Issue that has everyone stumped!! Rough Running truck
If not electrical got to be fuel. I think you might getting just a small amount of air in the fuel system. Just enough to grab your attention at idle. What about the top of the tank fuel connection or OEM filter cap not down tight something small air is what it is I'd bet. Factory filter needs 25 ft pds. to be tight. No quick connect fuel lines right?

Who Has the Most Miles on a Dodge Ram Automatic Trans
What is the advantage of removing the check valve in the cooler line? To make it easier to drain out?

New AirDog losing Fuel Pressure, Out of ideas
Your draw straw is cut at an angle on the tip too, if I remember correctly.

Vehicle/ Truck Communication and CB Radios
I bought this hand held (Midland $ 90 bucks) with an antenna hook up at the end of the 12 volt power cord so you only contend with one wire like you would a microphone. The longer battery case IS removable so it's almost the size of a large Microphone. Nice pic Sooxies Did not know anything about the coil on an antenna nor tuning with swr meter.

Issue that has everyone stumped!! Rough Running truck
No, not ac noise. I've heard of a rough idle problem from too much load on the electrical system throwing off sensor voltages APPS etc. I don't know except what I have read. The guy had decent fuel pressure but found the fuel pump putting excessive load on the elect. system.

Issue that has everyone stumped!! Rough Running truck
Without turning on the air conditioning compressor turn on everything you can that is electrical. Headlights High beams inside lites Radio etc. And see if the idle goes even more rough.

Another battery thread.....
I try going for the closest supplier with the best warrantee. My idea is using any of them that can handle the job and throwing a charger on them once in awhile to fully top them off because the truck charging often gets shorted for a long last battery. Another aspect is the less quality the more likely it will get you new ones by going bad before any prorating starts. That's why I don't worry too much about what type or brand. Also have a battery charger in the truck for back up and maintanence. Same time the block heater gets plugged in, I will often plug in the charger.

Vehicle/ Truck Communication and CB Radios
Whats best? Hand held units OK for close range? I know antennas are very short lower than my rv roof but will it affect close range with other RVrs? Side Note: Talked with a guy today involved with emergency response, says we all should have CBs because the possibility exists that common communications could be compromised some day with power grids taken out. Sounds good anyhow.

Another battery thread.....
Mike I think bigger batteries may not get charged up to the full mark. End up becoming small batteries that way unless your religious about long charging cycles.

Weight of empty fuel tank?
Cribbing is good especially if you can pull out support in stages.... do one end then the other... keep going till all is disconnected and you can slide it out from under the truck.

New guy with questions-added a few pics
You are a lucky person to get that truck. Especially since it's unmolested by EPA and previous owner. Most important is that you read up on fuel pressure on that truck and will need a fuel pressure gauge..

New AirDog losing Fuel Pressure, Out of ideas
Sounds like the tank vent might be clogged. After a run open the fuel cap very slow and listen for air sucking in. Or run without the fuel cap. Also make sure your drawstraw isn't sitting too close to the bottom of the tank.

That's good work CT. Thank you for the pics.

Airdog thru sump and Carter thru draw straw?
Sorry for the troubles you had. It's good you have the sump. Mine is acting funny when I let fuel go lower than 1/4. So I need the tank sump to stop the funny sound and sudden FP drop when sucking air.

whats and good Aftermarket water pump for 2000 dodge cummins 5.9 24v
I've been using the rebuilt ones on my old old 92 first gen. They are the same pumps as the 24 valve. Mine have lasted so long I can't remember when it was changed but I know it's the second rebuilt pump I put on there and it's still my daily driver for going on 20 years as a work truck. If I go for long road trips you could carry an extra one in the tool box. Better that you carry an extra serpentine fan belt.

That looks good. I can see a slight difference but looks good. How did you fix the rust?

Fuel tank and In-tank pump vs engine mounted lift pump help
Dripley that's an expensive lesson. I think that's the reason most of us are here because most have gotten burned one time or another. The Cummins is a good bet, if set up properly.

Fuel tank and In-tank pump vs engine mounted lift pump help
Very nice post Dripley.... I think many ECM's have been saved by the lift pump wired to it's own circuit.

Teardown and Rebuild
Isn't there a flat part on top of them for a step? Mine is flat corrugated to make non skid that is made of thick plastic. I vote you paint them gun metal black/grey with a matt finish.

Atwood Hydro Flame Furnace Noise
Yes the fan which is a squirrel cage type isn't rubbing, no play etc. There is a slight resistance when spun by hand and some end play, but no side play at all. Installed a new regulator today but made no difference I was told that my old regulator was set up illegally since my old one was designed for a single tank. The manufacturer just put a 'T' on top to hose over to both tanks on either side. Don't know how true that is At least now I can empty out one tank completely and then use the switch over switch to the other tank. That's great because before I was always getting the tanks filled way too soon thinking they were near empty but weren't. P.S. Want MoparMom to know I'm very glad she is doing good.... for some reason I cannot post on the thread about her.
