best all-around diesel truck?
The mileage difference with a diesel makes it a worth while investment compared to gasoline powered. When hauling heavy loads the mileage difference is even more significant. Somewhere around /near 50% better mileage, I think that is correct. Then when you go to sell it or trade in you get lots more of your money back than a somewhat tired gas engine truck.

Vehicle Accident: Roll over
Around here they speed up so they can stop harder at the red light. He he. it's so silly Your safest place in the world of travel is behind a big rig going a safe speed. Just think how many cars he is slowing down / protecting from the oncoming in your lane speeder. there's no point to being in a hurry as eternity has no time. So I say slow down and live as though all the time in the world is on your side. You'll be much happier

storm 'chasers'
I know what you mean..... they commercialize every single aspect of storms just to increase the ratings on the amount they are paid for showing commercials. It ends up being embellishment over and over. It's shame when every story is treated as just another way to collect more money.

AD 150 Weird Issue
Intersting! I thought I was the only one. It's like the bearing/ bushings are worn so it slows down for a split second. Mine will drop around 3-4 psi off the line too if I get on it.

Returned Home: Camping at Hot Springs
Always nice to take the scenic route. We usually always try avoiding the main highways and go for the one, no one else in a hurry wants to use. My wife just got back to Oregon from Nebraska and says pretty much everyone is doing 80 on the interstaes. Even towing boats in strong winds did not slow them down. She says everyone that swerved into her lane was from Colorado. We think it's from smokin' that marijuana bill they passed.

AD 150 Weird Issue
My Raptor 100 does the same thing on hard twists and turns in the road. It's weird. Fuel pressure does bounce right back though without restarting

How much you Guys payin' for Insurance?
Be nice to compare........ On my 2002 24 valve 3/4 ton I'm paying $352 for full coverage every 6 months. Is that a good rate? Clean driving record no accidents or fender benders. T.I.A.

Hard Starting after Fuel pump Replacement
I've lost prime or had tank drainback because of improper filter cap torque, but then I'm not sure if the 98.5's are the same plastic cap type filter as my 02. It's supposed to be turned to 25 ft. lbs. Another drainback was caused by a loose injector after priming engine. I think there is something wrong in the tank because priming should be a 5 min. job. You could have clogged screens in the tank from varnish, perhaps an old dealer installed intank lift pump and just may solve your current problem. At any rate you need to install a fuel pressure gauge and have no more headaches with factory fuel lines and banjos. It's like trying to drink a coke thru a WD-40 straw. It's bad/ hard on the injection pump because it needs good easy fuel flow for cooling. It needs a min. 14 p.s.i. at all times for best cooling of the electronics. A factory pump with replaced 1/2 inch fuel lines including the 1/2'' drawstraw will only attain about 14-15 p.s.i.. Aftermarket lift pumps are adjustable and can adjust higher for heavy hauling uphills when the cooling is most needed. However aftermarket pumps unfortunately are cutting back on quality and are loosing what used to be a pretty good reputation. You should do these inexpensive items above before anything expensive..... you'll end up in the future doing them anyhow to protect the injection pump. A little better option is with the lift pump moved down on the frame as close to the tank as poss. as these pumps are designed to push fuel rather than suck. Better to have around 30 micron pre lift pump filter to protect the lift pump. Filter should be designed for suction side. MoparTechnition has a good suggestion above. He wants you to just bump the starter motor, not start the truck in order to get the lift pump going for the 25 seconds to see if the filter housing will fill up.

Fire Call: Vehicle Accident
People don't think. If they only knew how horribly painful it is just to get a badly injured hand or arm. The body is fragile. There have been deaths at even 30 mph. If folks would realize how lucky we are today, not so long ago it would take 1- 3 days or even a week to go to the store with a Buckboard and horses.

New CO emission reduction plans
Do you say that because just you and me changing water pump or alternator gets more work than the Gov't does all year? Or........ you've hear this over an over already?

New CO emission reduction plans
I think Obama is pure American plastic (depending of course, where his birth certificate originates from). IHO, all he is doing is setting up a campaign direction for Hillary by trying to suck more Dems into voting for her with this phony ploy. He knows it works ,even without coherent reason, since Liberals will suck it all up out of rebellion and hate toward the Republican. I look at how they rebel without proper reason against God's precepts Me..... I'm neither a Dem nor Rep. I vote out of reasoning with what God's law says. The Bible even states that those concerned about the 'whole earth' near the end times will be on the wrong path to true faith. The Bible also states thousands of years before the industrial revolution and invention of the combustion engine that the earth will become polluted near the end times. Mopar Mike, I fully understand your point about CO. iT'S A VERY GOOD ONE indeed. Makes things look like it's just another Government ploy. I say they get no more money till they learn to live on a budget.

Fuel gauge issues
I will get the material/ bolt list done this weekend. It is a somewhat limited way in which you can do this mod, so I'll post up what I can on it in a few days. Comment on the fuel module....It goes to the full mark when the ground is complete (no resistance full connection). Fuel modules send a graduated scale of resistance so empty would be a fully open circuit like shutting off a light switch but with graduated/ varying degrees of being more or less connected in between the off and on. Think it's called a potentiometer or rheostat. You said you got the gauge to show full with a full connection to ground. This tells me the wire system is okay, gauge is okay but still have a bad sending unit . Did you see the old one when they changed it out? They are supposed to save the old parts. It's good business to do that for the customer. Especially when you could easily then test the old one to see if they hit the mark on what was wrong.

New CO emission reduction plans
They say 'Chinese' to help take respobibility off our Gov't. officials for another tax that further erodes our freedom and persuit of happiness. That is obvious since the Chinese don't care how much pollution they emit. So bad over there in some cities you need to wash the particulates off your car each day. Just another pile of bs... way to make money without producing anything or working.

Tampa got a little rough weather as well....
Makes for a great place to live when it's like that . I find it real interesting that areas with a HOA are often uptight places and can be unpleasant.

Interesting post/ pics. Usually a fence starts to go sections at a time, not the whole thing like that. Looks like you got a good neighborhood, good neighbors too.

What Happen ?
x 2. I'm embarrassed to say, but, I'm still on the original antifreeze in my 02 and the inside looks brand new still. Not a thing growing or rusting. I test it every once in awhile with my ph test kit. and it's always alkaline.

VP44 factory lift pump?
Yep it works good doesn't it. Glad I learned early about a fuel pressure gauge. I think I had two fail in about 40 or 50 thousand miles.

VP44 factory lift pump?
The factory lift pump on the frame with big line kit all the way will hold about 14 all the time. I carry a factory lift pump in the tool box just for back up because I have one of the Raptor pumps. A big line kit makes a huge difference and the pump doesn't work so hard. My fuel line is set up with the right threaded adapters to accept the factory pump if needed.
