Hmm I’ll have to admit I’m loving the quiet turbo but dang clearly the BHAF is better for IAT temps. Of course I could get a Qaud and tune the timing and engine load to quiet the turbo but the budget says no right now.

I agree the cold air intake hype is BS. I put a OEM intak back in becuase I wanted a quieter turbo and I got it. I’m keeping a very close eye on the filter and box to ensure no warping or cracking. If this happens I will switch back to BHAF.

It’s the switch. But I broke it so it’s my fault. Appreciate the willingness to make it right though! That goes a long ways! So it’s perfectly normal for it to be rather chattery and doggy when cold?

Is there a way to test VP44 health when there is no codes? My truck ran like crap this morning. Very chattery and doggy. I’m wondering if my VP isn’t going south. It started pretty well but was pretty chattery for only 25 degrees. Scanned for codes and got nothing.

Uh oh is airdog customer service going downhill? Is the t a brand new pump?

I’m kind of thinking I will try 5W-40 this time. Just to see how it is with engine noise and performance. Mike what’s your input on injectors making differences in sound vs stock?

Better on the seat with a few bruises than on the ground with a broken arm! wonder if it would help to spray bedliner stuff on the grip pads...

It will be well worth the investment to get a new system. When I was at that spot when I needed a lift pump I had a hard time convincing myself to get a good setup but I’m happy I did what I did.

I suggest trying a new one temporarily and then getting a Airdog system. I had an airtex when I bought my truck that failed. I’m lucky I didn’t ruin my VP44

What oil do you run?

What lift pump do you have right now? Have you verified it is working properly?

I have noticed recently that my truck sounds nothing like half the other 24 valves I come across? What makes them sound different? The only difference I can think of is HO vs SO? Obviously 5 vs 4 and stock exhaust systems will have some impact still they’re is a large difference. Mods in sig.

I will be running conventional this oil change for 1 reason. I bought 2 extra gallons while changing oil in someone’s 12 valve so I might as well use it and not return it. I think I will jump right back to synthetic though. Prob will continue running what the P.O. did. Rotella T6
