  1. The p500 just means you spun your tires somewhere unless you speedo is not working. Then the sensor is probably bad. The 1693 is just a companion code letting you know there is a code in the other computer. The 1694 I am not sure of, if your cluster is working properly . Might have been there if you did not have the switch on while checking the codes, someone else might have to correct one on that. Electronics is not my strong The jerking you are describing is very much like what I experienced before changing my VP. I heard it described as bucking when i experienced it. Under load and it was like you swithced the truck on and off for a split second. It was intermittant and ususally happen in 5th or 6th under load. It is briefly dexcribe here http://www.bluechipdiesel.com/vp44_diagnostics.html about 3/4 of the way down, red header, under intermittant skip. Google bucking vp44 and you can see some other descriptions of what i am speaking of and compare to what you are experiecing.
  2. cooler egt's are a good thing, especially on a long haul. more boost is also desirable on that same haul.
  3. Your arent going toave to burn the carbon every week or so. I move my trailer about every 3.5 months. When I took my oe injectors off with 235k on them they were pretty clean. I dont thik you cna over cook them, but I would think 3 or 4 times a year should be enough. Unless you have the oportunity to do it more often. It cant hurt them.
  4. always put you rpressure gauge after all filtration so you know what the true pressure the VP is seeing.
  5. I did change the oil before I came to Iowa and could have dribbled some. I was just thinking oil cooler so it should leak oil, wasnt thinking coolant. I shall clean it up and keep an eyeball on it. I just did not want to have to deal with coolant in the oil. Looks like a nasty mess to contend with. I appreciate the input.
  6. I noticed while looking under my hood that I have a small leak around the oil filter head where it attaches to the block. The oil cooler is here and I am wondering if this is a problem with the cooler gasket. Is this something I should address imediately or is it something I can wait on for a few thousand miles until I get home? I really dont want to deal with water in the oil, but dont really have every thing I need here in Iowa.
  7. That is making me think it is a vp/fuel problem. Mine starting doing the same thing though maybe not as often. I had my truck checked out at a fairly reputable diesel shop in Maryland. They never could figure out what was wrong, except low fuel pressure. At the time I did not know about the fuel problems with these trucks, but read about it later. Get your codes checked and see what you have. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? if so what pressures are you seeing at idle and wide open throttle under lo
  8. I knew there would be some young whippersnapper, puddle jumping, motorcycling guy out there that would set me straight. Hello ISX. He is your 12v man.
  9. Are you experiencing this slipping/jerking upon engagement or under load? by load i mean heavy throttle.
  10. My 24v tstat just has a rubber gasket that fits atound the tstat. No upper and lower, just one that fits over the lip of the tstat. Idont know about the 12v though.
  11. Have you checked for any trouble codes? Your underside looks similar to mine. I dont see any oil droplets hanging fron the bell housing, just some streaking like possibly the wind is blowning it onto the back of the engine from a leaking oil pan. I had my rear mainseal replace about 10 months ago along with the clutch, but it looks similar to yours and I do believe mine is coming off of the oil pan. When you say it is jerking are you sure it is not the engine cutting in and out under heavy throttle. I have had bucking in the past, but that was engine/injector pump and not clutch related. Just throwing that out there. If your rear main seal is putting oil on the clutch that could be the cause too.My stock clutch held up to everything I gave it except the rv's. I installed them after replacing the clutch, but pulled a 15k# 5th wheel wide open in any gear with no problem.
  12. From the cost you are quoting I'd try the grass for free. Just remember them decency laws. I dont think any of us know a bondsman in Australia.
  13. Not trying to say that at all. I have had many conversations with Chip myself before I bought one of his pumps. He also tried to help me when the ecm went out before I got to install said pump. He spent alot of time on the phone with me trying to help find the problem before I knew the ecm was fried. He seemed very genuine with me and did not have to help at all, but took alot of time to try and help me with my problem and get me back n the road. I am just curious how it turns out. From my experience with him he should take it back no problem. Only time will tell.
  14. You dont reckon the jam nut on the regulator came loose? I set my ADII at twenty and it has settled into 19. over the months.
  15. I'd spin the opposite way if I had to buy a pack of smokes or a turkey at those prices. I hope they make scale wages down under.
  16. I guess that did not solve your problem. I will be interested in seeing if Chip takes the pump back.fuel filters good? kink in a fuel line? somehting starving the engine of fuel?
  17. What does it cost to slip and slide over, uhh maybe under there?
  18. I have dynatrail 235 85r 16's load range g. I believe i paid near $800 for them. They better last a looooooong time.I have had them for 2 years, but only have maybe 5k on them.
  19. You are welcom. let us know how it goes.
  20. My filter canister is differant than yours. My supply comes of the bottom , thats why it looks so diffierant. the big line kit just replaces that line no matter where it is. I installed a tapped tee in that line and used a needle valve, barely cracked open to protect the gauge from water hammer. You dont have to install it there, I think where you have yours installed works for alot of folks, we will have to let them pass there opinions though. My canister does not have an outlet like yours. Either way you do it you should be ok as long as you get your reading after the filter. The polyon hose is 1/8".
  21. You talking about Slim Whitman or ACK.....ACK.....ACk.?
