoughts? Would it matter that I park with front pointed down hill?

Do you not need to worry about brake booster?

Is it everyone's habit to see how low they can run on fuel, or just checking in case of necessity. I always try to fill up at 1/4 tank. Course I live 15 miles from fuel and need to use fuel to plow road to get to hiway.

Beginning yesterday my abs and brake light in inst cluster are stuck on. Fuses are good. Is the problem still more than likely the speed sensor on rear axle, even if speedometer was working most of the time until late today when it seems to have quit completely. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
