  1. I wondered about the same thing with the prestart oil pressure. Here is my thread on it. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/3084-Electric-Oil-Pump
  2. That or this. http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/p-4599-quadzilla-pulse-control-monitor-pcm1000.aspx Tom's was the user manual for it.
  3. Welcome to the Forum! It's great to hear we have solved some of your issues. All of the people here have different talents so we always got the bases covered. If you got any questions, post away. Someone will help you in short order in most cases. Nice mileage on your 12V as well! Earning it's keep
  4. I ended up getting a TT at xmas too since sister ended up getting an iphone with gps, I got this tomtom. I guess it was really cheap on black friday. Finally took it to town yesterday and it is definitely nice. The garmin we have is old and the interstate is just one big line. This thing splits the interstate like you see it and splits every little road I have gone on. One thing I really like and would never think twice about is getting one with 3D. It is one thing to be a dot on a flat (2D) surface but 3D makes it basically look exactly like what you see out the windshield, so if you missed the turn then you must have also missed the cummins option and are driving a gasser TT also has user corrections which are uploaded to their site and downloaded to your own. So if you screw up, you can fix it (somehow, I haven't learned how yet) and it will save it and pass it on universally through their site.
  5. The consensus seems to be using Delo, Valvoline Premium Blue or Amsoil Synthetic for engine oil. I personally think they are all equal at over 20F. From 0-20F you start to see a little difference between the first 2 and the amsoil since those aren't synthetic. If your engine has to start in weather under 0F a lot, I would really consider synthetic oil.Oil filters seem to be the cummins brand fleetguards or stratapore. There are some other brands out there that are good. Fuel filters, I just use the NAPA Wix ones but maybe someone has more input on that.
  6. Just get a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and drain the oil into it. Then the oil filter just keep it straight and it won't spill and just dump it into the bucket. A little might spill but not too much. Then cap off the bucket and take it to town, I think all the auto parts stores have a oil dump in the back, just ask them to show you to it. Or find a guy with an oil burner that would love to have it lol.
  7. The gauges are about as inaccurate as they get. I mean when they are on F they are full and E they are empty but in between, who knows. I've gone up to 200 miles with it on the F, then have it seemingly fly down to 1/2, stay there for 200 miles, then fly down to 1/4 and finally slowly drain out to E.
  8. I second that. I could use all the degreaser I wanted on mine but eventually got mad and pulled out the pressure washer. Just remember that it WILL splatter the crap you are cleaning off to your windshield or other unwanted places if you aren't careful.
  9. Yeah I would pull over and stop before trying to measure.
  10. Cajflynn uses delo if that tells you anything I wouldn't buy anything with fram on it. Get fleetguard or at least a NAPA Wix at the bare minimum.
  11. Found something better to do in all this snow.
  12. I have messed with a 24V before..was only trying to show that oil doesn't shoot out like a power washer. But if you want to compare apples to apples just look at Mike's valve adjustment page, his are still full of oil, some of them anyways. http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/2ndgen24v/valve-adj/valve-adj.htm
  13. I think the overhead is way off with the comp turned on. I would be doing it by hand either way. Though it would be pretty obvious if you are only getting 300 miles to a tank. Is this mostly in town low speed non lockup TC driving?
  14. I was wondering about that too. If that is the case I talk about how to do it here http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/802-Emoticons-not-showing-anyone-else-having-a-problem?highlight=WYSIWYG
  15. Do they show on the right side of where you type? Should be able to just click on them and then their code pastes itself to where the cursor was.
  16. I think this will answer all your questions. Might have been a few stray drops when I revved it up. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIF4Nv0ullI
  17. That's one thing we strive to do here. This forum was built on that because a lot of the people here came here for just that reason after getting tired of it on other forums. What we have now is a small forum with people trying to learn or teach others, ensuring that nobody ends up feeling like their problem is a lost cause. With that said, don't hold anything back.. One of your problems could be a problem for several others or just something most people wanted to know but never posted about it.
  18. Damn kids.
  19. What do you mean? You mean the very top little valley where the oil hole is and the oil slowly drips down onto the valve springs? I wouldn't think that would hardly leak down at all. I know mine always has oil there. If you want to check if its plugged just wipe all the oil off and leave the valve cover off and start the truck and watch it, oil should come out that hole. Not much will come out, it will be just enough to put enough oil over the hole to make it look like there isn't a hole there.
  20. This snow has got to be the stickiest crap ever. I wiped some off my dads truck and was like danggggg. I started rolling, and rolling, and next thing you know I had a boulder that I couldn't push anymore. I pushed it with the tractor a little bit before the bucket started scraping snow off. Then I started going up. Sister came out to help, then a guy I know stopped by. Then we needed bigger equipment. My brother brought over his loader though I don't think it went any higher, was nice having a huge bucket though. It didn't go up the greatest since we didn't have a surveyor telling us where exactly the things needed to go and the higher we went up the more the things didn't go where we wanted but it was strong as ever so we kept going. I think it fell at 18Ft. My sister had never used the front end loader so that was interesting. I might make another one, surveying each ball
