Bulk Oil Buying... Transfer pumps for Crankcase oil
Get a 1 gallon jug and pour a gallon into it from the 5 gallon bucket while you are on the ground. Otherwise, I would just get a manual pump from mccmaster carr.

Interesting logic. I would like to think it can all be turned around though and it's good to see W&F is trying.

I don't understand the whole "party" deal. To me you look at an issue and decide what is best for the country. If we are going to have people choose sides (parties) then you really have no ethical input on the matter. MYY idea of government is one set up like it is now with one house having equal representation and one representing the population of the state. There will be no political parties. Their job will consist of going in and seeing an issue, collaborating on the issue, and either getting rid of it or passing it. In theory if all points of the issue are gone over with the pros and cons of each point being discussed, then the vote should be almost unanimous. They should be based on the ethics the country was founded on and your personal ethics being you grew up in this country. There should be no buddying up or any of that other crap they seem to do for reasons unbeknowst to me. The other thing is that people need to evolve. Someone can be set on their decision even if it is full of cons just so they don't look like they weren't smart for seeing the cons in the beginning. I deal with this everyday, people tell me I am not consistent but the more I learn the more pros I might see in an idea I once didn't support so I then support the idea. People in government are alway set on one way and they never change, even if the idea is complete crap. I have no idea why they do this. Ideas that people do not unilaterally agree on in government are probably mostly the result of misinformation or lack of it. How else would laws that make us pay for robbers injuries get through. That's my 1/2 cent. I don't watch the news much so maybe I am wrong lol.

Rebuilding MoparMom's Computer
You said Vista ran a lot lighter than 7, yet now you say you hit 4GB. With the usual million tabs open on opera, excel running, google chrome running another million tabs, and other crap, I still keep it under 4 easily. Doesn't really matter since I have 8 to use. Windows 7 runs more efficiently from what I can tell, what you said just proves it since all your tricks still can't keep it from loading up the RAM. Here is what I see 99% of the time. However!, I do want to see you focus your camera on the screen and just stroll around on Linux to show how it all works and navigates and where stuff is. Screenshot looks fancy so I want to see what else there is.

Rebuilding MoparMom's Computer
I think Linux and Mac computers are great. However, I absolutely hate them because I don't understand them but the way they work and how nothing affects them is juts marvelous. It is good that most schools are getting kids started on macs rather than windows because that is the reason I am with microsoft since that's what I grew up with. I was on it at 3.1 so have evolved along with it. Trying to jump into a Mac after it has already evolved is a big undertaking that I don't want to mess with. I am a robot when it comes to reinstalling windows so that isn't the issue. I set everything up so I can format and reinstall when the thing gets slow and then it is just like new again. I have never got a virus unintentionally (clicked on email attachments that I shoulda known was a virus). That means I really have nothing against windows. I love XP and everything about it. I like a lot of the new things that 7 does though some things are a little overdone to the point of becoming in the way. I like fancy stuff so the more graphical stuff the better lol. My sister is the apple person of the family. Has the iphone and ipad and all the other crap they make. The thing I don't understand is how the whole apple stuff works, how to navigate about it, anything. To me the iphone is featureless. I can scroll through the crap on my HTC for a long time but I only see like 20 things on her iphone. Why she wanted an ipad is completely unknown to me because I swear it is identical to her iphone. Same everything on both so I really don't get it. I like that I can install anything on my phone, no matter how unstable it might be from the shady developers, same with windows applications. I also don't understand the cost of apple products. However, if I could redo life, I would start on a mac. Until then, bring on windows! Ehhh except for windows 8. I loaded the developer preview on my computer, what a joke. I don't understand the point of it. I realize it's made for cell phones but my cell phone has more features than it had as a desktop version. Windows 7 is good enough to be a windows XP endurance clone, as in they will just let it ride for 10 years or however old XP is until they can come up with something completely different (vista at that time).

injector shims
I'll have to dig up where I got the tester later on but I had planned to get a 24V adapter and couldn't find it anywhere. I looked and looked and said screw it. I would start looking for that first..
-
injector shims
Yeah 32 ft lbs, make sure the threads are clean and put a dab of oil on them.
-
injector shims
They put different washer thicknesses in to get the exact pop pressure that they need. Some injectors can get away with 1 standard size some need 2 different standard size shims. I cleaned JOHNFAK's up for him and they were the stock ones and half of them had 2 shims as well. Oddly enough, if you measured the 2 shims together, their thickness was the same as the 1 shim in the other injectors. I don't know if cummins was out of the single thick shim or what I made this just now for you. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOXmZkpOIY8

Timing Effects
I never thought of that! Time to go to the big forums and ask them.
-
Timing Effects
I know it's at rated RPM. But they are noisy at any RPM. I used to drive a 2002 6spd at work and I would short shift it just so I wouldn't have to listen to it. If the CR is that retarded then that makes perfect sense as to why they are so quiet. Mine was really quiet when the timing was really retarded. What is this UDC thing?
-
Timing Effects
There is a part to this that just doesn't add up. At the top of this thread there is a chart showing that retarded timing decreases NOx output. It is obvious that a 24V runs it's timing much more advanced than a 12V by the way that they knock. Now looking here http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1543&d=1281643335 we see that Mike's 2002 has a NOx output of 3.8 and a particulate matter output of 0.10. My truck on the other hand http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Engine%20Pull/IMG_0430.JPG has a NOx output of 4.8 and a particulate matter output of 0.09. This would indicate that my timing is much more advanced than a 24V, but that is surely not the case by how a 24V knocks. Now the 24V runs a higher pop pressure on the injectors. I don't know what it is but a 12V is 260 bar and I think a 24V is 310. Fuel that is atomized more will ignite faster because the atomized particle requires less heat to become hot enough to ignite. This means a 24V has advanced timing due to injector pressures. However, it isn't the timing that I think does it, I think it is the better atomization that reduces NOx. NOx is a huge emissions thing and new trucks are running upwards of 20,000psi so there has to be something relating to NOx and atomization. Now I don't know why the 24V's are so advanced if advancing increases NOx. There is hardly enough difference in engine design to say that something else is causing the incredible knocking sound. The new cummins' don't make a sound. I know they have multiple injections but even the first CR's are quiet. Soo why are only the VP trucks so advanced on timing? Then the chips you put on them advances it even more. By the way they sound it is like they are running 20* advanced, or more. I think there is something else going on but I don't know what.

injector shims
I can't see any reason they would be different diameters. Thickness is what makes all the difference.

Weird Science...
Damnit marblecrusher with your mouse signature! Anyways it is simple to do. Basically the water needs a "disturbance" to be able to freeze which starts off some crystal lattice (ice) forming crap. Distilled water has nothing in it, so it has no disturbances. Combine that with a perfectly smooth bottle of water and you have the perfect setup. Any dirt in the water will cause it to freeze. Any movement of the water will cause it to freeze. I left a bottle in the truck one night when it got to 10F and I came back and looked at it wondering how it didn't freeze. I backed up 10ft and looked back down and it was frozen. You can do it in the freezer you just have to keep from moving it, so putting it in at night and being the first to open the freezer door would be key. Another interesting thing is taking boiling water outside when it is really cold and just throwing it in the air. It turns to steam instantly. Has to be something to do with the particles of water being cooled very quickly, but I can't wrap my mind around what. I've tried this as well though, works even at 20F, most said it had to be a lot colder.

Upset Facebook parent...
I see this a few different ways.. He called his daughter a lazy ^*&*@&$)(*$@( for calling them *^*&)*(....welllll maybe that's where she gets it? Now it is one thing if they treat each other like that at home but her publicizing it was way over the top. But then again, that's what you do on facebook. It's not really over the top in today's world. Every post I see on facebook pretty well shouldn't be posted. I could care less if you ran out of hot water today or forgot to buy toast. You get the picture. Now looking at his facebook, he is just as bad. Facebook is a way to get attention, no matter how stupid the things are you think of. I saw a guy on facebook post "..." as his status once, I never saw something so pathetic in my life. Facebook is sort of a way to say things that you are thinking, and not really have any consequences. That is how kids think of it anyways. They forget that their parents can read everything and other people will tell your parents what you said and yadda yadda plus things can be taken many different ways. It was something to connect with friends in the beginning, but geeeez there are so many things that you DON'T want to know are happening with your friends. Perfect example is my uncle. He is the boss of a mining company, has a nice house in a subdivision, is a really great guy really. You talk to his daughter, she is the same way. On facebook, f*** is about all she says. Now kids talk to each other like that, it makes them feel "cool" I guess, but facebook makes it so everything you say is publicized, which wouldn't be a problem if kids didn't use it as a personal chat with someone that is openly viewable. I guess it's just drama that people want these days. That guy got a ton of views and a lot of input out of his video, which all adds up to just more drama. In person I wonder if she is really like that because he has a pic of him all cowboy'd up 2 days ago that she supposedly took and he said she was wonderful or something for taking it. That makes me think the whole thing is just a sham to get attention. Personally, I could care less what people say on facebook. I know it is really a misrepresentation of people and is just them wanting to get some drama out of life at the moment, cause why else would people be on facebook if they had something fun to do. This is part of the reason I don't ever post anything at all on there, just for sheer guilt of saying I have nothing to do by posting something. But it is absolute BS how kids post such profane stuff when they KNOW they have added their granny and aunt sally and... I have my aunt on there who let me stay with her for 2 weeks while I took an elective, she is verrry nice and a great role model and there is no way I would ever fill her facebook "wall" with profane stuff that I said. It is a sense of respect to her I suppose, along with all the other people on there who don't want to see it. There will always be choices in life, and that is why kids are all very different. Some won't post that on facebook, some will, in any case, there will always be someone doing something bad or good somewhere, it is just humanity. This guys vid just makes you realize that it still holds true today.

Injector Pop Pressure
I have nothing to lose so I am gonna try a few things lol. These are 5x10.25 injectors (215) so it only has 5 spraying.
-
Injector Pop Pressure
Yes but it still leaks and that's less than my standard lol. It would shoot just a stream no matter how hard I pumped it before so at least it's a lot better now, but I still want to get it perfect. I don't want to buy new tips yet, I think I can fix these. I will have to check that shim thing out.

Injector Pop Pressure
Welllll, I think I need to get advanced..
-
Injector Pop Pressure
I got a pop tester finally and got around to testing all my injectors today. They say 260 bar (3771 PSI) on them but they all popped at 210 bar. These are the OEM 215 injectors. One of them was bad and did not "pop", it simply started opening up at around 200 bar and it would just stay open like a hose so that one really had no atomization going on. I will get video of it and a good one so everyone can see. I was actually hoping for a bad one so thank god I got one. I'll get video and stuff tomorrow.

Does anybody understand youtube?
The only other thing I can think of is it was too long. It only accepts 500 characters or something, including spaces. I have had to reply to myself 5 times once to help a guy out

Does anybody understand youtube?
YouTube won't accept URL's in the comments so if it contains one it won't take it.

Bolt Sizes
I spent a while back when this thread was made looking at them and most are a lower grade bolt. Allen bolts are 12.9 but the stainless variant was lower. I couldn't really find anything better. Still haven't done any of this.

Wifi vs. 1gbps
Yeah I'm not too involved into how it all works lol. I have 160gb to transfer across the two 1000gbps computers and was just testing to see how long it would really take. I have a mbps meter and it is bumping around at 100-250mbps while all of it is transfering so it is definitely capable of using the 1000mbps speeds.
-
Wifi vs. 1gbps
Thought I would share this as it was kinda neat. I have a LAN speed test program that benchmarks how long and how fast a file of a set size takes to go somewhere and back. I simply share a folder on another computer and then it sends a file back and forth between it. 2 computers communicate with a 1gbps connection (1000mbps) and then moms on her laptop through wifi and I also have wifi on this computer to optionally use. Here were the results from benchmarking. As you can see, if you have a fast internet connection, wifi will hinder it big time. Thankfully most websites don't seem to put out more than 5mbps, but bigger downloads could really be hurt. The 1000mbps connection pretty well makes your hard drives the big slowdown factor. I think this new wireless N thing would be good if it was as fast as it says. Obviously my hard drives are not fast enough for 1000mbps connection but I can max out a 100mb connection. Thing is, wifi runs at 54 and you can see it wasn't anywhere near that and she is only 20ft from the router, if that. The wireless N is said to run at 400mbps but if you use the same logic being 54/8=6.75x slower, then 400 would be only 59mbps, or basically what the 54mbps one is supposed to promise. It's incredible really. Wifi to Wifi is just flat out crap. Our internet is 4mbps so it just barely gets within the limits, but that means the other 90% of people with faster internet are actually slowed down by their own wifi. You guys can also see the latency comparison. Anyhow, thought it was neat and didn't know how many people actually knew about the actual speeds of these things.
