  1. Maybe Dynamic trans will see post and chime in. He always has good info. I wouldn't be concerned been coming up for long time. And I think be exhaust brake install directions say in effect dip stick tube needs to be "modified". In other words bend it out of the way. But I'm thinking dust could get inside. Not so much when driving if trans is pushing positive pressure up tube but when sitting. I'm guessing maybe another vent that might be plugged, creating more pressure thru dip stick tube. But I dont see one and i know very little about trans.
  2. I'm wondering same thing on venting
  3. Mine has metal bushing at top also. Looks like a upside down bottle cap sortof? Wonder if anything supposed to be inside the cap?
  4. On my 47re if torque converter drained 6 qrts I think, (when it was stock)
  5. That would be great. Maybe I'm missing something on mine. Thanks
  6. Supposed to have o ring? Never knew that. I'll check Thanks
  7. Disregard my above post, posted wrong link. This link is better https://mopar1973man.com/topic/14400-locker-or-limited-slip/?tab=comments#comment-185280
  8. LS. I just shortened subject. I have same problem...
  9. https://www.amazon.com/PartsSquare-Fastener-Retainer-Chrysler-Plymouth/dp/B012W3OUHG Google search turned up this. ( I Didnt confirm in part number in part manual that has link in downloads section)
  10. My diff is LS. and have problems getting stuck also. 5th wheel better traction than bumber pull for sure. And also I'm thinking about a "locker" type diff.
  11. My trans dip stick pops up a little, I shove it back down and 3 or 4 tanks worth of fuel later the dip stick has poped backed out maybe half inch. Dont know what's causing it, vibration or pressure from venting is pushing it back out. Been doing this for long time. Any ideas what's going on? and if normal is it ok to put something on it to hold down to keep dust out? Do you have this problem? Are other vent holes maybe plugged and creating more venting out of dip stick hole?
  12. I got some for wives crv. WESCO Autobody supply looked up OEM number then ordered me couple bags, about 6 to each bag. They called them plastic push rivets. Many different sizes and types in there book. But with dodge ram maybe hard part to get?
  13. Anybody know...was this kdp problem on 53 blocks or all blocks? @dripley sig line says 2002 @Bafazane sig line says 2001. Makes me wonder if updated cases were at that time? But obviously best thing to do is check. I tried finding a side by side pic for comparison with no luck.
  14. Ok thanks. Was hoping some indicator would be visible from outside of case. Like a detent in the case to hold pin in or something. Guess I still have to pull case to check out.
  15. How does one know if case is the updated type or not? Thanks
  16. I've been messing with a cracked abs grill myself. Can't remember where but looking for ideas to fix mine , I found some people are making abs paste to fix whatever they need fixed. Some cut up some abs and use fillings like someone would use wood putty to make stronger. Seems to be easy to do. Of course those that fail probably dont put on some web site. Just throwing it out there. Never done it myself. My cracked grill is going to get neoprene well nuts first and hope it works.
  17. When doing an oil change does anybody clean their oil pressure regular? I have never have cleaned mine but maybe a good idea? If you've cleaned yours... easy as manual says. As in make sure spring is free and not jammed up with crud. (I'm not buying the tool to measure spring strength) And what about turbo oil line so close to heat. Anybody take it off and blow out with air to get out any chunks that might of coked up?
  18. Can I install quad and run at “stock” levels? If I can run at stock power levels... the valet power level used as theft protection and the turbo cool off setting will come in handy ( I think it has turbo cool down). And the MPG tune shouldn't put any stress either I would assume, but could be wrong. Then after getting trans rebuilt and with a towing tune, it should help somewhat pulling 9,000 pound trailer on hills. Thanks, your thoughts
  19. No murder in my part...but when we got married in Las Vegas of all places by a judge, he said marriage guaranteed for 20 years. Now with over double that with 45 years wonder if I could get "reflashed"
  20. One of my daughter friends says murders dont serve that long. But I'd do it again, although some days I wonder
  21. I've been trying to live by a new creed after 65 years and 44 years of marriage. I stopped explaining myself when I realize other people only understand from their level of perception, not mine.
  22. Well seasoned school bus mechanic tells me when they get somebody new changing oil it's only about 2 weeks till they stop filling up new filter with oil before threading on new filter without prefilling. Interesting part to me was no failures that he knows of. I fill mine but wondering if really necessary. Other than manual says so. Do you prefill?
  23. Milton industries I think is big name in fittings. Sorry you couldnt get it. If you get stuck another big play'r in fitting market is dixon valve.
  24. Google Schrader vale tank plug Any fitting hydraulic store probably has them. My ace hardware even has them. Not with a/c fitting though.
  25. Any benefit to keep volt meter hooked up and drive around, to test if anything going on in different RPM's and speeds/gears? Read alot people that trans govenor seems to come into play with a/c leakage. When using cruise control my actual mph gains on flat stretches. I can set it at 65 and 3 or 4 miles later I'm going over 70. Haven't tested anything yet but think it might be a/c leakage, reason why I'm wondering about higher speeds/RPM's. Thanks
