  1. I'm burning about 1.5 - 2 cords a winter but it's not as cold around the wet side of the Cascades. Heating about 1800 sq. ft. log house with high ceilings though. Friend of mine every place he moves to builds a small two car garage, takes his loader and pushes cut split wood in there till it's full. Never bothers stacking it up. Simple way I guess
  2. I don't know really. Years ago I took apart a cheap battery charger out of my rv, but, found a nice size heat sink inside So I used an aluminum based gutter glue and stuck it to the top of the VP. I did drive the truck long distances for 4 years on the 0216 code and Mikes fuel Milk
  3. Off topic a bit.... in the picture you can see a heat sink attached to the top of the VP's electronics. Now I thought I was the only one that did that.
  4. We have a CO2 detector which if you don't have is advisable that you do.
  5. I couldn't live in a home without wood heat. It is unbelievable how many homes have the leakiest furnace ducts with insulation fiberglass dust being blown into every room everywhere. I've seen the insides of furnaces that would make you sick just looking at them. Besides wood heat soaks to the bone.
  6. I'll tell the wife. She works at a tax office and will want to know.
  7. Now Mike you'll loose business that way... You know that's not true.... that was me with the beer and dropping bolts in an odd place. I remember you having a real tissey fit over not being able to find that bolt till you looked in there. LOL.
  8. Be careful out there when getting engine service. Thinking back since I started driving at 16 (in 1967) there has only been about 1 or 2 shops that really did an honest job on engine work. The rest of them did not care a dam and some were like crooks I'm sorry to say. All the shops were recommended too
  9. Use a utility knife and cut those screens out if your planning a prefilter before the frame mounted lift pump.
  10. 3M double stick tape works good too for attachment. Clean both surfaces real well for good stickem.
  11. I made some rain shields for my rv using a verticle end mill and UHMW after about 10 yrs they cracked terribly. What I like about aluminum diamond plate is you can cut with a table saw, skill saw, you can router egdes and round it over, but you need good goggles for eye protection.
  12. I got banned from a forum too because I was mad about a new $23,000 camper with so many problems. You would not believe how many people joined the 'click' to talk bad about me and I was the one who got the bill of goods to fix everything. I don't think you can be banned around here we just fully understand and with limitless effort try and solve the issue. Welcome to the forum and I know you will get an answer soon here boss.
  13. I want a long skinny diamond plate tool box for above the rail of a pick up bed mounted on the rear, for a bumper with special made brackets. This would afford some storage and could stuff Michael nelson in there if he gets too rowdy at camp. Another option is to cut a nerf barf that fits the profile. Slicing it down the middle would take some time but affords a right and left side. I donno just some thought.
  14. Then I get to rebuild it good for the economy since insurance cos. hoard all kinds of money. Actually it wood be very sad to see it go as building materials are going down in quality. And good subs are harder to find with how busy everyone is now.
  15. A home I built that I had the most fun I ever had building. It is on a river island right on the river. We watched salmon swim by while doing siding.
  16. They want to deny God who is the one actually in charge around the planet. By doing so they can say differentiating between right from wrong, hence moral from immoral is punishable by a hefty fine for what they call discrimination. Same thing with a carbon credit economy.... heavy fees for causing climate damage. Whatever is ingrained in American society they have a contrarian idea to set fines and fees against it . They are deviant, defiant and will answer, in the end, to more than painted flames on the side of a hotrod. Sorry, but, my own temperature got a bit hot.
  17. Yeah I cut the grass for the first time here west side of the Cascades. Getting vegie garden ready and splitting next years fire wood. Nice to work on the trucks in sunny 60 degrees this morning.
  18. Did this start when you changed those injectors? Are they brand new not rebuilt/ reconditioned? Both my Cummins one with 425,000 miles and the other with 87,000 miles blow blue smoke till warmed up. It's normal unless it is excessive.
  19. can you give me a link? my computer does not show vids on this website. I have to go to u tube for example to get it. Thank you....
  20. I have sent you the wrong thinking by hoping it is something simple. If air is getting in via the suction side of the LP it would show up in the clear tubing fuel line. If you had a venting problem the engine would smooth out as soon as you opened the fuel cap. Another thought is to park the front end uphill so engine is higher than the tank. Park overnight that way and see if you are getting tank drain back, loosing prime, letting in air from bad injector seals. Sometimes they wont leak fuel but will let in smaller air molecules. I keep wanting it to be the inexpensive things anyhow Other thoughts are bad overflow valve or bad sensor somewhere. Make sure PCM ground, all other grounds and batteries have good clean tight connections.
  21. My roll over vent valve did the same thing when I filled the tank. I added my own tank vent. As far as air getting into the fuel I am talking about the section from the tank to the lift pump. Hence the suction side. Also concerned about debri in the tank. But I don't want you to have to go on a work load of possibilities. Do easy stuff first.
  22. Sounds to me the possibility you have an air leak on the suction side of the lift pump. Poss air leak at the fuel tank connection. After you go for a run does the fuel cap have a slight hiss/ sucking sound when loosening the fuel cap slowly? This indicates vacuum in the tank with a venting problem poss compounding an air leak. Me only knows possibilities never absolutes especially with guys like the owner of this site who knows a lot more than me.
  23. Beautiful sunset on the eve before Easter IB. Happy Easter to everyone btw.... it's a very special day today. It's very sad that a lot of calanders don't have this day on them any longer.
  24. Yes there are test results using two stroke in diesel fuel. The test compares several diesel additives with 2 stroke results up near the top in desirability and well within the Bosch specs. OptiLube is at the top for the lowest scoring in the test. I have not dynoed the 12 valve. It responds very noticeably with the 2 cycle and I like saving money for travels as much as possible.
