  1. Levity! Just having some fun.
  2. Brakes squeaking? Apply grease! I am full of awesome tech tips!
  3. The reason I asked is that I had bad relay that was making noise, once upon a time. So you are using an external voltage regulator? Hopefully it isn't making noise, it really shouldn't though, but they aren't all clean. If your PCM's factory regulator was putting out that much voltage, it is probably toast. Hopefully nothing else in the PCM are messed up.
  4. Be aware that the blocks and plates set the angle of the rear axle. The angle of the dangle needs to be the same at each end for the U joint to work properly or you will have vibration. If the machine shop makes them square, you might have to do some shimming. You can check it with a level & protractor or a smartphone and the TREMEC company's app. Google Tremec toolbox app. Let the air out of the rear tires.
  5. That is high. Typically it isn't the brushes but the diodes. If your alternator is disconnected at idle, what VAC do you show?
  6. Do you plan on using that full amperage and have upgraded cables running from your alternator to your batteries? If not, then leave the 140 in place, IMO. I left my 140 in place, and it has been fine, I could put a bigger one as I did upgrade my cables.
  7. You just built that thing... I thought it was good to go?
  8. I will be there. I can't make April, but I will at least make a couple! I would love to meet up as well. Family is coming as one of my biggest goals with this old beast is to use it as an actual family car. I look forward to dropping kids off at school in the batmobile. I hope to drag @Me78569 along as well, he should bring his bimmer or truck with a Quad posterboard or "Nick's VGT codemonkey" sign. I have a job that includes weekends.
  9. I don't speak the fuzzy dice language. I have... correction. had, some jameson single barrel.
  10. New news! Unfortunately, @Me78569 and my schedules haven't meshed again, so I have been drinking all the beer by myself! Evidently @TFaoro doesn't like beer, takes all kinds I suppose. Anyway... The starter pinion gear was near ground off on the original starter. I found an awesome speedo/auto electric shop http://www.speedoservice.com/. They rebuilt the really rare original starter for $110. New points, dwell and timing set, it still ran ok, but not great. As I was trying to set the timing, it seemed like the timing marks were pretty far out, about 70 degrees. The original owner had two plug wires crossed. After fixing that, the car runs really well. I think a brake cylinder is weeping on a brake, it needs new seat skins, new speedo cable, window fuzzies, door seals, and needs the heater controls cleaned out. Aside from that, the car really drives well. I plan on driving it daily when the weather is nice. i added what I feel are tasteful vintage decals to the car.
  11. @TFaoro, im starting to wonder if he is a flip phone guy.
  12. If the injectors dont fix it, the miss cant be verified to one injector by cracking lines, and no fuel leaks... i have to wonder if it isnt a vp issue like tyler had way back when.
  13. Hey, everybody likes being warmed up. (shrug) sounds like you have a nice truck.
  14. Well, the factory unit is a two piece. If you aren't looking for a replacement, why not measure yours? We don't have that information handy, and depending on your transfer case or rear end, there can be significant variations.
  15. You need to measure it for your truck
  16. Data! I will look at it.
  17. As a former pumping engineer, I really wonder if the pressures from the water pump amount to much. It is also bypassed through the heater core iirc. My typical statement of "cooling system failures are 99% related to old coolant" hasnt been disproven yet. Water boils at x temp and gives a pressure. The thermostat has holes in it and isnt a perfect seal. Your radiator cap will leak if too much pressure ~16psi is applied.
  18. Big government loves a crisis. Cali loves big government. The drought they just got out of would have been a good time to get their hydro infrastructure fixed.
  19. Mileage isnt as good, but we love our 06 4runner. I would personally avoid the new ones with the first iteration of direct injection gas. Rav4 isnt bad, but a bit small for our family.
  20. No idea. Aircraft stripper would probably work. Use good ppe and respirator with aircraft stripper. That stuff will kill you in the long run and can get in your bloodstream. My dad has a media blaster and that might also work, but would take a while. If you are painting it, media blast for sure.
  21. Full polish, red letters.
  22. But big government can save us, comrade! We just need to do it right this time! Down with the rich evil business owners, entrepreneurs, and individuals! Im extremely cynical. People are lazy and selfish. You might enjoy Concience of a Conservative by Barry Goldwater.
  23. I hope you are right, but I am not optimistic. Politics, money, and power... Obama had a super majority his first two years and all he managed as a legacy was deadlock and a failed attempt at socialized healthcare.
  24. For 3d gen, i really dont know. My moogs also sucked. I have napa pro sitting on my shelf. Ball joints should last more than 30k of highway driving.
