  1. I am not for sure he ever did? But thats been a while back.
  2. When I first saw your post I missed the second statement. I dont miss the second part at all.
  3. Mine goes thru a prefilter then the primary filter on the AD. It then goes thru the stock filter. I still stay between 14 to 20psi. I assume your pump is a DDRP which may not be capable of keep that pressure thru those filters I just dont know. If you are still just using the stock fuel lines that is a choke point. They are just small lines. If you are going to remain completely stock, you could get away with it. But if you go beyond stock it is not a good set up. By big holes kit I assume you mean a big LINE kit. The only thing something like that is going to help is with a better lift pump system. and bigger lines all they way thru the system. Mine are 1/2" all the way as many of us have here.
  4. I bought mine new because the 96 V10 blew up. I still remember choking on the $34k I paid for it. It just aint no fun buying and new truck with your trade in hanging on wrecker. Cant imagine doing that again even if I drove the 02 in for a trade in.
  5. As I remember lots of Dino. I hope @cajflynn responds.
  6. Well I think @Dieselfuture hit this nail on the head. This thread will go all over the place. Mine just turned 17 years this month. Bought it new in October of 01. 453k and no payments since mid 07. Am I still happy with it, yes. Would I like it to be a bit modern, maybe. Paint job for looks, yes. Am I going to keep driving it, absolutely. Do I want to keep working on it, as long as I am able. But once retired I feel I can still put it in good dependable shape for it to last. Only time will tell that one but I do believe it will last as long as me or my ability to push the clutch in. Plus knowing @Mopar1973Man that might give an excuse to drive to Idaho. who knows I might just stop and pick up @JAG1 and @Dieselfuture along the way and make a party of it.
  7. I always have. Not knocking sythetic, I just never saw the need for it for me.
  8. Nope. The gasket/oring is all you need.
  9. Sorry, I had the alloy wheels.
  10. I had 2 sets of the factory but they all started cracking. Going to find a set a 4th gens one day.
  11. Just trying to updated, old buddy, old pal.
  12. He is replacing his gauge, it only reads to 15 psi max.
  13. An earlier post would confirm the cover being off if IIRC> Look at the 2 earlier pics and you can see a difference in the covers. I never gave mine a second thought after first hearing about it.
  14. Mine has been surging for a while on and off. What makes you think it is the ECM. Pretty convinced mine is a wiring issue. New Apps did not cure it. The ECM does not command throttle as I understand.
  15. That is an interesting question that can't be answered. From the comments above we have all taken different directions to the issue. There is no way that one oil change is going to kill a motor. I have gone both ways thru my 50 years of driving and only lost two motors. One thru total oil starvation, ask the wife about that one. And one on the V10 when it blew shortly after an oil change. Always thought they put to much oil in but by the time it blew the engine had spit the oil out thru the tail pipe. I have 455k on mine with lots of idling and it still runs fine. I do have a weeping HG at the t'stat that needs to be dealt with soon. That is coming soon. So I say take your choice and run with it.
  16. I usually prop my can up near the oil filter at the exhaust manifold. The air of the fan and the heat off the manifold works pretty good also.
  17. How are you putting the freon in? Using gauges or just putting it in with a hose? If the compressor is cycling on and off it most likely wont get cold until it stays locked.
  18. headlight switch maybe? The dash dimmer is in there but just a guess.
  19. Was backing up what you said. All is good.
  20. It js definitely not a noise you can hear. You have test for it with a volt meter that reads mili volts. Mike posted a link to the test in the the 2nd post that describes the process quite well. It is easy to do with the right meter.
  21. It originates from the alternator.
  22. Get one that goes to 30 psi. The shoot for between 14 and 20 psi at all times.
  23. We got that one already covered.
  24. Did you get another one? Curious as to how you fixed it.
