No Tach gauge.
That is a great price. After installing mine the hard start seems non-existent. The tach still seems notchy however honestly I never paid attention to it before the sensor failed. I have done a cluster test and it moves smoothly during the test. I suppose eventually I will go back to not staring at my tach and it will be a non-issue again lol. At least the truck is idling and driving smoothly despite what seems like a de-fuel right around 1900-2100rpm occasionally, but other than that it runs good and is showing no codes.

Ball Joints
If you truck has been diagnosed as having a camber problem then adjustable joints may be an option. While they also allow for a few degrees of caster adjustment this should not be an issue since your control arms should be adjustable via a cam adjuster. If your truck ultimately doesn't have an alignment issue that is related to camber then I wouldn't bother with adjustable joints. I hear they are weaker than standard joints also.

lift pump want stop
Certainly is. The voltage regulator for the alternator is also in the ecm from what I hear. People talk about using an external voltage regulator when the factory circuit fails.

Ball Joints
I am running cheapies from Rockauto.com on my Dakota. Unfortunately they messed up on one of the joints and sent me the wrong part (lower) so I ran down to Autozone and picked one up. The Duralast joint from Autozone appeared exactly the same in every way shape and form as the Mevotech joint from Rockauto.com except for the boot. My Ram has Moog ball joints in it, they are still going. Honestly my experiences lately with Moog haven't been great. I went through two Moog track bars in a short amount of time. One lasted about 30k miles and became very loose, this caused loose steering for a while then death wobble. Then the second bar lasted 300 miles and started to wobble. The current one seems to be doing alright so far. The difference in the drag link adjustment between all the bars makes me question quality control. Both times the The warranty was good though.

lift pump want stop
Just assumptions but since they say the ecm can vary the duty cycle of the pump I would assume the h-bridge or supporting components in the ecm have failed. You could create a small harness to turn the lift pump on when the ignition is in the start/run position and just bypass the ecm completely. I am not sure what this would mean for fault detecting in the ecm though. Also it may cause hard starting since the lift pump would be running at max duty cycle when the key is in the start position. If you decided to get crazy with it you could make a small pulse width modulation board and install it in the truck. Pulling in a signal from the camshaft sensors signal wire would allow the module to know when the engine was running and when to increase the duty cycle. Just my 2 cents though. Just babbling.

A/C leaking into cab
When the ac system operates there will be some condensation on the evaporator that should exit a drain on the passenger side of the truck I believe. This drain is probably obstructed. Cleaning the drain and evaporator core area would be the best solution. If there is in your opinion excessive amounts of water then the core could be freezing up and later unthawing. This is usually caused by poor air flow across the evaporator or the system is low on refrigerant. However if you think the system still cools fine then the problem is almost certainly related to the drain. If you think the cooling should be better I would start with cleaning around the evaporator coil and making sure the drain is clear. Should you need to re-charge the system you can get the refrigerant at about any autoparts store even some department stores, just make sure you get a can with a gauge on it.However if the system is low chances are you have a small leak. In order to appropriately fix a leak the system should be reclaimed. Discharging R134A to the atmosphere is still considered illegal despite the fact it has less of an environmental impact as R12.

What oil filter do you use?
I would never trust running oil for 80k miles. In fact anything past 10k is just to much for me to stomach when oil is relatively cheap.

Odd no start
I think the new sensor is definitely giving a stronger signal. I am willing to bet the signal was weak to begin with. The truck sounds different from cranking to idling. On the highway it seems like it picked up power. Although I never would have assumed it lost power because obviously it lost it slowly overtime. However if anyone is ever in the market to replace this sensor pigtail you can find it at: Napa - ECH EC10 Rockauto - AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1P1020

What oil filter do you use?
Honestly I really don't put much thought into it if it isn't a Fram. I have had bad experiences with Fram left and right and wouldn't dare use one on my Ram. Honestly though I have used the Mopar (stocked at Wally World), Fleetguard, Napa, Purolator, etc. I remember reading a page somewhere that showed where this guy dissected 30 oil filters and there were only like 5 manufactures, most of them were just relabeled and repriced.I have thought about a bypass system but I am not so sure it will pay for itself since I change my oil in the normal service interval anyway.

Odd no start
Well the plot thickens even further. I went to the auto parts store today and picked up the CKP sensor they ordered for me. I got home and pulled the starter. Mind you the light has come and gone a few times. After the starter came out I could get a clear view of the CKP sensor in the side of the block and noticed my first issue. This wasn't the first time this sensor has been serviced. Someone had broken the clip on the harness plug and used a zip tie in an attempt to hold it together. There was also some nearly disintegrated electrical tape. I am surprised this repair held together as long as it did. Since there was little I could do at this point I went ahead and pulled the sensor out. I put the new on in and re-wrapped it tightly with electrical tape. I am searching for a 3-prong weather tight connector for it as we speak.Either way with the new sensor in, harness cleaned, and it secured tightly temporarily the truck did seem to start with a more consistent length of time. Hasn't had the tach drop out yet, or started missing at idle.I guess time will tell if the gremlin has left. I don't have anyway to clear the check engine light at the moment so I guess we will see if the computer clears it after a few run cycles.

How to deal with tele-marketers...
That is funny. That was the Echostar call center in Englewood, Co. My wife used to work for the inbound call center in thornton, co and they all where talking about this. They were all talking about this when it happened.

Really grinds my gears
Oh I hear you. It is the same way here. The state is putting people back to work by "improving" the roads. However their improvements are widening existing roads. They aren't fixing the pots holes, warpage, or the well traveled highways and interstates that have buckled though. I am all for putting people back to work but lets use that dollar more responsibly. However it seems no one in my state gives two hoots about this, they are all worried about our "racist" republican congressman. Since he said he wants to trim the budgets by providing ballots only in English half the state is in an uproar. Personally I am for it.

Broke Dana 70
Interesting. I have read in the past that 2500 manual transmission and HO came with a D80 hybrid axle that consisted of a D80 center section with D70 tubes, D70 35-spline axles, and D70 hubs and that the 3500 came with a true D80. However in my glove box the RPO codes show a D80 Hybrid and my truck is a 3500 so who knows.

Little squeak
Mine used to do this when the belt was new, since the mileage has accumulated it has stopped. I'm guessing my now old belt doesn't have that great of traction on the pulleys and hence doesn't squeak when the engine springs back. I am sure it will return when I put a new belt on.

No Tach gauge.
I'm in the same boat it would appear that mine has failed also. I know on my 2000 it is located behind the starter. It is basically a black cylinder with a sheet metal mount/bracket. I called around town to find it. Autozone is special order only around here, AdvanceAuto wants $62.95, Napa wants $60, and I didn't bother calling Cummins but have been told they sell it for $70.

Odd no start
Well I was thinking that very same thing till today when the plot thickened. The OBDII connector was destroyed at Autozone while getting it scanned some time ago, so shooting in the dark here till I get it re-pinned.We drove about 15 miles into town and stopped at the store. When we left the store and fired it up it was fine. I drove to the end of the parking lot and started pulling out on the road and it didn't feel right. The Edge showed everything was ok. Good oil pressure, good fuel pressure, etc. So I pulled over and noticed the check engine light was on. While sitting there with the truck idling I observed the tachometer falling to 0 then rising back up, the engine would miss when it did it. All then sudden the engine went into a lope and it just kept doing it.I turned the truck on and tried the key trick. All it show was P1693 and P DONE. This was oddly similar to a previous experience I had before.About a year ago now when the OBDII port was broken, I had went in because a check engine light that showed up. It was P0336 then, the crankshaft position sensor. However the truck had no signs or symptoms so I thought it may had been just an erratic code. It was cleared and never reappeared.I have a feeling if I re-pin the connector and have it scanned it is going to show the P0336 code again.Makes me wonder if these problems are related in anyway.

Really grinds my gears
I think it is very lacking. Work comp requires drug testing, technically work comp is voluntary. If your injured you have the right to use your insurance so you can see your own doctor or you can elect to use the work comp insurance and see their doctor. If you choose the later you consent to drug testing for the purpose of determining eligibility. I think the same should stand for government assistance programs. If you elect to use them then you also elect to have a county inspector survey your property and other assets, take drug tests, and provide monthly financial records to your local government for the purpose of preventing fraud. Not to mention it all needs to be done randomly. I do not see this as a violation of someones rights. If you don't want them to take a peak at your assets, do drug testing, or pull your financial records then don't elect to use these tax payer funded services.

Really grinds my gears
Just want to vent about this, cause honestly it boiled my blood a bit. I have been in the same line of work for 11 years. I am a chef. For sometime I was doing 2 full time jobs cause my wife lost hers. We made it but barely. I have two kids, well dressed and fed. I don't receive any assistance from the government, do not owe taxes, have no delinquent bills or bad credit. So they hire a house keeper at my work, mind you this is about as low as you can go for my company. It is a minimum wage job, in fact it is the only job in the company that starts at minimum wage. She pulled in for her first days work in a Hummer. Ok, now I don't like to assume there has to be an explanation right? Her husband might have a good job, who knows? Well it was time for break and I went out for a smoke (nasty habit, i know.) There she was blabbing to another house keeper about how her lazy husband doesn't work. Turns out her kid works there also. Same position. Well today they pulled in with an Escalade with huge wheels and low profile tires. Just as the day before she is outside when I take my break. This time she looks at me and starts complaining that her food stamp card (I guess they have a credit card type deal now) wasn't working. I couldn't help it, I looked at her and asked why she needed assistance buying food when she was rolling in with such fancy cars. Her only response to me was "i don't tell you what to drive!" then she walked away. Seriously how to people get away with it and how do they get these vehicles and homes in the first place. Is it really stereotyping for me to think there is identity theft going on when she can drive in with luxury vehicles and complain about a food stamp card? Is it really un-constitutional for an official to spot check people on assistance programs to prevent fraud?

Odd no start
Oddly the problem hasn't happened since. I am sure it will show it's head again just can't say when. If I continue to have problems I may just create a work around system.

... a civil rights issue ?
I agree often times I am quick to complain and not quick to act about issues like this. I will write my representatives immediately.

Odd no start
Thank you for that Mopar1973Man. That clears a few things up. Hopefully it is not my ECM. It is odd how when it decides to do this the pump primes when the key is turned on but afterwards the pump fails to run. My truck has always been finicky on hills but after cranking you can hear the AirDog run. Usually the second try and it fires. My AirDog 150 does have a relay but I doubt it's involvement due to the fact it primes on key on. However I could be wrong.Mind you when parked on level ground it fires on the first turn of the key so I have no doubt my engine is in good shape.

Odd no start
About a week ago my wife went to drive my truck and it wouldn't start. It cranked but didn't even try to fire. Oddly the lift pump (airdog 150) ran when the key was first switched on but not after cranking like it always has. Also weird wad the lack of any attempt to fire. A few minutes later I tried again and it fired right up. Today after getting tires it did it again the techs had to push it out of the shop. Once again after about 15 mins of messing around it fired. Same symptoms. Now's its fine again. The truck runs fine once started, no codes, and its runs 14-15psi of fuel pressure. Reading about the internet I see the asd relay being a potential issue. I hear this supplies power to not only the lift pump but also the injection pump. Does any one have any information about this relay? I am baffled as to why the airdog turns on when the key is first switched on but not after it has been cranked.

... a civil rights issue ?
Some states are providing actual cell phones with actual plans. I have heard plans to provide the poor with broadband internet also.
-
... a civil rights issue ?
No it's not right, no matter who pays for it. Cell phones are a luxury and you can survive without them. If you have the money and WANT a cell phone, more power to you.The reasoning behind this seems to be 911 access. My question is what's next. Are we going to be responsible for supplying high definition cable tv service just so the less fortunate can see storm warnings in crystal clear HD quality? For god sakes we wouldn't want them to miss it, right?I guess the biggest question I would have is where does it all end? What sort of check and balance is our government going to institute to prevent abuse of the welfare system. The current measures are not working.

They Didn't Take Gov. Money, But Read This
I have lost all respect for Ford. However beyond just the Raptor, check out the Freestyle and all the complaints on it. Also check out the issues with Ford CVT transmissions, throttle bodies, accelerator pedal position sensors, IAC valves, throw-out bearings, tire wear/alignments, etc. It seems these are the issues that span all their vehicles. I am glad to say the problems have been somewhat minimal with my Ram and almost non-existent with my 94' Dakota Sport 4x4. While Ford would say the comparison is "apples to oranges" I can honestly conclude that it is more of a "gold nuggets to lemons" comparison. When it comes to trucks the only truck I will drive is a Dodge. I have had too many issues with Ford to ever ever look back.
