  1. I'm glad you answered Matt. Was beginning to think I might of hijacked this thread. You know it's all about tight fittings with good easy flow and easy changing filtration system. I don't like the fuel line quick connects after Eric at Vulcan performances' experience with them. I wish I knew what the issue is with your truck Matt. I can only tell you mine is simplified with no Dodge stuff on it. Even half the bottom of my fuel canister is cut away. Nary a problem.
  2. All I know is everything Dodge did to the fuel system was so bad in my opinion that it became my mission to change everything about it. I.E. W/S fuel filter before the lift pump Cut out all fuel canister screens Eliminate the small cylindrical shaped plastic with screen inside located in the fuel canister. 1/2 inch lines all the way inc. draw straw. Dump return line to filler neck helping to cool the fuel. L/P placed down on the frame 1/2 inch shut off ball valves either side of the L/P and pre filter for easy change out not loose prime. Added my own tank vent so never a vacuum tank collapse from a bad factory tank vent. I know I'm sort of bragging here but I got so pissd about the truck builders always messing things up for the owners of these rigs. I'm very much a rebel. Just like when I bucked High school and took up motorcycling country back roads. Loaded up on some good memories too.
  3. Notlimah, I'm not joking. That's the stock engine fuel return that was going to the fuel tank. I plumbed it there to keep hot fuel from being picked up inside the fuel canister.
  4. I don't know you guys... my fuel return looks like this down the filler neck.
  5. All I hear is an engine that sounds like it needs some 2 stroke. Only difference I noticed between the two videos was a significant lower charge rate on the volt gauge in the second video.
  6. There was a guy on the Cummins forum that was running his lift pump off the ECM (not supposed to do that) and the lift pump was pulling too much load and affected how it was running by effecting the electrical system and rest of the emgine sensors. You are supposed to run the lift pump off the battery thru a relay. The relay being controlled by the ECM. Running the lift pump directly off the ECM has destroyed ECMs'. You can get the plug and play harness from Vulcan Performance or Geno's Garage. Plug right into the ecm factory lift pump connector
  7. Just some thoughts... When Hillary called responsible hard working tax paying Americans ' Deplorables' I think her conscience took over in that moment realizing that all her illegal dealings would be more fully investigated and have a far greater impact if she became president. She prompted us American Patriots to pull together. I also think her seizures became more pronounced knowing the ramifications of a full depth investigation into her past. JMHO
  8. Yes, if it went away when hot wired it's electrical then. Check your vp electrical connector for snug pin connections and for any rust /corrosion. Once cleaned and connections are tight again be sure and put some dialectric grease on the pin connections before putting it back in place. If I had a problem that I couldn't track down like this I'd give it a good dose of two stroke every fill up (Break that puppy in with some well lubed fuel... oil, like it used to be, not this solvent) just go driving everywhere and see what happens. Sometimes a clue will show its first inkling when just runnin around all the time with the problem. If gets worse then it might be easier to diagnose. A question... have you checked for tank vacuum by slowly removing cap and listening for suction hiss? I ask even tho you most likely have electrical issue. For the Record... I very much appreciate how you are so vigilant in solving this problem. It's commendable. Hang in there Dalton, we all appreciate it too
  9. Yes it did. Was as though there is some type of electrical interference or grounding leak. Are you sure it's not just normal RPM fluctuation? Cause a lot of guys have that. Like some sensors kicking in. Why don't you like the 2 stroke? The VP was designed for higher lubricity fuel before the ULSD was mandated. The scoring value of the ULSD is too high for VP trucks. So with 2 stroke added, testing showed it placed it back in range for the VP again. I run it all the time in mine anyway,
  10. Mine has a 25-50 RPM fluctuation ever since I bought it. There were a lot of guys talking about having that over on the Cummins forum years ago. (Talking about when the grid heaters discontinue too). I did note that your voltage gauge read lower charging volts on the second video. Do you have the Timbo APPS and running 2 cycle oil? I ask cause mine sounds a bit more quiet than yours.
  11. I guess if you had lots of rain like we get you could spray the cardboard with some type of water sealer. I wouldn't do a lacquere coating though, as it may flake off sending it into the radiator combs
  12. Tyler, rain doesn't make the cardboard break down? I live where it rains a lot.
  13. Im a go drive to his house and get a shot of that
  14. Why, is it peeuwny tractor or something?
  15. Do you do a 12 inch lift kit so your truck doesn't get lost when parked overnight?
  16. That is too bad things are going that way. A car company that always improves builds loyal buyers.
  17. There's one here in my neck of the woods too. It is for sale but looks like a borderline parts car. I like yours a lot and I'm sure it comes with some iron.
  18. IBM,. What do you think of the newer Volvos that have been out? Good enough to go the 470 k again? Assuming that was a Volvo.
  19. I know what you mean Dripley. It's like selling a family member being around so long and reliable. I can't do it, that's for sure.
  20. Mine did that and thought I would have to go to Cummins but the auto pars store had a whole box full of different cords. They let me find one that fit and it's been good ever since. I think it was 14 bucks or something.
  21. thanks notlimah, I have some folks wanting to buy it... standing offer sort of thing, but, it's been real good to us with the 5 spd trans and limited slip 355 differential gears. Oh there I go bragging again. Dripley zap me with that bad cord you got will ya!
  22. Welcome William Burke, fill out your signature so we can see what truck you have
  23. Jolsen , change that plug out to a new one, but go to an electrical supply house that can can inform you about the least problematic GFI. In the old days of working in the rain in construction, there weren't any GFI. You could turn on that Skilsaw and if you felt electricity in your elbow and knee it was time to go home. Never got hurt fortunately. Fuze24, here is a pic of my 1st gen. Flat bed truck. Been using this truck every work day for over 20 years.
  24. I'm glad I got Diesel Dog in there too. All in all, I like this picture. I hope you don't mind I posted it Boss.
