Mean While on Hoth....
We had 8 inches here but with the wind blowing drier air so hard it evaporated about half. Now too the roads are so slick from packed ice and cold there are parts you have to go very very slow.

Need new injectors, Any tricks, what to watch?
Have almost 500 k on original injectors on my 92 first gen. It made a lot of white smoke and then quit on my driveway. This truck has quit on my driveway almost everytime it needing repairs. Starting to think it's a smart truck for the 20.5 years I've been daily driving her. Anyway I've got rebuilt injectors coming from Vulcan and need to know any other things to watch for while doing it. Mike told me about using a piece of pvc pipe sleeved on and using a lug nut w/ the right thread size lifts a stubborn injector out. Also if I find a broken tip I need to get a camera to look inside the cylinder for damage. Now... if there is a damaged cylinder should I just go buy another good running first gen? Around $5,000 and just build one good truck out of the two? Or just get it rebuilt? T.I.A.

Revenge?!?!
Looks like it's butyl rubber for rv windows on there. We best be quiet, they might mandate it by executive order.

Revenge?!?!
That's like the mechanics I used to go to before I wised up. They were called 'High Torque Oil change' lol. Claiming they are the best saying they never had an oil filter come off. lol

I don't know that dry air is comfortable where you are. Love to camp those drier climates.

Mean While on Hoth....
Nick your in Colorado. Isn't that supposed to be like Alaska but on a smaller scale? We have had about 10 inches total on the West side of the Cascades. We have not seen any winter for 3 years so we are welcoming the snow. 24 degrees this morning is cold for us since we are only an hour from the coast.

Power Distribution issues
Kevin how did you figure it out after three weeks> Did you get a look at another truck an suddenly notice?

Power Distribution issues
Randy start cleaning all major connections. Even the battery posts nice bright and clean. Follow the smaller wires coming off the passenger battery. One of them has a factory clip type connection laying closer to the wheel well. That one has been a problem for some not being very tight. Check/ clean the grounds everywhere esp. the computer on the passenger firewall grounding. The next most important is to figure out how to get the wire harness injection pump connector off. It takes sliding a clip up or down, can't remember, but once you get it off make sure all is clean and tight on each of the pin connectors. Some guys have had trouble there with the pin connectors some loose or the whole connector isn't seated all the way. Sometimes just unplugging and placing back on will do the trick. Do put dialectric grease on the female pin connectors first before putting back on. Give us updates as you go. Any of the above can't hurt on trucks old as ours. Fill out your sig too okay? And welcome to the Forum, nice community around here.

Happy New Year everyone. Wish I had that old Land Rover. They are really cool rigs when they are the old ones.

Prayers Please for MoparMom
It would take 35 hours of remodeling to get in her good graces again and wouldn't be able to work in the garage near her truck.

Prayers Please for MoparMom
If you carry even one little tiny bolt in your pocket he snarels up a real killer look, but if you go near MoparMoms truck with that bolt you'll be calling the ambulance. lol

Prayers Please for MoparMom
I had that kind of a cold, no cough, I had labrinthitis (room spinning) almost fell off the toilet and then morphed into my hearing going double. If someone spoke to me it would reverberate. It was strange stuff for about a week. That dog is a good dog until he sees that you dropped a bolt down the intake. lol

FASS 150 and ECM problem?
He does that at camp too...

FASS 150 and ECM problem?
His symptoms indicate that the lift pump is powered only by the ECU. Plus the OPs' way of describing what he did for his install says the same thing. I hope he gets back to say he changed it and got it right. Thanks for the diagram IBM.

Got to hide the lear jet on your own private airport next to your truck?

FASS 150 and ECM problem?
ECM is supposed to control a relay that switches on the pump to run off the batteries. Getting power to run the pump from the ECM is not good as the amount of lift pump load can increase over time, especially as it wears, can slowly burn up the ECM circuit board. Remember the ECM isn't to be used as a fuse cause it's too expensive. Fist thing is to do 1/2 inch lines all the way so the pump doesn't work as hard and raise the pumps full potential. It has to maintain above 14 psi at all times to get max cooling flow to the injection pump.

Good to not have the smaller pulley since a faster spin will generate heat and reduce its efficiency. Very good report Katoom. Make sure you hooked it up right Bud... we don't want to have to start calling you Kaboom . Just kidding BTW, guys in Redding, I noticed ,keep their tucks like they just came off the showroom... where's a pic of your truck?
