Front bumper sag
OK thanks folks. Beginning to look like my truck is starting to frown. Someone always could mount something like a good size chicken where it's sagging and it would look like the weight of the chicken was making bumper sag. Heavy duty chicken. Be careful with stuff if bolted to your hood. Years ago a co-worker lost a finger when shutting a hood on a Mack truck. The ear on the old style sharp eared bulldog caught it. That day until he retired his handle was "fingered Mack". Not sure how a chicken could "finger you", but be careful.

Front bumper sag
Any advice on front bumper beginning to sag? Barely noticeable to me right now but obviously not going to get better. Anybody make support brackets or is there anything I can do?

Determing wire size
I'm adding a fuel pressure gauge. Other gauges already in "A" pillar are trans, boost and egt. Since 2005. All the light wires are from one place (not sure yet from where). But wire sure looks real small to me. Basic Question on wiring... To make sure I'm ok on this or any wire project...add up how much elec going to be going through and then select wire size based on how much going thru wire?

Fuel temps?
The markings on hoses are handy. Most NAPA stores use Weatherhead which is a Eaton brand (according to my local store) while I can't look up the dot number specs, usually I can find something online that gives a clue to the pressure or temps hose will hold up to. In this case I didn't know what fuel temps I was playing with. (At work we used airline anti freeze when cold.)

Fuel temps?
Believe it or not when I was a pre newbie on here, a so called mechanic used some PVC pipe in my fuel system. I questioned him about it. He pulled up a chart of diesel compatibility. Also listed is nylon. Both had a rating of "A". I had some air brake hose left over from air bag job, so thought I would use it. I also have a fuel module that has lots of plastic in it. I did find out the plastic that draw straws are Teflon. My fuel tank is a form of plastic. But I'd be more concerned if I had to use b100 as a fuel in my rubber fuel line.

Hello
I'm a newbie also. Great bunch here IMO. sometimes I feel stupid asking some of the questions I ask. Never have been belittled from anyone here and always a help.

Fuel temps?
I have autometer gauges. (I like type of gauges you have with blinking light as alarm but already bought auto meter gauge when I started project). I only have one sender for pressure gauge. I'm also coming up with air line to be used as test port. Subber to needle valve to "T" then air line to sender and other air line as test port. Booth air lines connected with ferrile compression fittings. In the pic, you have two senders for fuel pressure? Or is second sender for another gauge? And title of article is plural. If running 2 FP gauges could you explain where 2nd is reading pressure from?

vacum pump oil leak
Model of airdog might play a part. Mine is model DF 100. My pressure didn't "bounce" but pressure would go up and down 5-10 pounds maybe driving a mile. Found out the adjustment screw was loose. I reset pressure and no more problems with pressure.

High amp alternator
I'm looking forward to see what the "fix" is, if any. Large amount of questions here are VP44 or elect. Get those two things worked out and I can see million miles

Thanks I always like "safety" margin built in.

Fuel temps?
What Fuel temps are you folks seeing? I want to use 1/4 inch air line left over from putting in air bags. Going to install a test port off a Airdog DF-100. Tubing also known as "Air brake" line. Which is nylon I believe. Best I can see online nylon tubing starts to fall apart around 200 degrees? I have 190 or 195 thermostat. Tubing is stamped SAE j844. Well with in psi but not sure about temps. Any body know what fuel temps we are dealing with?

High amp alternator
Good luck...my very limited knowledge led me to believe more hassle than just testing. Only thing that came close that I found was something using a "joulce" set up. And it was barley visible around 1/2 volt. I hope your gizmo turns out great.

High amp alternator
Crossed my mind was a LED light inline for indicator. I can't even find one that will light up enough to be visible at 03.

High amp alternator
Thanks for fast reply. I for sure need to test mine. My cruise control on long open stretches of road, my speed does increase. When alt went out at work, they always wanted lease Neville as replacement. Don't know if they fit our trucks or really better or what? Reason might even be open line of credit? (Also I think I have record for cruise control. My foot slipped off bumper and twisted my ankle just before leaving WA state to pick up mom in law in CT. Used cane to get up to 35 mph then put cruise on there and back.)

How often should a.c. test be done?

High amp alternator
OK... In mean time I have extra gauge hole in pod. Was thinking about your pana-pacific temp gauge. But is there a gauge sensitive enough to mount in pod hole to monitor other than hand held volt meter? (Just thinking)

I don't think I know enough about elec...but is there any way to install inline diode or soliend to prevent back feeding from poor quality diodes in alt to rest of system? In others words install a "one way" valve.

Maintenance - BHAF Replacement
Basing filter change on filter minder... For many years my filter minder said every is OK. Pulled cover one day and filter had mold on it. Lesson learned for me

Diesel smell
My diesel smell removable process...Wife says diesel smell not getting removed from clothes when washing with bottle of coke. Light smell just add bottle coke to washer. Heavy diesel smell pour coke on clothes and let soak then wash. I'm not getting results like I used to. My nose is getting better or coke is getting cheaper. What do you use on OPEC perfume?

Door hinge
Exactly...

Door hinge
OP here...I use white lithium spray oil and other stuff when it starts squeaking. Silicone spray with ptfe's worked best. To me when the pin rides into last slot it hangs up there. I didn't think about it when posting but maybe I could just get the bushing. On my 87 ford I just replaced a big eyelet and a grommet looking thing. I might not need entire hinge.

Factory trailer plug 7way
Mine has Chrysler star on it but can't read tiny numbers. Might be in part manual being it has number? Sure looks like Pollak I had on older Ford. Inside bed for 5th plug, I have pollak. Both of worked since 05 when I got it

Consensus on tapped pump
Pretty bad even had bird nest. Cleaned what I could with pressure washer and wiped out with paper towels until towels no longer had dirty marks on them. But my arm or etc tools couldn't get the ends. Let dry, no water inside before install.

Consensus on tapped pump
I install a used fuel tank. Cleaned it out best I could before installing. Think I would change df100 Airdog filters at 1000 miles two times then 5000 miles and then back to normal schedule. Good plan??? Bad plan???
