  1. I have seen those, just not convinced they are the same as the oe. Spicer has a more expensive one that might be. But who really knows. If the ones you link last over 100k that is pretty good for 00-02 trucks from what I have read. If it wasn't such a big job to do I wouldn't matter as much to me.
  2. It seems I wind mine up a good bit tighter while towing than you. The weight difference is probably our biggest differences. I usually run mine to 24-2500 rpm before shifting. I dont think mine would like me shifting that low with 15k on it. Not sure how the HO vs SO makes a difference either.
  3. What kind of RPM are turning at 50mph in 5th? Mine only sees about 1500 in 6th at that speed. I know I am heavier that you when towing which makes a good difference. I usually dont use 6th until 60+ mph.. 60 mph in 6th is usually where I see my temps climb pretty high. What kind of RPM are turning at 50mph in 5th? Mine only sees about 1500 in 6th at that speed. 4. I replaced everything form the drag link out with Moog about 4 and 1/2 years ago and it is still holding up. Of course as soon as I did all the work I started hearing nothing good about Moog. Mine is still tight except for the right lower ball joint that has a touch of play in it. The track bar only lasted about 70K and was shot. But at $80 I just put another one on since it is not a hard job to do. I just cant bring my self to put $350 + into a track bar. As far as the rest of the I have been looking at the same Mopar part you are looking at though I believe I have read the you need 17" wheels of cut part of the ball stud off on the TRE for it to fit. Not sure about that with the Mopar part but it would worth checking on. Quad $X$ has a what they call the OEM ball joint kit for $250. My OEM's last near 200k and if it is the same(who knows for sure)I will probably use those next time. The upper is greasable the lower is not.My thought on the greaseable vs no is that the OEM was not greaseable and I got very good life out of them. + it is just one less maintenance item for me to worry about. I keep hearing about the Synergy kit for the 2nd gen's, but have heard nothing about the cost. I am thinking they are going to be very proud of though.
  5. I am running a 4" turbo back with straight thru muffler to a 5" tip. There is not enough drone out of it the make it an issue for me. I have had for it 275k miles now and it still works fine. It was part of the Banks Stinger Plus system I put on it when the truck came out of warranty.
  6. Sitting here reading this wondering if I was the only one that noticed that. On a different note I put Moog under the whole front end about 4 maybe 5 years ago and other than a little play in the drivers ball joint they seem to holding up just fine. Maybe I got these before they went south on quality. The track bar with the the big joint last about 75K and I have had to replace it.
  7. I agree with you 100% on the longevity I have seen with mine. My truck is on the highway 97% if the time. Conditions on the site are not the best when we first start out but for the most part on the CFA's I build I show up and park the truck. No need for it on a 1.5 acre site. The Love's is different with a 25 acre site too much ground to cover sometimes. Never done alot of 4 wheelin. It is fun though.
  8. I was just taking it one step at a time. Filing it would have come to me. Might have meant one more trip to the hardware store. Where did you get the FEP tubing?
  9. Just thinking out loud but you could put a tee in the bottom and use that for a drain and not mess with the fitting.
  10. Mine all have 374k on them. Keep thinking I ought to change them but they are tight and other things have taken precedence over them.
  11. I was surprised when I first got my gauge how long it took to get heat in the tranny. I saw 30 miles or a touch more before the gauge moved with cool weather.
  12. Mine is tucked right against the windshield. I installed it not long after I replaced the dash and could not bring myself to put any hole in it. i have grown accustom to it so there she stays.
  13. I like the heat shield. been thinking of how to do a shield that did not involve welding and this is a good idea. I also like your 3 gauge pod on the dash. I have the same set up. Though my FP gauge is still in the A pillar mount. I was pleasantly surprised at how visible the gauges are on the dash. I get a little glare on a sunny day but not enough to bother me. I am going to swap out my triple A pillar pod for a double and use the lower for my EB switch or some thing. Just want to open up the vision a little.
  14. I thought Dobermans pinched. I did not know they punched.
  15. Mike, I was mainly speaking of being empty other than the reference to the 220* temps. Towing we cannot compare due to the trailers we pull. Night an day difference. But we are not that far apart empty. I am a little warmer but getting up to temp is very similar.
  16. Had that problem a while back but dont remember how it was solve. The solution came from the site. You must report the site. I dont remember how to do that either.
  17. The hottest I have seen is right at the 220* mark. That was on a hot day towing in 6th. Not pulling steep grades with my foot matted by any means but some inclines. Just curious what you tow think how the 2 tranny would compare. Should there be that much difference in the two at highway speeds? Mid gears maybe since that seems to be the difference between the two.
  18. I went the internet rebuild route 6 years ago and it was a terrible experience. I would personally recommend going thru Cummins to get one. Though I have seen some posts on CF of rebuilds that have been succesfull and decent prices thru dealers. Just dont have any experience with this as of late. Seems some folks have also had success with used ECMs. Still a crap shoot IMHO. I think it is a matter of money or how much risk you can take. Sorry not to be of any more help than that.
  19. There is a sensor in the VP that monitors fuel temp? There has to be something the Quad reads it from.
  20. I seem to see about 20* more than you. Could just be the different trannys or driving habits. One thing that I do have i common with you is how long it takes to put heat into the tranny. Typically I will see anywhere from 20 to 30 miles before the temp comes off of the 100* mark. On some occasion it has taken even longer.
  21. Did not know there was a fuel temp sensor on the engine or fuel system. Did you have to add a sensor?
  22. 1 3 and 4 are the ones I crack. Just the easiest to get too. Got close to doing the same a week ago. I knew I was low coming home but decided to fuel up in the am on the way to work. I put in 35 gallons. Too close for comfort.
  23. You would be right. Walking Dead. My wife loves it and I tolerate it. Not worth getting my hand shot off trying to change the channel. Then the show after that is Talking Dead where a group sits around talking about the latest show. That one is almost worth getting your hand shot off for. The last 3 jobs I have done the only tv I have had has been what I could pull off the airwaves and DVD's. Although I do miss it, it has not been as bad as I thought it would. It would not bother me to get rid of it and save the money. No way my wife would make it.
  24. Sounds like the walking dead are getting closer by the day.
  25. Pretty big salt lick for one goat dont you think.
