Bad Neighbor...
I drove around and talked with other neighbors. I now have 3 others that were kept awake. The 4th neighbor was driving out so I stopped him but,.couldn't help thinking, 'Oh $#it.... here's the typical scenario of the typical 'me myself and I' type of rude guy. I know it's not good to be judgementle but this guy had the shaved head, mean looking beard, driving a jacked up Ford truck. What else could you ask for in a situation like this? He did not admit to being the guy doing it but said , 'so what, it's good for you to not sleep'! Telling him of the others also affected last nite he gave the same response. I suspect it is him and another guy doing this together. My wife has heart problems along with many others getting older health problems around here. Me with a touch of flu, don't need to loose sleep. I will drive out with my wifes very quiet Subaru and sneak around and find him in the act tonight or any other nite this happens. I won't wait for it to end in the morning hours next time I'll even shut off my headlights if need be. I will keep you guys updated.

Bad Neighbor...
That's what I am doing. Deputy is supposed to call me this afternoon. I am in a position to really screw up the bad neighbors lives. I know a few building inspectors. The neighbors did two additions, a pole building turned into another house with people livin there. No permits or anything. A motor home with a fulltimer in there on the side. I'm going to try the nice tactics... go and talk with them... if that doesn't work it's county building dept time. Over the years I've put up with this crap of golf balls flying at me, mortars, bottle rockets, dirt clods shot on top of the rv, howling into the wee hours. This guy is an idiot. Now this shooting a different gun or illegal firework mortar but waiting every half hour for the next one. You don't know if it's ever stopped and can sleep. Don't know about you guys... if I'm woken up enough times in one night I can never get to sleep.

Bad Neighbor...
What do you guys do with a neighbor that shoots off guns after 11:00pm. He keeps doing it but waits till you are about to sleep again, approx. 20-30 mins, and then shoots off another. He does this fairly often, they are about 2-3 acres away. This guy used to be a real idiot but after his mom died in her sleep he inherited the place and is being an idiot again. What would you guys do?

What did you do before breakfast?
Me too LiveOak. It's a well known fact that Cummins owners live healthier and happier than the rest of the general population

1974 Dodge D300 Work in progess
I saw an older Chevy truck with graphics that looked better than anything I've ever seen before. It was two tones black and grey with misted metallic in the black and the grey was a metallic grey that went well with the black. It was coolest ever

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
For me it ain't wisdom..... it's more like realizing how stupid I was back when I was young. lol

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
Lol! Mike, Don't know if I can make it this season. I got a dozer pushing a pile of bills up my driveway since my wife just got out of the hospital. It was the first time we ever experienced this age thing catching up with us. She is okay and is getting better.

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
Mike, not everyone has big ole Popeye arms and hands. ((Big Smile here)) Besides my joints work different, aren't so universal.

Stalling
What about year 2002? Is there a one above the starter? Thanks. Kerley, Click on your name and then go to profile. I think when you scroll down it asks for your sig or truck you have.

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
Never could understand why they are so much harder to get off than what it takes to tighten them. It's better though, knowing it won't come loose.

Serp belt tensioner
I thought on an outside chance that might be you. I was headed toward 205 trying do anything that would get me out of this streak of laziness.

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
Abennin I think you gave me the idea for the right tool. Thank you ever so much. It should work well since I've learned the filters don't need to go so tight as before. Usually a bit more than hand tight works well.

Serp belt tensioner
Spray some spray oil on it and then wipe it down to see what it shows later on? I hope it's not a sign of bigger problems. Joe, was that you on Thursday at a stoplight on Beavercreek rd? You were towing a flat deck trailer right in front of Berryhill shopping center. It looked like you truck anyway.

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
I see your ideas but, my problem is that there is no way to easily slide anything up from the bottom with the items in the way underneath the filter. The metal strap is a problem trying to squeeze it back together to connect it. That is after I've stretched a lot of the factory curve out of the metal strap while feeding it around the filter from the side. To squeeze it back together with both hands and then drop the bolt or pin back in is a pain. Need a third hand. Need something like a clasp that will grab it when stretched out and then shorten it's grasp around the filter when clipped. Don't know why I'm the only one that's complained about this.

Is there a better Oil Filter Wrench?
On my 2nd gen it's harder to slide on a typical filter wrench because of some hoses and things up near the bottom of the filter. Is there an open strap type filter wrench? Where once you get the strap around the filter, you simply clip the strap end to the handle? Sort of like a toolbox latch/clip or something? I know there are some on the market but would like to hear of the best ones out there. Tired of several times trying to squeeze mine back together and drop the bolt back in. It's not easy. Thank you all in advance

Scotch Bright Pad in Dremel
Cool! Thank you for the money saving tip. I don't have a dremel nor the small air tool yet for cutting and polishing. Which is better? 'Tools and Tricks' board=good idea.

best all-around diesel truck?
Do you want to do the math on that Wild and Free? All things considered, price per mile to run either will be a bit better on the diesel and I know it'll make up for the extra expense for the fueI. perhaps return a portion of the diesel option. Then you have to take into account the bath your going to take for greater depreciation of the gasoline engine truck. Hope you are right as the price of diesel may go down compared to gasoline if the popularity of diesel engines ownership goes down. 18 yrs ago I was filling my 1st gen at .90 cents a gallon and it was smiles all the way down the road.

Norcold Refrigerator Help
When I bought my camper new and first used DC mode I learned real fast to never use it again. It drained down two new batteries very rapidly. I want to say again that you should almost never use the DC mode of frig operation. It just kills the batteries and is hard on your alternator, if I'm correct in saying that. So I always use the LP mode even while traveling, but, shut it off before fueling the truck. A post-it note on the steering wheel always reminds me to turn it back on.

Both Rear Calipers Dragging
No power bleeder here, but do have a good impact wrench. Never knew how much work it saved till I got one. Also, A very nice elderly lady gave me an old clicker type Snap-On torque wrench. Very first Sap-On I ever had in my hands. It's fun to use it.

best all-around diesel truck?
Yes, and if you do the math with payments you'll be wishen for your old truck back. Ever watch that show called Gas Monkeys Garage? I got to say for 40-50 k bucks you could build a more beautiful truck with your old one than you would ever get off the dealers lot. Trouble is... when your young it's hard to shake the idea of trading in a vehicle. When that bug bites it's hard to get it out of your blood. I know.... I used to be young and was a truck salesmans dream. Last thing I want to say..... I believe a Cummins engine is good for wearing down two trucks to almost complete metal fatigue if you find a good body and frame to drop your original engine into. I know this from my 400 k mile 1st gen because the engine is still like new in power and performance. It's an amazing machine.

Both Rear Calipers Dragging
Yes Joe, I only have about 80,000 miles, had 3 calipers stick tight so far. Not worth the trouble not to rebuild 'em each time you put new pads. I can't believe these brake shops letting almost 400,000 miles go on the clock (my old first gen) without changing wheel cylinders, calipers and leaving me with the dirty fluid. I always told them do what it needs when I go in. It's amazing. I don't like drum brakes on the old truck but, my 2nd gen has disc all around. They are too easy. From now on I'll do it all myself. Cannot help wondering how much labor I saved having done both trucks, all eight wheels, calipers rebuilt, all new fluid, pads and wheel cylinders on rear of 1st gen.

best all-around diesel truck?
I've been driving my 1st gen for 18 years now. Still a great truck same engine and trans. Mileage can't be beat, but the real boon is the fact that it has saved me from loosing money on buying at least 4 gassers by now. That' a lot of money right there and I'll be buried in this truck before I let it go.
