  1. He did install brand new Bosch injectors per the original post.
  2. Stkock truck should not require them. I just did mine 15k miles ago and all is well. Faulry parts or install maybe the blame.
  3. I would suspect a boost leak. You can make a cap to fit the intake of the turbo with an air fitting. then put 10 or so pounds of air to it. You maybe able to hear it if not use some soapy water to spray all the joints in the pipe. Spray the intake plenum and joint on turbo. Then just look for air bubbles. It is a fairly simple test to confirm a leak or eliminate it as the problem. Do you have a boost gauge? Also welcome from just down the road.
  4. Pretty sure LMC Truck has them.
  5. i googled them and see a lot of info on them, but thats about all I can say.
  6. Definitely not something i have experienced nor would have thought of.
  7. So it started fine nose up or down?? Just a bit confused as to how you wrote that.
  8. Reread my post and some of smoke issues are due to a boost leak also though I typed it badly. But even before it was smokier than I like. If all goes well a Quad and some new injectors will be in my early next years future. No more smoke.
  9. Should be able them at a diesel shop nearby if you have one. Might be worth a try after all else you have done. I still believe its in the fuel system some where.
  10. Faulty MAP sensor will, greatly reduce power but it should go past 2000 rpm. Just had trouble with mine a bit back with similar results but it would go past 2000 but slowly. Prety much gutless.
  11. When mine was doing it I saw no fuel on the manifold. But you would think it would be there. Small enough leak not see the fuel maybe but let air in is possible but I was surprised with how shitty mine got there for a while that I did not see fuel on the manifold.
  12. They smoked a bit pre Comp and more adding it. A bit out of control right now do to boost that I will find when this jobs done and get home for a couple weeks. No coal rolling by any means but much more than I like to see and not just off idle. Having to control it with my right foot for now. That sucks too.
  13. Thats pretty young to be worn out. Unless you might of damged one or when you installed them. I did see some damage to mine when mine was hard starting. And I had pulled those tubes a couple times without replaceing the o rings. Weak batteries or starter can mimick the issue but the nose up and down thing points to the fuel system.
  14. I dont like the smoke mine puts the rv 275's and comp right now. Never have understood the coal rolling. But I dont kind the dust it stirs up while passing the the left lane riders while in the right lane. Thats kind of fun.
  15. That on its own I would not think so. I get a bit spirited myself at times. Mine had a lot miles on them when they failed, 100k+ maybe. Any idea how old yours are?
  16. I dont know any way to test them. They are fairly easy to change though and cheap to buy.
  17. Never any bounce on my AD. Pressure drop on acceleration but no bounce. Just leary on the intank pump.
  18. I personally would suspect the in tank pump.
  19. The cross over tube o rings wont mix the oil and fuel. The injector o rings will. My last hard start issues were the cross over tube o rings.
  20. Wlecome from the right side of the country.
  21. As one member said here long ago, I bought a Cummins. Its not my fault a Dodge came wrapped around it. The Dodge part has been good to me over the years so I cant complain. It has held up well for most part. And unless I have some sort of major failure I will just keep driving it. Its true I dont haul stuff in it every by any means ut it has never to get whatever I put to where it needs to go. So at 483k and God knows how many hours of idling she still runs strong.
  22. It updates the programming in the ecm. The dealers have been doing for quite a while. I know you can do it with a Smarty too like @Me78569 says but what all changes is over my head.
  23. That does suck, just have not experienced that with mine.
  24. I hauled 2 cubes of brick in my a few back at 5k pounds. I place them one against the front of the bed and the other over the rear axle and just behind. The front cube's bands broke so i was able to keep most of that cube forward. The rear cube sat about 30% forward of the axle and 70% rear of the axle. If I was to load all the weight rear of the axle I could understand that causing problems. Precisely why I tried to spread the load out. I have also hauled 12' hacks of lumber in mine when needed. Fortunately those were short hauls because to much weight is hanging out the rear of the bed. Weight disttribution and distance is key factor in how I have loaded mine over the years with no results as I see in your picture. I am in construction, as maybe you are, and am called on to haul tnings to the job. Short trips I will pile it on. But long hauls like the brick do fine woth the load forward as much as possible.
