ATF and 2 stroke in fuel?
The reports I have seen only show 2 stroke mixed at 1/2 oz per gallon. Never saw one that said not to mix it any stronger. As far as bio diesel, I have run alot over the past couple years with no ill affect to the truck. There is alot out east here. The only thing I dont like is anything 5% or less not having to be labeled. 6% and over has to be labeled with 15% be the most common I see. I dont use any 2 stroke when it is labeled. It is more solvent than straight #2 so I try to mix the higher percentage when I can. Sometimes I just dont.

Rebuild or replace steering gear?
386 on mine. They will probably both blow tomorrow just for saying that.

Goose neck adapter
I do like it. But at $900 i would have to think long and hard about. The hitch is $529 and the adapter is $269. My old hitch only take about 5 minutes for me to remove. I would like the pivoting capability though.

Fuel tank and In-tank pump vs engine mounted lift pump help
I had the intank pump for a while in mine and it is no better than the block mounted carter, actually worse in my opinion. It is a different basket than the oe but there are no screens in it. A water seperater filter should be installed like @JAG1 says.

2012 3500 six speed
I was a little surprised that the stocker held up to the Banks tuner my self. That being said a clutch upgrade cannot hurt and is better than finding out the replacement is not as good as the oe.

How many miles on your oe clutch? If it is not slipping and you plan on staying stock I would see no reason not to put the same one back in. If you are thinking about adding power then an upgrade would be in order. My oe clutch in the 02 lasted 250k. I dont tow often but heavy when I do and I never slipped the stocker even with a 75hp tuner.

Vp44 would this issue guys
someone correct me if I am wrong, the sensor below the ECM is the oil pressure switch. The cam sensor is behind the VP.

Im pulling my hair out!! need some different idea's on whats wrong..... injectors???????
I have seen a lot of folks having issues as Mike describes. Boogles my mind as to why I have not had them. I did pick up an intermittent miss on hard throttle a while back but it just went away over 3 or 4 weeks. Do not know why it occurred or why it stopped.

Goose neck adapter
I Have seen this before but is there not an adapter you have to put on the trailer to fit the ball? Or am I just to blind to see it?

How Noisy is Your Engine at Idle?
I dont know about an auto being any quieter, it is still a Cummins. Mine is like described above, Quieter in the summer and on 2 stroke or bio diesel. I also try to have conversations around the tailgate when the engine is running.

Rebuild or replace steering gear?
Not me. All I can seem to find is seal kits.

Which fuel pump should I get?
It is not going to hurt anything to leave the old lines and pump. You ought to get a big line kit to replace the restrictive banjo bolts. This allow the fuel to flow better from the filter to the VP. Vulcan performance has a good one. Guess I should have gone to page 2 before posting that.

The oe lift pumps were not a great design. They are notorious for not providing enough pressure for the VP causing them to fail. I did not learn any of this until after I lost my ECM and joined this forum. With only 87k on the truck and if the rest of it is in good shape either of the parts, while pricey, is a small price to pay to keep it on the road. But if it turns out to be the vp a new fuel system would be in order. At least a FP gauge so you can keep an eye on that OE pump pressure. And if it turns out you do want to sell it, you would have no problem doing that. i would love to see 87k again. I am just 299k beyond that.

P1689 - 1999 Ram 2500 - Idle @ 800rpm & start easy- touch pedal rpm jumps to 1400????
Are you still on the original VP? And are you still running the stock style lift pump? The reason I ask is my original VP went at 75k though it acted differently than yours. My ECM went at 217k and one of the symptoms was as you described. Do you know anyone you could borrow an ECM from to swap out and see what happens? Both the ECM and the VP are pricey parts to buy and throw at the problem without being sure. By the way Welcome to the forum.

Airdog 150 issue
Check your batteries too. Weak batteries will make these truck do weird things also.

Airdog 150 issue
The AD should have come with a wiring harness with a relay. The harness should also have a connection for the oe pump connector to plug into it. This allows the load to be taken off the ECM and just uses the oe for a trigger to close the relay. The power source for the pump should be off of the battery, PDC, or similar ower source. But if the ECM is acting up it will interfere with that function since the relay is using the ECM for a trigger. here is my AD relay and fuse set up. Is your WTS light delayed when the pump is delayed?

How is your return line tee and the return fitting on the back of the head? Simple thing but these cause a lot of hard start issues. There are other culprits but these are simple to fix.

Airdog 150 issue
I think you ought to check and see if you have proper voltage going to the pump while this is happening and see if you are getting the full voltage to the pump. Seems odd a new pump would act the same as the old pump but the old pump started to work right before the change.

You dont have to open anything up. Just unplug the wiring connector and connect to the pins. It is all on the Blue Chip Diesel site. Have you looked there for the procedure?
