  1. Back in High School my girlfriend and I thought a lot about our console.
  2. I go by ride height first taking note of what the pressure range is then air them up about the same pressure each time. Right side had a slow leak but over time that subsided. I installed them myself with the instructions saying to keep the upper bracket parallel with the lower at 8 inches apart with the truck unloaded. I found some blocks of wood that totaled the 8 inches so It wood hold the upper bracket in position during install. They work great for hauling my camper.
  3. JAG1 reviewed IBMobile's Cummins article in Cab Interior
Thank you Daniel, I read about a third of it, enough to tell it's a great article and thank you for printing in larger letters with good pics to boot, for us old guys. I give it two thumbs up also
  4. Beautiful place Cowboy. Do you work on the place full time?
  5. Good thing on the 2 stroke my first gen comes alive using that stuff.
  6. Lol... to bad he will read this as you should stuff a couple rubber chickens along side the engine somewhere for him to find lol.
  7. Are you talking about Mickey Master Mechanic in the mountains of Idaho? He doesn't like to work on them unless they are spotless. Leathermaneod, how can the axle get pushed back like that? Seems impossible but the marks on the pan don't lie. The trans pressure line is pushed back too. Should check for leaks.
  8. Need to keep the fuel pressure at 14 or above. Hauling a load going uphill will heat up the injection pump fast but above 14 and the overflow valve opens and helps cool the injection pump. Any less than that might be premature wear. Running 2 stroke helps too because the VP was designed for the higher lubricity fuel when it was built.
  9. Used prices on those wheels are starting to double. If you use the oem lug nuts then the center caps will snap on but, you have to snip off the tips of the lug nut clasps a little bit is all. Did you ever get down the road and find a goat in the back?
  10. I like the Alcoa wheels as long as they don't chew on those
  11. I haven't had to adjust my second gen hinges yet,(only 85k miles) but on my first gen all you need is a ratchet and right size socket. Loosen the bolt heads to the hinge and the door will move around with the threaded backing plate moving with the door. Threaded backing plate is on the dash side. Seems like second gens ought to be the same
  12. Am I seeing it right... your hinges look a bit dry of lubrication? Not sure, I try to keep mine greased. The 92 gets worked a lot harder. Are you adjusting your hinges too? In case you did not know, you loosen the bolts holding the hinge and it slides around 4 ways for adjustments. Easier to have a buddy holding the door weight up some too.
  13. Thank you, it was really hard to do and you should attempt only if you have loads of time to preplan everything for a good outcome. It was a real head twister when you cut and then commit to getting it right. I don't recommend it but a lot of you guys are real engineers from things I've seen/ read on here.
  14. I can get into my tank in 30 seconds. Some of you haven't seen this before and this is what I think about intank lift pumps
  15. Welcome to the Forum Benjamin. Your adjusting the hinges too for the correct closure / alignment and then wear out in 2 yrs? Wow. The bushings wore on my first gen twice now and I just replaced them 2 weeks ago. Doors aren't perfect but close and don't have the door wearing on the paint any longer. I think some bushings are softer than others.
  16. That's where mine came from is Industrial Injection thru Eric. I called industrial injection before I bought and they said they never would ever send out a rebuilt VP without a brand new PSG board. I trust Erics' word the guy ain't greedy or nothin'. He's just a good person.
  17. Okay... I had the pop for a week with the 03 trac bar. Source Automotive took an impact wrench and tightened the lower knuckle and it went away for good. Seemed like they knew right away what was causing it but, that was after they did all new Ball joints and tie rod ends. $1400 bucks Yikes
  18. I like that you said that Dripley. Eric says they wear and leak and that's all I can go by except my quick connect air hoses have always leaked sooner or later boss.
  19. I have a brand new set of Air Dog 1/2'' quick connect fuel lines. Free if anyone wants them. Vulcan says they leak air into the system so I had Eric set me up with the right pump fittings to eliminate them.
  20. It's good you asked cause it might be an aftermarket brand. I got it from Source Automotive in Clackamas Oregon. 503 654-9004. It has a beefy upper bracket and bushing. I know they do shipping but may have to call them to order. They know the good one for the second gen trucks. I got the adjustable one to do the 2 inch leveling kit.
  21. Take that track bar back and get the 03 trac bar upgrade. My oem wore in 30,000 miles and this new 03 bar is still really good.
  22. thank you' Chicken man' I knew I could count on you for that. Could be associated with an electrical current interruption to the ASD relay too.
  23. I would look into the items connected with what makes en engine shut down when the key is turn to the off position. I don't know if the second gens had a fuel shut of solenoid or what is responsible for shutting them down with the key. Something is shutting it down like you were using the key, I think that's what is causing the problem.
  24. Dealer forgot to refill it? How many miles since the last oil change at the dealers? Dealers do things to get you to do a trade for a new one plus price so high to get you to buy new. He should get his oil changed at the Cummins service only.
  25. Wood it be a good idea to unscrew it when new and put a dab of epoxy on the threads and screw it back in? Wood it last longer?
