  1. I was walking across a Farm store parking lot last night going to my truck and a car went by so close she almost ran over me. I was looking the other way and heard no car coming. Before crossing there was no cars coming and it wasn't a main thru fare. She came out of no where and obviously had no intention of stopping. She had a mean look on her face and acted like it was my fault. She never stopped to apologize or anything. I wanted to pick up a rock and bust the rear window as she drove off. Day before... another guy in front of me slowed to figure out which way to turn but then went straight. Afterward I was halfway thru my intended left turn and he suddenly guns it to the left right in front of me. I have tail gators now every time I travel somewhere. I'll look back and there is no one for a mile on a what used to be a nice county road. Look up again moments later and out of no where there is a car riding my bumper. On the interstate near us every time I'm on it I see close calls and people driving just absolutely nuts. In general, peoples attitudes have changed around and letting it rule their driving habits. Noticing also peoples attitudes are letting it affect the way they do business... Last month I over paid a bill so the nxt months wouldn't be so high. Only the next mos. bill did not reflect any of the nearly 600 dollar overpayment. In talking with the accounting dept she talked so fast and so impatient with me I just gave up trying to understand this weird billing/ accounting policy. Knowing when I got home I would try to make sense of what she printed out, I walked out of there. Couldn't understand that fast talk anyway, sounded very impatien anywayt. When I could not understand their accounting methods on the piece of paper she gave me, I called the company to talk with the owner but he was not around. So I get this same fast talking lady calling me back, only this time accusing me several times, elaborating how I was trying to circumvent her and now the fast talk being even worse is now with an aggressive tone. Let me remind you that this lady is also unrelenting in her tailgating if you happen to be in front of her on the way to work.. Anyway she gives you the impression you don't want to give them the business any longer, even after having the account over 30 years. It pissed me off. Going to have my wife go over the statements and invoices when tax deadline passes. We will see what happens. Sorry for the longer post but you guys need a good read anyway I hope the coffee is good.
  2. I'm in the same boat in that I do not want to mess with the electronics. I want to keep it simple, mostly original. And although half these guys would like to take my trucks away and put me back driving a buck board, I cannot help the way I think........I just don't trust electrical. I know now I will be set up as a target from now on lol
  3. Good advice Daniel... but your not supposed to make fun of a guys handicap ya know. Lol Dave110, I tried the plastic bags on mirrors but made no difference.
  4. Know what you mean our cat has ruined some things in our home. Luckily he is 18 yrs old and won't be getting another. So my wife says anyway. If we are out of cat food I can always depend on her to get the groceries lol.
  5. That's funny Nick but, I'm sure that's a expensive kitty. We've had outside cats before but end up feedin the coyotes with them. I couldn't do that to that cute kitty of yours.
  6. A Robin is obsessed with looking at himself in the black shinny paint, mirrors and ss rocker panels on my newer truck. He won't stop poopen on the bed rails when he sees himself in the mirrors. He even attacks the reflection of himself. And since there is another good perch next to my truck on my wifes car door handles, he leaves a good one there almost ea. morning. My CO2 BB gun leaks when I go to put in another Co2 cartridge. Does anyone know how to stop that? Maybe a small 'O'ring or something? Funny, it's only a few years old and won't charge up at all. Thanks in advance I have big guns but don't need a hole that big in truck if a miss happens. lol
  7. Oh well... I just got a basic black trim f/p gauge. That green light would be nice though That's how they are on the Pillar gauges on my 02 and it's very nice.
  8. I don't know if they work with Isspro, haven't tried it yet Matt. Don't know if you just change the bulb or if you need to wire in a new bulb socket.
  9. I got it hooked up. Now for some night driving with confidence I like the idea the brightest is the most important
  10. It would be interesting to find a rebuilder that would let you watch them tear it down and find exactly what went wrong. Nice to find out if there is a common weak point in other words. I still have my VP that was running fine even with the 0216 code for 4 years running back and forth to Nevada. Ran it to Idaho and was still running smooth when you changed it out. I think I might take it down to Pacific Fuel injection and see if they will do that for me, let me see what went wrong on it. Now that I have 2 VP trucks it would be good to have one ready. You may have a point there Dieselfuture... are you talking about timing control device?
  11. Thanks you two... I like it down there. Inexpensive and I like Isspro gauges.
  12. Any one know a simple place to hook up the gauge light. I mounted it down near the floor in front of the 4wd shift lever for protection from feets. It is a good spot cause I can see it without looking thru the steering wheel etc. Been working so hard lately, not much rest, I need simple if you know a spot down there.
  13. Hubby's Hub Caps in Portland, Oregon Has them says they're getting hard to get for the first gens and want $45 bucks a piece. Yet she has almost a whole 5 gallon bucket full, she won't reduce her price, so I bought the knock offs from her for less. Just looking at and handling center caps from different gen Dodges, I got to say the second gen caps feel like good quality and heavier compared to the rest.
  14. It's so nice to go back to the correct offset wheels. I just did the same thing to my 01. No more mud sling and the steering feels a lot better. I had a set of second gen aluminum wheels sitting around for 9 yrs. they only have 30,000 0n them so not worried about the cracks, they're still new. BTW ,how do I edit my signature? I want' to list my two other trucks two.
  15. thanks for the link. That helps reaffirm what I needed. I tell ya those pressure line nuts are on so tight that when I get gutsy and really put force behind it, you can feel it springing back
  16. Actually purging air out of Erics 1/2 inch big line kit at the VP44 was easier than doing the injection lines. I did not think it would properly prime the system but it fired right up. It's key that you not overtighten the big line kit at the factory filter nor the VP. Just lightly snug and then more if they leak.
  17. Sorry if I did get this in the wrong forum section. I bought a set of in line wrenches but did not see they skipped the 19mm in the set until this happened. So you think it won't do damage the h/p line?
  18. I installed a new fuel system i.e. Erics full Big Line kit but when attempting to bleed the air it took all my strength with a 19 mm wrench (big wrench) and I could not get any of them to loosen. I had to bleed the main feed to the injection pump and it fired right up. Now if/ when I need to loosen an injection line in the future it seems the 19mm nut will strip before loosening. It had to be the dealer that installed the in tank pump and new VP44 that over tightened them. Any tricks out there before I strip a nut or ruin a high pressure line? Thanks in advance.
  19. Both filters act together and create restriction and fuel pressure. I doubt the factory's smaller filter, being also smaller micron, is anymore than a 60 GPH filter and would perhaps be more likely to fail than a good Racor filter What you all are saying is a 90 will buy more time before having to be changed.
  20. The 150 is installed with the 60 GPH filter. When first fired up (no leaks in new fuel system BTW) I had to turn the pressure down from 25. Factory says they set it for 18-19 before boxing for shipment. Anyhow I got on it and found no pressure drop at all. Filter is on the suction side. I'd better put the taller 90 gph filter on for now from what you say. Thanks for the info AH64ID.
  21. Welcome Timburr, good to have you, It is a great forum and good people around here.
  22. I have been experimenting a little with welding different types of plastic using a heat gun. I found plastic milk carton strips behave as a patch over a repair on your washer bottle for example, they fuse right in with the old. But takes lots of practice before you make a leaking washer bottle good again without melting bigger holes in it. One thing I've discovered is the various types of plastic that I heated very gradual, not getting too close, tend to melt very clear and shiny on the surface. If anyone wants to experiment on an old headlite surface I sure would like to hear about the result. If you do don't get so close that you blow/ distort the surface.
  23. I'm placing a filter on the frame but have two choices, one is 60 gallon per hour and other is 90 gph pre filters to remove sediment and water before entering a new Raptor 150. Being that the 60 gph filter is shorter I need to know if that is adequate on a stock truck. There is conflicting information on the 5.9's requirements all over the net. Sorry Mike, I know you said 90gph before but, I'm just hoping for any degree of clearance under there and with info on the net the way it is, well.... Update: I just ran my other truck without the 60 GPH filter it has always had, its a 12 valve, to see how much effect it has on restriction (fuel pressure). The fuel pressure only went up by 1 p.s.i. at best. Then you figure burning say, to be on the conservative side, hauling heavy 14 miles to the gallon doing 60 miles each hour, so that's only burning 4.28 gallons an hour. Then add in the return flow on average, guessing must be about 30 gallons an hour. I'm still well under the 60 GPH rating the filter has when installed. That leaves room for heavy uphill hauling etc. However ,the debate then is how much return flow is actually required sense it is usually a constant flow always further polishing the fuel, which might be as high as 60 gallons an hour so then a 90 gph filter is required.
  24. Yes I am running the KYB's Dave, they are stiff but not aggressive as others say. Mine are the MonoMax , a little heavier duty for hauling the Camper. They've been on there for 60,000 and I can't tell any wear difference in the ride. Think they will last a long time. The 01 work rig will probably get Napa shocks something like that.
  25. I only know enough to do light mechanical but is it possible your problem could be fuel related? i.e. bad tank vent causing starvation, clogged tank screens? Another thought is bad engine ground any other grounds? PCM ground or injection pump connectors? Just tossing thoughts.
