  3. I don’t see why you couldn’t use a pice if gorilla tape or something else to hold it down? I don’t have an auto trans so I can’t help anywhere else. Do you dhave I’ve much bumpy roads? Maybe worn out o ring around dipstick head?
  4. Posi lock maybe? Problably better of getting aused axle from a donor truck or parts house. You could pick one up for under 500$ pretty easy.
  5. I need a new heater core but I don’t wanna install it! Haha. At least I’m skinny. My dash is cracked but not busted out. I’ll problably glue it back together and grab a Ultimat dash may from Geno’s to cover up.
  6. I did my power steering and vacuum pump believing that’s where my oil leak was coming from. Very simple to do but I still have a oil leak! Good thing is it’s a natural rust inhibitor. But I hate oil leaks and I want to fix it. Fairly certain I put the seal between vac pump and gearcase in wrong or something I’m just to lazy to fix it. It’s coming from that general area. Was that a Napa parts guy?

  8. Well I got lucky and got some side work! I have to replace a lower control arm and find a water leak source and fix it. This a 95 12 valve Cummins. Also detailing the same guys suburban. Any tips on control arm and water leak? Thinking water pump or cracked hoses. Control should be strait forward I hope.

  11. Thanks Mike for that info! Good to know. Helps with getting a better understanding of timing. I think at this point I’m going to forget about the truck. Yes it may be cheap but like @dave110 said it has likely been well thrashed being the engine, Trans, and rear end were all rebuilt below 200k. Really appreciate the advice becuase had I not postedninprob would have bough the truck this weekend and wish I hadn’t the next. If I could get side jobs for the evenings changing oil and brakes I would jump in it! I live in a rather rural area and I’m problably a little dumb to do that kind of stuff without insurance and stuff. Mike I’m waiting for when Qaudzilla comes out with they’re permanently mounted screen. If that comes soon with an affordable price point I’ll start saving for it!

  13. It’s in pretty decent shape. No rust. Minimal body damage. But your right sounds like the drive train was thrashed.
  14. Manual. I’m not to worried about the 2wd thing becuase it will be more of a play truck and I have a 4wd 24 valve Sorry I meant auto.
  15. Looking for advice whether I should buy and flip or keep this truck. 1997 12 valve 345k Miles 170on rebuilt engine and trans and rear end. Runs good shifts good. Needs hood bumper and radiator which he will throw in for 3500$ Has fiberglass cap and is 2wd. Buy it or nah?

  18. Well I can’t raise timing without the Qaud and I can’t afford that.
  19. I figured since I’m not much into performance the stock air cleaner would be more than sufficient if a quality element is installed.
  20. I have a feeling mike is correct about the bhaf making the racket. I found a used oem airbox for 100$ that is on the way. Love the turbo sound but now that I’m driving 50 miles a day I need to quiet this rig down.

  22. Hmm it don’t sound normal to me but it’s jot like it’s causing problems either. How would the truck like an XZT with the 75s? Smoky for sure hit would it lag? Why is my timing retarded?
  23. It sounds just like wind in a tunnel. Goes right alongside turbo boost. Stops when letting off the throttle and starts when getting into it consistently. IC boots look fine. Very little shaft play. What could cuase this? Thanks!
  24. Myself along with my coworker believe it’s not valve stems as well. We are thinking injectors somewhere. Crushes o rings etc. gotta do a reinstall on them and see what happens. Cheap stuff gonna get checked first.
