  1. I know some guys with the screen strainer in front of the lift pump have had clogs show up there. I would have the 20 micron prefilter before the lift pump instead/ removing the screen. this protects the lift pump and allows easy changing of a filter there instead. Check screen, remove and see if there is free flow of fuel from inside the tank as well or if there is an old fuel filter in there or varnished screens. With gauge responding slower than usual I think is a clue to what's happening.
  2. Thank you both. I have direction to try for now.
  3. 3/4 ton 92 Dodge Cummins 4x4 has new calipers, shoes, pads and new Master cylinder and all new fluid. Even though I have bled all 4 wheels 3 times the pedal still goes down 2/3rds of the way before the brakes work. When I pump the pedal several times the anti lock light goes out and brakes work beautiful. I've had this problem for a long time with two brake shops bleeding the jeepers out of them. Now with all new, I still couldn't figure it out. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch everyone. BTW, Try getting a donation to Mike for the forum everyone it's running lean right now. This is a great site don't want to loose it..
  4. I second this as it's happened to me before.... thought it was plugged in but wasn't.
  5. BUMP.......... .Anthony do you want me to go look at deal in Canby? Like I said it looks perfect, not an 18 grand who done what type a deal. I got day off.... like to help out. I wouldn't pay 18 k for a truck been messed with let alone that many miles. Canby is just off I-5 in north oregon
  6. There's a real nice one for sale in Canby, Oregon. Looks 'unmolested' Sitting on the sellers driveway not far from here........ I'll look into it for you if you want.
  7. Man! That took some drillin' and chippin'. Never seen that before.
  8. Don't know how true this is..... was told today that it's best to replace the pistons with steel ones as the phenolic resin stock pistons swell with time in the fluid. I just went with the old ones because it seems once you use the 600 grit paper so they drop in they are already swollen as far as they will by that time anyway. I almost bought the brake bleeder with the pressure gauge for $45.oo. But soon discovered bleeding was very easy with the wife working the pedal. In the end I wondered why my brake shop acts like everything I ask them to do is such a big hard job/ big deal as the job of rebuilding my calipers was so easy. Thanks Mopar Mike for the coaching.
  9. All he needs is one a them log plungers. Seriously though, wallpaper remover solution works real good/ makes it easy for next time anyway. First peel any vinyle covering that maybe on the wall paper then spray, wait 5 mins. and comes off so easily is fun to peal.
  10. I used to have an F250 that I built wood slat rails/ railing around the back. Even had a removable back . I had it all stained and varnished to look like furniture and looked real nice. In those days I was like today..... but, I know everything is going to be alright since I can afford Chic-fil-a meals . And camping
  11. Wish I had a woodie, one on a car show other night said it's worth around 50 60 grand.
  12. I hear you guys being in the trades myself. I did manage to build a home with shear determination, Did almost everything since I did not have much money. Never worked so hard, such long hours in my life. It was worth it as I look back.
  13. You guys make all the money. Plumbers, steam fitters got gold inlay on their door trim.
  14. I am not surprised. I'm glad you showed this and that I became aware. It does seem many levels of America and the rest of the world are deteriorating. Almost like news and any special report, no matter what subject, are unsurprising in the way it going downward. Its love of money. Bible descibes these things in later days as 'perplexing' and 'earth will become polluted' from consumption. I think God will let things deteriorate till a good number of us have finally put our hearts/ trust in the Lord.
  15. It's on the back and there is no stairs going up there. Besides I live in a real burglar trap as there's only one way out. All neighbors have guns, but the agreement is to just block the road with their cars and walk away till the county sheriff gets there. We got it set up to where one phone call gets everyone alerted so they can't get out and neither will our belongings. he he Too many trees to go around.
  16. The base plates will be copper also so I can bolt the posts down to the deck. Are you saying it's okay to use brazing rod to connect the square tubing to base plates? Thank you MnTom I appreciate this. Lucky I only need 9 posts as it could get expensive. And I already have the stainless cables to go thru the new posts. My wood posts are just starting to show signs of rot.
  17. I'd like some deck posts made of copper square tubing; is there anyway a base plate , for deck mounting can be welded/ fused to the square tubing? Other than soldering? Trying to do something that will look sort of old world weathered with time. Also will stainless bolts react with the copper and ruin the strength? Thank you
  18. Heard on the radio that one BLM officer took a very small 'little ol' lady' and flippeg her over his hip to take her down to the ground, getting her face shoved into the gravel. The officer was one of the larger officers. It was Bundy himself they interviewed and told his story. His son was tasered day before yesterday. Bundy says there are around 1,000 protesters giving him support. Folks from all around the country called and are rooting for him and his family. Many said if they had the money they'd fly out and add their support. Two that said this were LEO's.
  19. Count me crazy, I saw a quite a mileage increase on my stock engine/truck by doing some simple mods. I'm not sure if it caused the computer to work more efficiently or what, here's the things I did; Ran a ground wire from the alternator housing to pass. battery because I found weak grounding thru the alt mount bracket. Ran a ground from the ecm mounting bolt to the drivers side battery. negative Placed nylon washers behind the ECM on mounting bolts to help isolate from engine block heat. Retorqued the intake manifold bolts. Made a bracket out of fiberglass to isolate stock fuel filter housing off of engine heat. Made my next 1400 mile run (I do this same trip often) thinking my fuel guage was going bad because mileage increased by at least 10%. I was very surprised and like said before, I thought my sender was going bad but when I filled up at the same place as always it took a lot less gallons. I don't know.... maybe 75,000 miles means the Cummins is just breaking in. I'm also running with a 0216 code for 2 years now.
  20. Me and another guy took turkey basters and sucked out the old PS fluid several times after runs till it was changed over, nice and clear. We both used the Valvoline synthetic ps fluid and noticed smoother operation and the squeal at start up in cold temps was gone as well. I know there was one report of a leak using ATF. When he changed over to actual PS fluid leak went away.
  21. Way I understand it is this family settled this land in 1870 when the land was considered worthless. This was way before BLM ever existed. Then BLM comes along years later and says it's theirs... pay the fees for grazing or else. Now they might go so far as to kill this guy and steal his cattle. What needs to happen is the Governor step in and and grant him his deed to the land. Obama should if the Governor won't. It's sad if they don't step in to help this family. A disagreement over building codes warranted the building Dept. I was dealing with to call in 3 police officers from next door. Even though I maintianed myself, stayed polite
  22. Just had to replace my dip tube. A broken dip tube makes it so you will only get about a third the hot water you used to get. It's so the cold water does not get near the outlet side/ goes to the bottom of the tank. I think quite a few people may not even know their dip tube is broken. Thinking the WH has always been that way. A new tube costs very little, but need a nice set of channel locks to get at it inside the inlet nipple. WH factory gets those pretty tight. It's always best to get a new longer nipple anyway because the WH manufacturers can make putting in a new dip tube almost impossible on their nipple. Some have a bit of water restriction inside the nipple. So all new is best.
  23. I read on TDR that a few mothballs under the hood does the trick. Something about the chemical they can't tolerate.
  24. It's been siting for 2-3 years. Does it get the dirt settled out of it enough to pour off the top clean layer and mix with the fuel in my 12 valve? Thank you for all thoughts.
  25. I've never gotten dead pedal but been runnin with the 0216 code for 2 or 3 years now using heavey doses of 2 stroke oil in the fuel and keeping fuel pressure/ flow good. Mine could have been set off, though, by bad fuel flow sucking air at times
