  1. did he modify a MG air filter to be used for oil?
  2. they're really a PITA. but the tabs are plastic, black and hard to see if you aren't looking for them.If you can, pull the dash bezel off and look at the back of them. It'll make sense, but won't make it any easier LOLI use a little 'pick tool' to get them apart.edit: well, on the early 2G trucks, they come out with the bezel. I just realized yours is the late style.
  3. If you've got the original style OFV with the little bolt in it, then just take it out, pull the spring out, stretch it a little bit. Put a ball-point pen spring in the center, cut it to same length as the stretched spring, and put it all back together. you'll have 30+psi fuel pressure. mine's just shy of 40psi.

Take advantage of the time bob. Especially while you can. What I mean is, that I should've taken more time with my pops, but now I can't. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

  8. I grew up in th south end of tornado alley. I agree with dorkweed; it definitely is not something to take lightly. I've been in the middle of several, with two F4s obliterating my hometown, back in 1994. 3 deaths - 1/2 mile wide tornado. 80 percent of the downtown square was destroyed. 233 homes and 58 businesses were destroyed. 227 homes and two schools were also damaged. 48 people were also injured. It went down 5th street (residential) and basically cleaned off the terra firma from 4th to 6th Streets, about 1mi in length. Nothing was left. Then, April of last year, tornadoes ripped through Lancaster, TX, again.. One hit the Schneider Trucking terminal.. You get "used" to it, so to speak, but (for me) the fear is always high. I've seen, as well as heard of some very strange happenings with tornadoes in my time.

  11. I checked the tire pressure this evening, and tomorrow, I'll be reducing the pressure. All 6 are 75psi.. I will probably run 70 in the fronts and 65 in the rears, unless I'm loaded and/or towing.

  20. Fuel pressure, egt are definite. Boost is nice but if stock, not a necessity. Trans temp if auto and tow often is nice to have as well. I run trans temp, fuel, egt and boost. You can run three on pillar and one on column cover. I just used a radio shack project box as a gauge holder. Its not pretty but it's functional. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  21. Hex, as a veteran, I disagree. Maybe you aren't after personal praise, but you also deserve praise for recognizing the veteran. Even simple "thank you for your service" statements I get (very few, by the way) , combined with a handshake, mean a lot to me. There are far too many soldiers that we'll never get the opportunity to shake their hand and/or thank them. Not meaning to derail your thread, but this kinda brings up a point of concern I've had this week.. There's a woman I work with at my 9-5er, who is a hoot and a half. She's very nice, caring, and will do just about anything you ask of her. I own my own business (www.playtimerental.com). Last weekend I delivered to a residence in a neighboring town. A friend was helping me, who is also a veteran (I'm Armor, he's Cavalry, so we pick on each other all the time ). Pulling up to the residence, we see the car has a state-issued Bronze Star license plate. The resident meets up out front, and shows us where he wants it set up. We finished up, and started to head out, when Tex and I shook his hand, and thanked him for his service. He was quite appreciative, and thanked us for ours. Fast forward to this week.. The nice, awesome woman at work asked me "Did you deliver to [town] last weekend?" "yes, a couple. why?" "To [address]?" "yep" "That's my ex. don't deliver to him ever again." I was shocked. I said "your ex has a Bronze Star." "Pfft. For doing nothing. I don't know why they gave it to him. He doesn't deserve it." Sorry, but they Army doesn't give the 5th-highest combat decoration out like Skittles. The USAF had some heat from "awarding" them to non-combat positions, but has since been put in check for that. I guess my point is that yes, she can be bitter towards him as an ex-husband, but his military history and awards should be respected in another light. The two are un-related. Long story short, hex, is I think what you're wanting to do is great, and I appreciate it.
