  1. I dont remember what I did, But if it came with new screws I probably used them.
  2. I take you reconfigured the fuel line and added the tee? Definitely not stock. So it looks strange to say the least. You do need a snubber or something there to protect the sender. The pulses from the VP will destroy the sender pretty quick. Happy the truck is starting as it should. Nothing like success. The hands will heal, mine always do after having them in tight places. My peck aint as bad as the pecker heads above mention.
  3. The bio diesel did the same thing, even a bit more noticeable than the 2 stroke.
  4. Mine is running quieter than it ever has at idle and cruising down the highway. 2 stroke made a difference, then I ran a lot bio blend fuel for quite a while and that quieted it even more. About 50k miles ago I put a set of DAP 50's in and it is quieter than ever. I did not notice an immediate change after swapping but was not expecting anything to happen along the quiet line. Not exactly sure why it is quieter now but it is. I remember when I bought the truck. I was standing there looking under the hood with the motor running wondering how you tell when something was going wrong in the engine, does it get quiet? I really dont think so, but coming off driving gassers all my life, it was a thought.
  5. I have to agree with the above. Got me scratchin my head too.
  6. Well Well I guess I will go pry my feet out of mouth now. I had no idea the gauges were off that much. My apologies to @Greg Vance for misleading you. My education continues and I will be over here if anyone needs me.
  7. All the more reason for a good fuel system.
  8. I was trying real hard to Mr. Nelson.
  9. Checking the pressure under load would tell you pretty quick. I suspect you would be lucky to see 5 psi out that pump as much as it dropped free revving.
  10. Speechless! .
  11. Nice bars, I am sure your going to like them.
  12. Going to make it a bit difficult to know what pressure is under load. I lost my AD pump a few weeks back and would not have known with out my in cab gauge. Probably would have driven it until the VP burnt up.
  13. I dont see why you could not do it. Just do it in a professional manner. Me, I aint going back in there till she starts leaking again. I see how you are when its not a chicken joke.
  14. How do you know the pressure dropped if dont have a gauge connected? When I turn mine on you can hear the engine load up bit but the rpm then returns to normal quickly if there is drop. A fuel pressure drop for the AC on should be nil.
  15. I was a bit surprised when my neice and siblings gave it to me at a family gathering myself.
  16. There is only one speed sensor for the rear in the diff. Thats all the ABS computer can control.
  17. From what I have read here the Quad would seem to be as trustworthy as any other electronic gauge. My tranny temp and egt gauge are both electronic and the FP and boost are mechanical. I never really give much thought to either being out of whack unless they were when I purchased them. I would still keep the ones have and just use the Quad for the other things it can monitor. If I did not have them already I would probably not add them if I did get the Quad. I have to do the radio thing one day since my cd bit the dust. A single din would open a space in the dash for Hmmmm.
  18. So @Mopar1973Man has kinky hose and @JAG1 does not. This sounds a bit strange.
  19. They all have the dowel but as I understand the hole in the later cases is stepped to prevent the pin from coming out. Here it is in my 02. The two differences I saw in my gear case and one for a 99 is the bulge in the case just below the second bolt hole above the pin and the thickened area of the case between the 2nd and 3rd bolt hole below the pin. On the 99 there was no or thickened area. Whether that is indicative of a safer case I dont know for sure.
  20. The OD of the trim is 1 3/8". The way it fits the contour of the dash would make the power point face trim a little to big but if you shimmed it out a little you would gain the space you need to make it fit. Not sure about getting the nut on the back though, pretty tight back there. It would be worth a try. I have something similar plugged into the lower power point but its just a cheapie and works ok. Chickens cant read.
  21. Here you go. The ID of the trim ring is 7/8" and the ID of the hole in dash is 1 1/16". There is room to enlarge hole.
  22. I can pull mine in the am and have a look.
  23. My set up is almost dentical to Mikes. We both run 2 stroke oil also as most others. My VP has 237k on it. I am closing in on him.
  24. This discussion will go both ways as mentioned above. I already have dedicated FP, boost, EGT, and trannny temp and will keep them if and when I get a quad. I had a Banks system with egt and boost gauges. When it went out I lost the gauges and drove without them. Kind of sucked. Though I drove the first 5 years of ownership with no gauges. I think you are good both ways. But the one gauge I would not ditch is the FP gauge.
