  1. I'm a very random person
  2. WELP........ my 3 1/2 yr old Auto Zone alternator kicked the bucket this morning. Good thing I I was only sitting at the bus stop with the kids in the truck when I smelt something electrical burning, I immediately shut the truck down and popped the hood and smoke was pouring out of the alternator. I'm just going to get warranty replacement from AutoZone and then keep that one as a back up and I'm buying a nations alternator.
  3. Sorry for the delayed reply. I bought My mag pan used in excellent shape on eBay, it did have the tapped port already, not sure if previous owner did it or if it comes like that. Jon suggested Goerend flywheel because of their good rep. For $350, its cheap insurance on a $4,500 tranny...
  4. I had @Dynamic build mine! You'll be happy!
  5. So the latest iQuad app update with this released yet?
  6. Alright, after a 500+ mile roundtrip to Missoula, MT, me in the pass seat tuning in real time and my Dad driving the truck like a 57 year old truck driver that he is (this is a good thing), I think I am closing in on a tune that works very well for my truck, both for MPG and moving quickly when needed. Notice my signature. I call this my DAILY tune because, after all, it meets my daily driving needs/wants. *** (STOCK INJECTORS)*** TUNE PARAMETERS Number of Power levels: 8 RPM Limit: 3200 VALET MODE PARAMETERS Maximum Valet Mode Power: 5 PUMP TAP PARAMETERS Maximum Fuel Stretch: 1800 TPS Pump Maximum: 100 TPS Pump Minimum: 0 Minimum Pump Tap Fueling Percentage: 25 Pump Low Boost Scale PSI: 0 Boost Scaling: 40 TIMING PARAMETERS Fuel Load Timing: 2 Low PSI Timing Reduct: 3 Timing Reduct Scaling: 100 Light Throttle Timing Adv: 2 Light Throttle Timing Load Limit: 30 RPM TIMING MAX 1500 RPM: 16 2000 RPM: 18 2500 RPM: 20 3000 RPM: 22 Max: 25 BOOST LEVEL FUELING - CAN BUS 0 PSI: 106 1 PSI: 107 2 PSI: 108 3 PSI: 109 4 PSI: 110 5 PSI: 111 6 PSI: 113 7 PSI: 114 8 PSI: 115 9 PSI: 116 10 PSI: 117 11 PSI: 118 12 PSI: 120 13 PSI: 121 14 PSI: 122 15 PSI: 124 16 PSI: 126 18 PSI: 129 20 PSI: 132 22 PSI: 135 24 PSI: 139 26 PSI: 143 28 PSI: 146 30 PSI: 150 Performance TUNE PARAMETERS Number of Power levels: 6 RPM Limit: 3200 VALET MODE PARAMETERS Maximum Valet Mode Power: 5 PUMP TAP PARAMETERS Maximum Fuel Stretch: 1800 TPS Pump Maximum: 100 TPS Pump Minimum: 0 Minimum Pump Tap Fueling Percentage: 50 Light Throttle Timing Adv: 2 Light Throttle Timing Load Limit: 30 TIMING PARAMETERS Fuel Load Timing: 2 Low PSI Timing Reduct: 2 Timing Reduct Scaling: 75 Cruise Timing Adv: 2 Cruise Timing Boost PSI Limit: 10 RPM TIMING MAX 1500 RPM: 15 2000 RPM: 18 2500 RPM: 20 3000 RPM: 21 Max: 24 BOOST LEVEL FUELING - CAN BUS 0 PSI: 115 1 PSI: 115 2 PSI: 115 3 PSI: 115 4 PSI: 115 5 PSI: 117 6 PSI: 120 7 PSI: 123 8 PSI: 126 9 PSI: 129 10 PSI: 132 11 PSI: 135 12 PSI: 139 13 PSI: 142 14 PSI: 145 15 PSI: 148 16 PSI: 150 18 PSI: 150 20 PSI: 150 22 PSI: 150 24 PSI: 150 26 PSI: 150 28 PSI: 150 30 PSI: 150 This tune, with quad set to level 3 (can bus only no wiretap) is comparable to what my Edge was on level 5.....Yeah! Thanks @Me78569 for all of your help educating me on timing.
  7. I've been reading this thread thoroughly from the start and have to commend everyone who's contributed their knowledge. I'm only on page 18... quick question. Forgive me if it's been covered beyond page 18.....or I failed to catch it. Whats the advantage of Marine pistons?
  8. Would running that TCW-3 oil in the fuel cause that horrible gummy buildup on the intake valves? Did you wet sand those with 400 and use red scotch brite? I'd like to know. Thats how I polished my dirt bike frames back in the day.
  9. @trreed I have no idea when I'll be in or near CO next.
  10. Mine came in a box with that form forming foam (say that 10x fast) around the pump. If I can snag a bad pump off of CL for cheap as a core, Id just keep the new VP in the box and send the core in in its own box. I'll never forget what I seen in the trunk of my grandfathers old 75' Mercury Marquis.....spare: alternator carb rebuilt kit & fuel filter 2 of every belt radiator cap thermostat 5 gallons of distilled H2O 5 gallons of concentrate coolant several quarts of oil oil filter several quarts of tranny fluid 2 bottle jacks several pieces of different sized wood for use as blocks spark plugs (all 8 gapped and ready to go) distributor cap spark plug wires and finally his toolbox that had to weigh at least 100 pounds. This was when I was a kid and I remember this very clearly because I was with him and my grandmother once on our way back to my parents place in western WA from eastern OR and we broke down. He had to get everything out and he layed it all out on a big old dirty bed sheet on the side of the road, he kept just for that purpose. I couldn't believe how much stuff he packed around in that car. And it had a 460 in it....fuel milage must have been 5. Needless to say, witnessing that did teach me to carry stuff. I don't take it to that extreme, but I do carry every tool Ive ever used to work on my truck in my toolbox. You just never know. Especially considering where I go....rural Wyoming where cell service could take hours of travel time to find.
  11. I think I'll get studs before injectors. I know myself well enough to say that I'd probably blow my head gasket if I had 7X.010s without studs. I just need a little more time. You and Nick live not too far from a massive power plant I work in sometimes. It would be cool to see your truck....a properly built 2nd gen. I just wont park next to it haha.
  12. @Me78569 @Mopar1973Man I stand corrected on the test stand. My bad. ?
  13. No kidding. I just recently had my memory refreshed about which VP sellers actually have the Bosch test stand. DAP does have said test stand. That's a major thing to consider.
  14. What "HP" are the 7X.010s ? I forgot.
  15. @trreed my truck had the in tank retrofit as well AND that lawnmower size pump on the block. My VP went out at 92K miles. New one went on as well as my FASS 150 at the same time. No problems since but I am thinking seriously of buying another one from DAP and keeping it in my truck as a backup. I tend to travel the country for work.
  16. I'm thinking seriously about getting 50 HP injectors. And when I get the funds to do the SXE turbo and valve train mods and 7x.010s I'll hang onto the 50s for backup.
  17. @trreed some questions for you regarding your VP44: *How long has it been fed W/ your FASS titanium? *How many miles are on it? *Was it already in your truck when you bought it?
  18. Where could one find one of those 215 pumps? Like what vehicle(s) have them from the factory? Because I am kicking around the idea of buying a 12V 2nd gen and building the engine over time. One of those builds that progresses when money is plentiful...
  19. I know. Haven't done it since.
  20. OK guys thanks a lot! I'm not in the market for a new VP or anything I was just curious cause I seen a thread on CF, and someone was raving about blue-chip so I went to their website and could not believe their prices and just wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with them now I remember why I chose DAP for my VP 44 back in 2014. My VP 44 has been Tapped since day one as well as being fed constant 15-16 psi via FASS & TCW-3 oil at most fill ups.
  21. Anyone here have or know anyone who does have have the Best VP44 that Blue Chip Diesel sells? They have 3 tiers of pumps.. Standard, Premium, Best Best being this: upgraded computer, angle sensor, upgraded steel re-bushed housing, upgraded diaphragm and the latest updated rotor and distributor for the MAXIMUM LIFE EXPECTANCY of any VP44 sold anywhere Just curious if anyone has one from bluechip.
  22. I don't have a miss. That video was just one I found on YouTube
  23. @Mopar1973Man can you get a video of this miss? Is this bad?
  24. heres a data log.....I don't know if its worth a crud.... iQuad-2017-03-11-08.30.24-641325188.csv
  25. Got it.
