Mopar73 Full Eclipse Meet and Greet Camp Trip Aug 18th Thru the 21st 2017
Thought I had better bump this subject since this event is now only 5 months away. Remember there is free camping or a choice of sites inside the rv park next door if you want full hook ups. I'm hoping to meet as many as possible. Everyone is welcome and it is in the path of experiencing a full eclipse

ABS failure found!
Can a PCM be tested before you take it out of a truck in the junk yard? Also, do you have to have the truck batteries hooked up for a test? I think this goes above and beyond Thanks to Chris O.

Hello All
Thank you, they're a bit of a plain jane compared to the wheels in style now a days , but, they are strong for carrying the camper. Your cooler in the Summer up there too aren't you?

Instrument gauges clear plastic cover??
I got it cleaned (much better) but, dang I touched the fuel gauge. Hope it's okay as I put it back in the full position since I filled up about 2 miles from home yesterday.

Correct glue for Dash Bezel Fix...
Sometimes I feel like a bag of pieces lol. I know it works on the bezel but the dash part might be PVC so would need pvc glue. There is also a combination glue that works for ABS and PVC pipe so do a test by smearing some on the underside and see if it sticks and won't come off first. I glued leather pieces to the underside where the cracks were for reinforcement and then decorated the top with a strip of leather. It looks pretty good on there but is hard to cut so it looks even. Just have to push and pull so it lays tight around the compounded curves and looks good in front, tape it till it sets up.

Correct glue for Dash Bezel Fix...
Tried different glues for compatibility since I have a broken Bezel and found ABS pipe glue works very well and does not come off. I'm also laminating a piece of decorative cowboy Hide just over the top to add strength and hide cracks. Kinda tough to do but one trick is to glue a larger piece on there and then trim it later after glue sets up. Careful with the front edge.

Instrument gauges clear plastic cover??
Thanks ... I did not know what niddles were until you all got it fully explained. That's like the golfer who when he gets out of his new car drops golf tees onto the pavement of the gas station. Attendant who's never golfed in his life asks ,'what are those for sir?' and the golfer says,'I use those to hold my balls when driving' . Attendant says, Man what will them Ford guys think of next.

Instrument gauges clear plastic cover??
In front of the gauges there is a clear plastic 'glass' cover. Has anyone ever removed that clear cover? My new to me work truck (2001) has big gobs of dog hairs in there. Want to clean but how? How the leather interior is so close to perfect yet got dog hairs behind that glass in front of gauges I will never know Oh yeah, dust too

Block Heater Short
Actually the GFCI is a pretty good tester/ indicator that either the power cord or heat element is bad. I happened to my first gen right after the heater was changed. That was finally at about 400k miles the cord insulation cracked and shorted. New cord was $14.95 at O reillys' a few years ago. I installed it with a bit more protection from rubbing by running it thru soft rubber hose in places. I would try a new cord first, go from there.

The crf450ish random question thread.
Dripley, Eric's the one that has seen the quick connects leak. If you want a brand new set, came with my AD 100, I still have them new in the box. and you can have them if you want them. Eric set me up with some adapters that allow the factory Carter to go on easy incase I ever need the back up pump I carry in the tool box..

The crf450ish random question thread.
Dripley, if you needed another lift pump, would you go for another ADII 165? Asking because I have another truck with an in tank pump that I get to finally see what it looks like in there.

The crf450ish random question thread.
nor does it always represent the guys turning the wrenches. Usually the more attraction to the advertising the more I try to glean more information and research.

The crf450ish random question thread.
The old saying , ''he who hesitates looses'', is not always true. He who hesitates gains more information before jumping in. That's important because there are so many advertisements that only show the nice cover. Taking time to do a little extra research/ ask questions can take time but can be well worth it.

Afraid of pictures...... might need a full time guard if you see it. Your right on CSM. Sometimes I think I should still be driving a buck board way I am.

Just took a chance on buying a 2001 to replace work rig
well now that the sun finally came out I can see I bought a very straight truck that has been worked. Its got brand new leather seats and well cleaned carpet. Heated mirrors Heated Seats Remote keyless wood grain dash Aftermarket dash cover I think it might have alarm system I need to read about in the book CD player with cassette player Both electric seats I worry most about the F/P with in tank lift pump and small fuel lines and the automatic trans but realize it's about right time that inj pump and trans have been rebuilt. It's a crap shoot no matter how you see it. I am concerned too that I promised some pics here to all that are interested, because I need to work hard instead to get the old 92 running in order to sell it (it was last towed home after much work). So I need to get the utility body switch over to the newer truck. Lots of problems with the old girl. Nothing but money and time last two months trying to get it running and then bought this newer 2001 truck?! Oh well... sometimes its time to upgrade... join the human race again.

thoughts and maybe some prayers
1)Sometimes rules get broken due to that fact they aren't well adapted to running the business properly. Got to give your wife credit for being more efficient as it may be. Benefit of the doubt anyway Prayers from Oregon Bud. 2)Pray too Michael stops to help a fellow stranded 2nd gen owner and walks around the truck and it's a cute babe with diesel all over her hands.

Just took a chance on buying a 2001 to replace work rig
I'll get on it tomorrow. Had to work today and feels good getting back to a good job. Not like the last one we won't mention.. I just went and bumped the starter and heard a lift pump. When I opened the fuel cap the sound got nice and loud so it's got the in tank pump. Just as I thought... a dealership got a hold of it at one time with possible new inj. pump' Hey, I actually got the wife to go to dinner with me in it. What do you know! I turned on the heated leather seats (they look new ). So now we get there and she does not want to get off the nice warm seat. Don't try understanding anything it make you nuts
