  1. Interesting...i thought maybe engine cylinders quit except maybe 1 or 2 of them.
  2. OP here... When driving it home every red light the engine felt like it stopped and when light turned green and you stepped on the gas pedal it started.
  3. Had to get rental today so wives crv get airbags fixed. Rental was brand new jeep compass. Not sure if all gadgets are worth it. Here is pic of center console. Be nice to have some of stuff in a 2nd gen. Wiring diagram probably need roll of butcher paper to get it all on. Don't see how common guy can fix his own anymore. Some things are nice but this is over kill.
  4. Yep hard to win. I've got retired cruise America rental since 09 and has been great for travel lets say thousand mile circle from home. But way to small for longer duration time wise. So took out shopping to get what ever she wanted as long as my 3/4 ton could pull it around. She looked at new only for about 2 months then fell in love with what we have now. Thought it better than new. Now both RV's sitting at home because she can't get in either one with her medical problems. She stares out the dining room window at them. Matter of fact just getting home from infusion. Told her what I'm posting...she says use the darn things as much as you can till you or rv is no longer moble. I wonder when the rv industry will make units that are consistency reliable? This last time around we spent the extra $$$ for an arctic fox thinking it would be out last rv and they are known for quality. Turns out there are a lot of little things wrong. Stupid stuff that I think the higher price we paid wasn't worth it. We got it used couple years old but factory errors are plenty. How do you wire the slide out junction box and leave the rubber gasket waded up on the inside? Just stupid stuff
  5. I hope this all works nice got you. I wonder when the rv industry will make units that are consistency reliable? 6. Wife says we have travel interption thing on some credit cards also. But I have never looked into them. All new to me. I do now what a hassle being broke down somewhere. My fass pump fell apart after 11 years in Yuma of all places. Could find good mechanic and when I thought I could do something after finding this site. Then the RV park wouldn't let me drop tank or work while on their property. Long story short after bad mechanic job and towing bill because of bad work...got about $3000 total worth of hosing and still had to repair again when we got home in Seattle because sump leaked. Your with family and repair bill should be covered I would think. So At least that's good news I would think.
  7. Don't see how but if it works great. Old neighbour told me when his car failed smog test he brought along a scuba tank and added oxygen to exhaust and passed.
  8. I've heard some states have a "lemon law" that extends to all vehicles (RV's included) over a certain amount and to orginal purchaser for a certain amount of time. Not sure how to find out but maybe worth checking out if they start messing around. If you financed it is there any "travel interption" insurance built in? I was rear ended at a light...reading insurance policy about rentals found out we also have travel interption insurance but with a ton of exceptions an d fine print.
  9. You serious? Dirty rag not enough air flow?
  10. So in other words dealer doesn t want to mess with it... probably FR won't pay him enough and can't blame him. Imo probably by thurs or Fri before Corp and dealer get plan worked out. Friends of ours had some warranty work done on their new lance camper. Work was done at a dealer many miles from the dealer they bought it at. That dealer finally told by corp to do required warranty work. Sat for 3 weeks before work started. Keep us posted.
  11. Thanks... very common sense idea. Sure makes life easier with short cut ideas. I've been thinking how I was going to duck tape in a vacuum gauge etc. Not any more...thanks
  12. You're in western wa and near portrtland? Look up Vulcan diesel address. He helped me a lot when butcher of mechanic did change over from fass ( 11 years) to airdog (because airdog has a tech guy that spoke spanish) great guy and might be close to you. Mechanic work done in Yuma where everyone is a "best mechanics". For me no problem with either. But Vulcan has a cheap pump I carry under back seat that if airdog goes out...can slip in carter pump and then get main pump at a shop of your choice or etc. Or captive to "best mechanics" or stuck waiting for new pump. Or in my case waiting 3 days to be "overnight" from Phoenix to yuma.
  13. Yes... hopefully they will get you fixxed in timely manner.
  14. Believe it or not... I found a shut off valve at ace hardware. Might try if you have on.
  15. True can add second a/c at any time... Was thinking... if done at later date and then you get leak sometime later. FR then says not our bust, somebody other than us on roof installing second a/c and that is what created leak. Thinking cya on your part.
  16. Every scrap of paper you get from them and hopefully detailed, I would save in a separate file . Positive side... you're at family house and not middle of nowhere living out of motel. (Time to clean out fridg/freezer and remove all valuables). Hopefully FR will treat you right. Notice on warrantys there is no timeframe when they have to perform, only when their warranty Protection ends. Be nice if they did replace with new unit. But they would have to get rid of it as used (Not good for them and they already sold it once) but l would sure try. For what's it's worth... My rv guy bids roofs at 110 a running foot and 100 for every cut out no matter how big or small. That is for thinnest roofing material. And encourages material couple mil's thicker for better protection from tree branches and shoes. If you have 50 amp elec and thought about adding another a/c now might be a good time. Keep us posted.
  17. Thanks for posting this. If I ever figure out what I should do for just a little bit more power towing I'll be needing chart.
  18. Ok thanks Think I'll do a good cleaning then I'll know I'm starting clean for next service.
  19. Thank you The last 2 win air filters I bought did NOT have the foam piece that lays on top, just the actual filter itself. I just rinsed out foam piece. I call wix, they tech guy basically said they were getting blamed for "foreign" damage that they didn't feel was their problem. My foam piece about 3 years old now, not going to re-use it any more. How could I test to make sure air is filtered? I don't see any dust or crud in the tube leaving air box. But want to be sure. Can I rig up some kind of test to make sure...maybe pull filter box and duct tape a wet dry vac and see if air is getting in besides where air is supposed to enter at?
  20. Wix... I'm under impression AIR filters are good. Any knowledge on their air products?
  21. I'm noisy ... how much clearance between tailgate with it down and Jack on trailer? Any clearance issues?
  22. 2 things... 1. My fuel psi is 19 and 15 or 16 wot. So I'm alright... thanks 2. Any hints on how to match which filter to get? Flow and amount of pressure and restrictions must play a part to get things working right. I ran my airdog hanging on my fence in order to filter the fuel because the replacement fuel tank I found was a mess inside when I found it. Including dead bird, rocks and dried out diesel. I wanted to get it as clean as possible before I put in. I cycled fuel back and forth between fuel tank and brand new garbage can. The "flow" of diesel is a lot slower than what I thought for these pumps. My airdog model 95 I assume 95 gallon per min. Didn't seem like over a gallon per min to me. Maybe the "95 gpm" is a mearsument with no restrictions, meaning no filters to restrict flow. Didn't think of it at the time but I should of timed how long to get one gallon.
  23. Last couple times I've called Vulcan. Think next time I'll see if he has Donaldson. I like to give him my business. But I'm going away from airdog filters that's for sure. Maybe I'm a sucker for name brand filters? At work about 100 trucks used whatever mechanic showed up with and can't remember any filter problems. (Other than the tattle tell on air filters not working)
  24. Thanks...when I had a fass I used fleetgaurd. Now with airdog I'll change. Makes me nervous airdog doesn't have info on them. Imo sort of like buying a tire that only has overall size and no other details.
  25. Not hurting anything was what I was thinking also. Then after looking it got complicated with flow rates etc. I did extend my vent thing on top of tank and put on a filter on, just to keep dirt and crums from getting in. Did that after working on fuel module. Because I noticed top of tank gets junk also.
