Pilothouse/RAM3500 build
Man.... I can't help thinking how incredible it is taking on a project like that on the pilothouse truck. To me that's what the word 'amazing' is all about. Please do some pics if you have time.

Fuel filtering
Joe place the ball valves either side of the Raptor and Filter so servicing the pump is easier too. I'd junk the inlet screen on the Raptor after you get a prefilter installed. It's just another restriction you don't need. Make sure the prefilter is designed to go on the suction side. Also junk the intank screens and the little plastic filter in the bottom of the fuel canister. It just unsnaps/ pops off the canister housing. All that stuff in my book is Dodge's cheap way to try and filter without doing it right. On the big Motoryachts when the Cummins engines run reliably lives depend on it in the open ocean. Each and every Diesel engine at sea has a pre lift pump filter refered to as 'prefilter' or primary filter and then the secondary filter. Talk about long lasting filters... having the primary and secondary filter really works for that

What's Your Prediction For America's Future?
T shirt can't cost more than 20 bucks I sure wish they'd investigatwe who got most of the 640 million dollars to start the O'care website. Might find some real criminal activity, ousting some of those rats. I don't see much real work getting done in Gov't. positions. I have to ask myself; what the heck do they do all day anyhow???? And as it stands most hard working Americans try fullfilling their American dream

You can't cure stupid RV owners...
It's my thought that no one is perfect. We all have accomplished unbelievable mistakes sometime during our lives.

What's Your Prediction For America's Future?
I get the feeling most folks are tired of the poor behavior of our Gov't. Tired of the bs, the lack of positive agenda out of Washington. I see folks more willing to focus more on helping neighbors, wether in a store or just on the sidewalk, they can at least have some good influence. At least that's the drift I'm getting around town. They just want some sense of being able to do something positive. that's not Gov't Bull Sh1t.

Both Rear Calipers Dragging
I had this same problem on bothe rears. One was a long long way from home. I hit the caliper with a hammer at the same time while prying it open. It never acted up again.

What's Your Prediction For America's Future?
Without talking about what should be done and not getting polical in this discussion, what is your thoughts on where we are heading today? Will we see rapid inflation? Economic collapse? If so, can you share what that actually means? What explicit occurances do you see going forward? Suppose our leaders wake up..... do you think things could still around and bring back the economic strength we once enjoyed? I'm trying to get a handle on how you all think things will develope for our future. Thanks for your thoughts to all fellow Cummins enthusiasts around here .

Canadian Police Chase
Driply, last permit application the lady at the counter was a 'pissy missy'. She actually called in three police officers from next door (we were in city hall) over a discussion on code requirements. I knew she was wrong about it and quoted her the code. That's when she called the police to enter in and have them stand all around her. It was like she'd love to have me hauled off to jail I could tell from the very beginning that she enjoyed annoying me. None the less, I stayed very polite from the very get go and the whole way thru

Aren't they just going for a building permit?

Article On Lift Pump Specs/vp44 1999 Dodge 24 Valve
Yes.... and I heard those in tank pumps are about as good as sending air bubbles thru your kids aquarium tank. Sorry about that comment..... I just couldn't resist but, I wouldn't think of a new VP until my fuel supply system was revamped properly. That means no short cuts and doing like everyone else around here is talking about.

Article On Lift Pump Specs/vp44 1999 Dodge 24 Valve
When I first got my truck I did not drive it until I got rid of the stock lift pump and got the fuel pressure gauge installed. It should be a minimum of 14 to keep the VP cool/ not overheat. My strong recommends; Good aftermarket FP gauge and lift pump on the frame 1/2 inch fuel lines all the way... no bajo bolts. Get rid of the intank screens and fuel filter in the bottom of the tank module, Put on your own filter before the lift pump to keep it changed and happy. One qt. of stroke oil every new tank of fuel.

Hauling Truck Camper On A Srw 3/4 Ton
I like the forged Rims made by Alcoa that Ford put on their trucks from 95 thru 97. They are rated at #3750 and the Dodge center caps will fit on them too. Used to be able to find a set on Craigslist for around $200 but, word spread about how good they are and are getting harder to find. I know 19 1/2'' are the way to go but expensive when buying wheels and the tires too. I like the old Alcoas. They are a very well built rim with a thick clear coating on them. You do have to watch for the yellowing around where the wheel weights were put on. Somehow the lead weights react with the coating over time. Best to have the wheel shop put on the stick on weights inside the rim instead. MnTom, sorry about picking Datsun for being the lightweight truck... I used to delivere them from an auction yard to dealers. They always lasted a long time. I still feel the same as always till I look in the mirror and see my age

When Will The First *** Dodge/cummins Owner Come Out?
Those cars guys are makin' all the money. Interesting some can pull down $5,000 on one car just making the right deal with only a quick clean up and detailing . If we get together I can make up a cut list for the cut out and material sizes for the tank access with bolt lengths of everything you need. One steel support needs a notch to keep in place for support. I figured it all out so no new holes are drilled into the frame, just using existing holes. Had my 3400 lb camper on all last summer for the test, no sags or tweeks in the bed. Be willing to help with it too if you want.

When Will The First *** Dodge/cummins Owner Come Out?
Thank you for the invite Joe, but, my wife likes the church weve been going to for many years in Oregon city. Even though I know it would be exciting to see God's work taking place in a new church in Colton. There are a lot of good friendly folks out your way. I know this from having lunch at the little cafe several times... people behave as if everyone is family out there I noticed lots of folks out there are into the kinds of things I'm interested like working on cars and trucks too. I have a very good buddy that I help out there once in awhile. We should meet up for coffee and lunch sometime........ Mike

Hello From Almost 1St Time Diesel Owner From Nj
I second this opinion. I think the truck is in pretty rough shape, been neglected and will cost more than a good clean truck when all is done that needs to be done. I mean that without going to extreme expense either.

When Will The First *** Dodge/cummins Owner Come Out?
My gradmother escaped Germany when the Nazis started to gain power. She had the correct discrimination skills to see that it was wrong. She was one of the lucky ones. If you guys read the Bible giving it full advantage, full oppurtunity, you will see it begin to affect your heart in a very great way, you will begin to see a wisdom unlike any other. God is not a harsh God and we all need his wisdom of forgiveness and love toward others.

Fuel Pressure And Hydraulic Buzzing?
I have the same exact thing going on with my fuel pressures. I assum it is normal ambient temperatures affecting the thickness or liquidity of the fuel. Mine's been that way always. As for the hydralic buzzing..... I had the same exact thing happening there too. After reading of a guy with the same problem, stating he changed out the power steering fluid with synthetic fluid and the noise went away, also had smoother steering. I did as he recommended, robbed my wifes turkey baster, Kept sucking out the old fluid, putting in new synth several times till it basically got changed over. I would change as much as I could then drive it causing it to mix with the old and change it again till it was perfectly clear. I have never had a problem since and it helped the old first gen truck also. Please do go out and buy your wife a new turkey baster before she finds out though....... it's the worst thing in the world to get in trouble with a nice lady on Thanksgiving day. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Don't just try cleaning it and putting it back neither Use Valvoline Syn Power

When Will The First *** Dodge/cummins Owner Come Out?
Basically, most all religons have the same laws. They all boil down to the one most important great principle of all..... to love your neighbor as thyself.............(not a twisted sexual meaning). It's a sinful mind that causes wars and killings over misinterpretation. We are all sinful in nature is why we need such guidance. You younger guys will see..... as the Bible says lawlessness will increase, seas will roar, (climate change) not from our trucks neither.... it's from an increase in evil deeds toward each other. The Bible tells us not to hate anyone but rather love is key to helping them understand God and true love. I have nothing against sinners, but sin itself, it's just when you pass laws condoning sin is when it's so so bad. I believe that country will get punished.
