Ok I got my trany temp hooked up to my Mag Hytec pan and yea I know it's in the pan but hey. So I hook up to my 32' goose neck 7k empty and head out to pick up a load of drill stem for a fence I am building. I am about 20 miles into this and the temp is still at 100 so I pull over and check the wire and it's good to go, so I feel the pan and it's not hot so probably 100 degree. I get back in and it's up to 105 I get to where I am going and it's still 105, I set there and idle and it goes up to 150 just idleing for maybe 10 min. Get loaded with 25 32' joints maybe 4500 lbs and it comes down to 125 and stay's there all the 30 miles back. Idle in drive while I unload and it's back up to 150, go to town and it's down to 115 ambient temp is 90. :think:With winter coming it wont see above 100 for 5 months

I am not much help, all I have done is when the motor was out of the truck. But it went simple so just remove the fan and clutch and go for it.

When they took it out everyone in the lab room said it looked like a sist, they still sent it out to get it checked. I guess I will find out for sure wed. They said going in that they were 97%sure it was not cancer.

Cant get rid of me that easy Man I am here to tell you that anestesia kicked my tail, I would rather take my chances than go through that again Two hours for a simple extraction, started behind my ear and stoped just before my chin. Well they got it out and said it went well so here I am. I can talk but eating is tough,I never knew there where that many nevers and muscles that control your jaws. I thought I read somewhere you could turn off the tow/haul and turn on OD through the ECM.

Cool, that's what I am looking for. Also If I wanted to change tow/haul to no overdrive can the smarty do that too? There are times when the OD is good when hauling and then others not good.Thanks

Lower Egt's is what there add says, I didnt figure it could be much if it did at all. But when she hit 1400 I thought dang maybe I will try it anyhow

Wait till you see it roll up by the driver mirior, you will think your truck just blew. Man I had a motor that should have had blow by, and didnt use a drop of oil. This motor I have now has no blow by and uses about two qts every 5k and gets better fuel mileage. There is a test you can do with a 3/4 clear hose that will measure the amount of blowby you have and I cant remember where to find it. Maybe someone on here will come thru.

Oh yea sorry about that His truck is a 05 3/4 ton and its got to be heavy, he has air compressor,60gal fuel tank, two steel boxes with flat fixing tools and just bunch of everything. My 01 3500 is 11k but I too have to much junk in the back plus a heck of a flat bed.

Heck of a ride, my trailer weight is 7k his 3/4 ton 4x4 got to weigh 9k loaded with air compressior two boxes of tools 16k total at least. Location in Llano Tx. a lot of steap little hills. Killer on my auto trans.,egts hit 1400 at one point:stuned: I hate my auto and the egt's in this 05. Will a Smarty Jr. help to lower egt's? this is way out wild on the egt.Anyway what this post is he has two codes po229 and po234, can anybody help?

Dont ask me how I got lucky twice but when I put new orifice in I put two cans and it would throw snow balls at you with 100 plus outside. Had to let it all out when I put new eng. in, so I just did it all the same again. I did use a little hot water the last time and it will get down to 29 on a 100 degree day. Also vac the system each time.

For the 05 with the automatic. I have a friend with one for sale, I guess it is a so6, it has 9 diff settings? Before I do anything I have to get trany work.

I hear people say they run there smarty on 3 or 4 with timing. I also here people talking about the Smarty Jr. and run it on 3, so what's the diff. between the two. If I got one it would be for fuel mileage and pulling with my auto trans. I really like the all natural Hp of inj. and cam but just checking the options.

At least you stayed away from South Houston Eng. Rebuilders :lmao:They sent me a worn out 7.3 and said it was a new short block, all I saw was crosshach in the cylinders and thought it was good to go. It burned so much oil I had liquid oil driping out the tail pipe. Cylinder 8 had 280psi the rest where 320 :lmao2:At least I can laugh at it now, all I could do then was cry, my shop had just open, I spent every dime I had to fix eng.

It is really up to you, there are those who swear by it and others still think it's voodoo I once thought it was crazy back in the mid 70's when Amsoil first came out I said no way, now I run it in everything. Even my lawn mower, change it once every two years. Run it in my John Deere 4030 95hp tractor, cut and bale hay use it around the shop and change it once a year with around 400 hours on the meter, oil still clear enough to read dip stick thru the oil. I know some people say clean oil dont mean anything but I like it.

Ok enlighten me on the tightening inj. I have installed a lot of inj. and never had a leak. I all ways tighten the cap down then tighten the inj. lines. The fit up on the inj. and the fit up on nozzle makes it fail proof.

I used to work for a co. that had a lease in deep S Tx. Man I miss that place I worked 6 months out of the year rebuilding roads fixing camp house's for about 13 years, just about anything that needed done, it was just like a big christmas day every day.Hadnt been hunting since, maybe ten years now

Where did the whitetail on the right come from?

A friend of mine has a 2000 2500 4x4 and the tps or apps is making it go into limp mode. He suts it off let it set of 1-2 min fire it back up and away it goes for a few more days.Does anyone out there make a aftermarket one, the dealer is high.
