Weather tech mats
A client gave me a set of the weathertech mats out of his Caddy. I was surprised they are made to look like they are thicker but aren't really thicker at all. He gave them to me cause they needed cleaning. Driver and passenger sides have same model # 3071. That's on the black ones.

The Huskys fit and made for 2nd gens. I like them a lot, has a lip high enough to protect. I found out the black ones look better with a different colored interior. Other truck has the matching color gray with the gray interior, but the black still looks the best. something about that contrast.

Stupid Coffee Makers
I buy the Presto all stainless steel 12 cup automatic percolator, They cost around $48-50 and last an average of 8-10 years. Anyhow we are on our third one and is getting there so have new one ready in the box. I think it's good not to run your hot water thru plastic.

Washington state auctions
Probably so. Whats amazing is those old buildings were so simple. Even the Hospital was plain inside all wood framing and siding. If anything needed maintanence chances are it was just a coat of all white paint or a new roof. I was in a hospital the other day (nothing serious) and would have to say the entry way was not simple and thought....... just the entry must be a million bucks. The inside was no different, was high detail and expensive. Towrigdually, I think you could try calling some local excavators or used car dealers. Those guys usually know about auctions. I wonder if the small town auctions might be better for a real 'score'?

Everyone post a picture of your truck!
Very nice. I had a first gen regular cab for a long time. Its difficult now to think about going without an extended cab, makes it so handy.

Good to also spray a puddle of oil down inside the bottom of the doors. Just spray up inside thru the vent holes in the door lip at the bottom. I do this every once in awhile since they tend to rust from the inside.

I lived in Oak Harbor there in the early 60's for a couple years. Used to watch the Sea Planes running while my folks shopped at the naval commissary. It was cool watching those run up the launch ramp after landing and then go back out to take off again. Think they were called PBYs.

It's called a '55'. It's biggest they had, but will do the job. I'm only renting it since I usually do other types of construction. I get tired of running a machine more than a couple days, tear downs are a bit more exciting. Thats cool the way you take care of your truck... we can all use you as an example. You and W-T that is.

Thanks for the pics Ben. I thought might be for dropping telephone poles down the drilled hole . Anyway I've those before on occasion. Funny the subject on equipment... just today I ordered a mid size track hoe to be delivered tuesday for tearing down a two car garage that was built in the 30's. Who knows what treasures are up in the attic. Monday we get everything down to let the owner see. It will be fun. On side note some of the siding boards were milled 19'' wide. We are saving a lot of that old growth material.

Ben, what is a 'telehandler' as you call it? I've never heard that before. Something about those bigger shop spaces makes it nice for doing truck work. mine just a two car garage, kinda tight. It does have a storage loft above for storing 'stuff', which helps.

You might be right on that as I just cannot remember for certain. I know its important that there is no side to side play that allows rubbing of the fins anyway. Thanks for that Dieselfuture. A little beat looking is good. you get to see how it was treated. not all covered up. Anyhow the miles are great on it too.

my 12 was a 92 I drove for over 20 yrs. Generally if they run down the road nice they stay that way. can't say about the trans except have Dynamic look at it. The price is very honest on this one and leaves room to build it the way you like even tho trans may be at its end. I would put new wheels on it. some better mirrors things like that. I do want to say that even tho these 12s have a mechanical L/P, it still needs a fuel pressure gauge because the new mech. factory lift pumps are garbage. About the trans.... almost better to have an automatic at this point with the price since you have dynamic so close, I got my 5 spd rebuilt and it was garbage. They really took me to the cleaners, turned the pockets inside out to see if anything left. BASICALLY........I say this is the one, but don't wait too long to check it over real good. Remember to remove the intake tube and look how clean inside and check turbo bearings for play. Side play bad, end to end play okay if only a little.

Bumper plug
Yep and there's a place where you can get a VP changed while you go fishing. Oregon is, I think, 115 bucks for 2 yrs. was 85 for 2 yrs not long ago. In 1978 it was 20 bucks for 2 years Bobalos, I cut out and rounded the corners on a small piece of diamond plate. Using bumper bolts I bolted down to cover those holes because I didn't like my foot sliding in the rain on that step.

I would try staying under 200 k miles JMHO. I would keep looking with the idea that there is a good one out there. Keeping in mind you want a low mile truck that just hit the market and has not been available for long. Keeping in mind too, that often there is a reason they are available. If a seller acts and continues to express an anal attitude it sends up a flag to me about possible issues, but thats just me. The miles are just too high on that one.

How many miles on it? To me it looks like it over detailed like trying to cover actual use. New upholstery and the new shine kinda says be wary to me, do a car fax and get the miles on it before going there, is best I can say.

Will check tomorrow. Have to scoot out a hear now

Who's got springs like these?
Could be mistaken, looks like Dripleys' single overload looks a bit heavier duty. My 02 is like dripleys with a single overload and camper package, but L stacked another in there latter for the camper. My 01 is like GSP7s' overload with doubles.

Need HELP With Vulcan Intercooler Boots
I would measure the amount of offset or over length and cut that much off. I found the fender lip on the driver side starting to rub also and took some pliers and bent it over so the sharp edge is pointing away from the boot, leaving about 1/2'' clearance. I think channel lock pliers worked the best. It looks as though the boot on the passenger side is about 3/4'' short. Am I seeing that right?

You got good answers on the air filter, do you mind me asking what your fuel pressures are ranging?
