  1. There's sunshine in west Oregon?
  2. Years ago, the rule of thumb was one weeks wages or 25% of a family income went to pay for housing. Now it takes 33% of income to do the same thing.
  3. I would and have added one. https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/53_axles-suspension-brakes/adding-inline-power-steering-filter-with-system-flush-r486/
  4. Just went to the cheapest station here and put 4.85 gallons in a 5-gallon container @4.499/gal. There went $22.00. I looked at 12 gas stations in my area. San Marcos/Escondido, CA, and found the average price @ @4.729/gal with the low of $4.499 and high of 4.999.
  5. And what medical school did he graduate from? I'm glad to hear that despite the governments mishandling of the situation, in that state, you and yours made it through that ordeal. October 31 my son, who lives with use, came down with the CCP virus. Neither my wife, granddaughter, nor I got it and none of us has had the jab. Now at my daughter's house, she, her husband, and two boys got it. None of them were vaccinated and none went to the hospital.
  6. May be the heater blend door actuator is not in sync with the dash heater control and need to be recalibrated.
  7. The coolant sensor may be bad and needs to be tested. The sensor is a thermistor and the voltage to the sensor is 5 volts. When the temperature is low the resistance increases with less voltage going back to the PCM. With an open circuit in either the sensor or it's wiring no voltage is getting back to the PCM which will give a reading of -40 and no temp gauge movement. To test check the ohm resistance of the circuit. The resistance will decrease as the temp increases.

  10. I've used Dri-Slide cable lube with good succuss. I get it a motorcycle shop, but you might find it at a bicycle shop. https://www.drislide.com/products/drislide-bike-aid-moly-lubricant-w-needle https://www.ebay.com/itm/313724995806?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=313724995806&targetid=1262779895929&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9031295&poi=&campaignid=13920181166&mkgroupid=124965446876&rlsatarget=pla-1262779895929&abcId=9300614&merchantid=459449264&gclid=Cj0KCQiAlMCOBhCZARIsANLid6aK0t8OcgblFYVA4nnZ9LnaloW0g1-EfGc00juEON_cZyKEA28uWYMaAosXEALw_wcB
  11. At -4°, cover on/cover off, I don't think it matters; everything is cold. Cruise control cable would not affect it.
  12. 99 QCSB Laramie SLT 4x4, Skyjacker suspension lift, Cummins 24v, 47RE trans, BD Diesel Performance adjustable track bar, Redhead Steering box, and AFE stage 1 air cleaner. I didn't know, your signature says "47RE trans". You should correct it.
  13. Either throttle cable but most likely transmission shift cable froze in its sheath cover and thawed when the trans warmed a little. Since the cove is off, pull on the cable now to see how it feels. It should pull smoothly. The next time it happens, with the engine not running, you can check it.
  14. That's a two for. Fix leach fields and get firewood.
  15. HAPPY NEW YEAR
  16. I do that too along with the Critter Ridder. I use a piece of 2X4 to keep the hood open about 4". An air filter box is a critter condo. Mice and rats just love them. Over the years I've found numerus nests in them. They also use them for food storage; I even found one filled with green poison bait pellets.
  17. The top connector has a tab you push down as you pull them apart. The bottom connector has the white lever that you pull up on; this will sperate the connector. I did a lot of rabbit hunting when I live in Rhode Island.
  18. I feel your pain. I have an S60 Volvo in my back yard That I'm saving for my granddaughter that the rabbits were munching on. They've taken out an O2 sensor, cam position sensor, and a transmission speed sensor. Now I try to keep them at bay with a spray I get from Home Depot called Havahart Critter Ridder 3145. I spray the wires about once every two weeks. You may want to invest in a terminal removal tool set. They are less than $20 and will make the job quick and easy. There are also a few how to videos on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+depin+a+connector
  19. Tomorrow sunny with a high of 58°F and I have to mow the lawn.
  20. Tell us who it is. They may have a good reason or not. If more members start to post complaints about service from them then their sales can be negatively affected.
  21. Not hard to find. Gates Part #350390 or https://www.oreillyauto.com/shop/b/chassis---steering/power-steering/steering-seal-kit---pump/6d9b69569080/v/a/1985/automotive-truck-2000-dodge-ram-2500
  22. Check this article for wiring the fuel pump. https://mopar1973man.com/cummins/articles.html/24-valve-2nd-generation_50/51_engine/59_fuel/installing-protective-lift-pump-relay-r501/?tab=reviews
  23. It's there to stop the convertor from draining out. It restricts fluid flow and could fail and cause the trans fluid to overheat and burn up the transmission. If your trans has been upgraded the fluid should then flow when started in park. Don't replace it...remove it.
  24. To test if one of those things is causing a hydraulic problem, opening the bleeder screw at one of the rear wheel brake cylinders will release any pressure and increased brake fluid volume in the rear braking system. This would allow the springs to return the brake shoes to a retracted position. If there is an increase in pressure you may see brake fluid squirt out, not dribble out when the bleeder screw is opened.
  25. Get used ones from the bone yards. 1500 and 2500 will fit.
