  1. There's your problem... NYC Stick to Hunts point! IMO...Backing up stuff...depends on what your used to and how much "stick" time you have.
  2. On wives 06 crv front disk and rear were drum. (Rear drum) The adjustment screw assembly would get miss aligned sometimes. The tangs at the ends got worn (cheap alum) and adj screw would get at an angle and make a thumping noise. New screw assembly and shoes solved problem.
  3. If noise coming from rear are brakes drum?
  4. 5th wheel better turning radius for backing in tight spots and towing is more stable with weight over axle. But loss of full truck bed and you get to do tree trimming for bumper pull trailers. Find a floor plan you like and go from there. Both have positives and negatives.
  5. IBMOBLE... The fan clutch an a clean air flow over the radiator keeps any overheating problem at bay. your fan...what is "clean air flow" fan thanks
  6. Not on my cell phone, just get copy or quote.
  7. Most of the Alphabet in some postings sometimes I think I'm on different planet. Any glossary on here?
  8. "you guys go to pick up air line fittings and hose for trucks?" locally I have place that fixes hydraulic lines, good supply of fittings. broke down on road once in unfamiliar territory Google. The city I was in and the term hose and air fittings everything from Napa to forklift places to vacuum line places everything else shows up.
  9. Katoom... I'm thinking about same set up. Pulling grades on I-5 near CA OR border, any egt problems and what speeds do you see and overall mpg...any info helpful. (I think we're about same towing weight.)
  10. Completely stock in a 01 3/4 auto with 4:10 rear end, I've got gauges and an airdog fuel system and that's it as far as extras, everything else is stock. RV loaded is about 9500 pounds. Been allover US. Someday I'll get more power but for now I dont go over 1250 egt's and I just blend in with the large trucks on long upgrades. Exhaust brake for downhill side comes in handy.. When I do upgrade I'm leaning toward edge EZ and rv275 injectors. That is after I get trans beefed up. And I'm not sure if I'm the right track or not as far as extra power goes. My RV tires are ST and load range E, I forget the speed rating but tires seen 70 once or twice that's about it. With 14% tongue weight on hitch. Tows good, very little away. Bringing up tires and tongue weight because higher speeds alot of damage happens if a tire blows out. As in under carriage, siding etc.
  11. Thanks...I'll drain tank, then new fuel, change filter (and inspect best I can) give a "shock" treatment. Then start it up to get new fuel throughout engine. Really not sure best way to cut open filter, which are air dogs. Any ideas?
  12. " I have had 2 or 3 bouts of bad algae contamination over the last 25 years, I shock with Boibor JF and sometimes add a maintenance" OP here. I've only have 10 gallons to mess with. I'm going to pump it out via airdog and put in new fuel. Then give biocide "shock" treatment should put me in good standing. But if I had 2000 gallons to deal with I certainly wouldn't be giving it to my neighbor to burn thru his back hoe.
  13. Anything negative about adding some a biocide. My 01 has been sitting for over two years now and I'm in a high humidity area fungus biocide fungal Gunk whatever you want to call it not uncommon in my area he is there any danger of putting the stuff in at all.
  14. Something to think about. When we used to full-time in an RV in Yuma Arizona. The best spot to get my oil changed was a place that mostly handled agricultural equipment. There was quite a few 5.9 on different types of equipment. I inquired about the Heat and they now they held up in the heat. He said no problem running 24/7. At the time I didn't think to look if they were Ppumped or vp44 but my issues of hot fuel no longer in my head. Can also tell you Gulf War 1 it was quite a few 5.9 running different type of stuff and sit there and go 24/7 day after day after day no problem and it was pretty hot over there
  15. I've had good luck with "airline brake" tubing".
  16. Wonder if there are some kind of diode a person could install to prevent elec problem...to keep elec only going outbound from battery be used to jump disabled vehicle
  17. When mine did that... turned out a loose connection right on top of diff. I still have zip tie on it to make good connection
  18. "Henry Ford and William Durant. Bicycle mechanics J. Frank and Charles Duryea of Springfield, Massachusetts, had designed the first successful American gasoline automobile in 1893, then won the first American car race in 1895, and went on to make the first sale of an American-made gasoline car the next year." 100 year old vehicle might be worth something... wonder what mine will be worth in 3005
  19. Thanks... I've got a real problem with neighbors leaves. Mowing 3 acres takes me about 4 hours. This year I kept track and have about 27 hours mowing (pick up leaves) since Halloween! If I dont keep leaves picked up. Makes bigger mess in driveway on other side of house. Neighbors wont cut or even let me pay to have them cut. His words... how much would it cost to replace a 60 foot birch tree? You cant replace it, so why would I allow it to be cut down?
  20. Thanks. HD has good reviews on it also. How it do on grass/leaves little bit wet And on hills?
  21. Neighbors trees and my age, thinking about getting a riding lawn mower. Prices all over the place. Some older on craigslist $300 and new, some over $2000. My thinking is used but... Parts situation... all mowers pretty equal? Any hints on what to watch out for?
  22. Hf... kid buys 3 or 4 every year, uses daily in shop. He says they are good for couple years. They come on sale once or twice a year (heavier model) the light weight model on sale more often, however cheaper construction/material not very good.
  23. My kid has trailer shop. Every birthday he makes it a point to tell me to inspect it. Especially on sides where bolted to frame looking for cracks. Also stress using tow strap versus chain, to take out some of the g forces when using hitch as a tie off point, like when jerking something back on road or off the road. Curt was going to make him hitches under his name. That plan ended quickly when he found out cost of lability insurance. Best he can figure about 60% of cost is insurance.
  24. I dont like to wax and dont think those waxes mixed in with the wash are much good. I usually wash with dawn dish soap about once a year. Waxing a different matter. Paint still looks good imo. Question, these things getting up in years, when does paint start to come off. I sometimes see 85- 90's degrees for about 1 month max. No paint peeling and no rust at present time. How often do you wax the paint?
  25. Dont know what your doing or planned. But if you need anything after installing pac brake has a lot more dealers nation wide. I choice bd because just hour north of me in bc canada. But doesnt do me much good when traveling around our country. And pac brake also stronger, forget which model. Which has its pluses and minuses. While mine works great I would go pac brake if doing over just because of the amount of dealers. Not to mention bd directions are written in French, Canadain and English or a hybrid there of all together. Not one language then another printed but a jumbled mess. And when I called up there I got "out of country" fees on my phone bill. And their directions are just bd. I have pac break air bags, also in canada and directions easy to understand. So not ranting about you Canadain's. EH?
