  1. It looks like you did a nice job on it. Welcome to the forum. I still think these seconds are better looking than any other generation out there.
  2. I think W-T means to do this #4 wire from batt to batt ground in addition to what is already there.
  3. No, but IBMobile might have a source.
  4. Here are my notes on this....... a quick summary; 1. Remove Alternator charge wire from harness, remove connection to the PDC. Using #4 wire run the B+ charge wire to the passenger battery. 2. Make the 4 grounds existing in front of the VP44 gathered with shrink tube go to a 10-12 ring terminal that bolts to the vp44 housing to the left and down from the overflow valve(see pic). Run a ring terminal using #6 wire from that same location and run to drivers battery . 4. go with 8 gauge wire from PCU ground to negative side on passenger battery.
  5. Dripley, This morning I imagined running your creeper under a rain drenched truck, but the worse part is trying to roll over the chicken bones you use for gravel.
  6. congrats on the changes and adventure in life. I have friends that moved into thier 5th wheel and saved enough money to buy a home without a mortgage. hope you don't mind my sayin this, but I'd probably remove the aftermarket fender flares and side steps. I think it would look a whole lot better. It is a fantastic find though. It's like new.
  7. Nice job! Chicken skin is tough stuff
  8. Hurry and get done Dripley, our 55 mile an hour gusts and rain are just starting. It will be at your place in 3 days. Don't blame me if smells a little like brake clean
  9. I will try. No guarantees. You don't need rain when trying to do any kind of work. Like me, new headlights came in and we had rain almost all day. We do welcome it in summer, Especially last summer with smoke in the air throughout the entire NW. From California to BC, it was like you couldn't breath nor get cooled down as usual at night. It was like the air would not move for weeks. It was kind of strange.
  10. Don't ya' know guys live in Oregon are in charge of the rain coming over here first. Man, I gotta' remindya' all the time
  11. I bought all the stuff to do it. Its sitting there waiting because too many other projects. Waiting for nicer weather etc. IBMobile, we might not get to stay long if we open a camp repair shop. Want to say its good we have older trucks that we know most the ins and outs for reliability.
  12. Dripleys right tho.... sometimes two stroke works in situations like yours. I drove from north oregon to central west Nevada 8 times, hauling my rv, driving with an 0216 error code. drove the truck locally for 4 yrs besides those trips and then to western Idaho for the eventual VP change out by MoparMan. I was using a bit heavy doses of two stroke forever, so even though the timing piston was worn and could not advance the timing as needed, it refused to seize.
  13. You can tell Dripley's been visiting his doc lately.
  14. Personal computer. Glad I listened it's a nice laptop. First thing salesman said was never leave it visible in vehicle. It will be gone before you know it. So I tried finding one small enough to fit in the console, but no go they not like Michael said to get. I'm slow on it. If I let MoparMan use it thered be a burnt spot in the table. lol
  15. Mine is a sport model so has the harness for dual bulbs. Thank you for the assurance. I needed to save a few bucks right now since I did take heed to Michael Nelson advice on buying a new computer. I'm glad I did too.
  16. Th Thanks Dan, but no more throwing 'gross tasting' candy under my truck... bears kept me awake all night.
  17. I know.....all fun. Life's not worth it w/o a little humor. Must say we'll see what happens because I poured in organic Castor oil oil in the tractor w/ new antifreeze. I think it helps the seal not wear by getting lube to it. Time will tell. I need that blinker fluid if you find it, my eyes dry out so bad sometimes. lol
  18. Reason for asking is my JD water pump developed a leak and rusted out one of the alternator bearings. Alternator eventually froze up and burnt the belt right off pulleys. Dog Gone water pump quit leaking ever since I changed antifreeze and changed the front bearing in the alt. I just changed and flushed again last nite so wondering if any heard about castor oil.
  19. My 01 and 02 take 11 qts. to fill. Always change my own oil and always fill the filter too. About the pan leaks; There has been 3 occasions my pans on both trucks started leaking. Even the one I bought with 200k miles (had a mess under there) stopped leaking by just re ..torquing the pan bolts. just don't go over factory specs on the amount of torque and you should be good to go.
  20. Anyone heard of putting a bit castor oil in the coolant to help the water pump? Heard someone mentioning that at the autoparts store.
  21. Okay..... I know I'll probably regret it but, a guy can spend over 5-600 bucks just for stock sport headlights and I'm used to my first gen at 24 bucks ea. and its all glass. So wondering if anyone dealt with the issues on the ebay version? I plan on using LEXEL (it fuses to plastic) to seal around the lenses and then get stainless fine thread screws that I can change out for the adjustment screws. BTW, the Lexel sealant you can use to build up weak places in plastic since Michael Nelson was talking about some portion snapping off or something, basically warning me not to get them. lol.
  22. Ebay got a higher price. I paid 65 bucks for mine a Line X dealer a year ago, but had to go back to pick them up. Another good place to get them from is Cabelas.... right to my doorstep.
  23. I don't know about trusting any those yet. JMHO. Probably need a turn to see those tires in the mirrors? What do you carry on your trailer?
  24. Awh cool.... I heard those can rust out too. Man I like the idea on the chain lube..... assuming the stuff sticks kinda like chain lube to a chain saw
