Yeah............I'm about 12 miles East of Lake Michigan........................still snowing hard as ever and wind blowing harder........................looks like I never shoveled off the driveway at all!!!!!

It's happening here right now. Have probably 14-16" of snow now and they're calling for the "heaviest" snow to start around 4:00PM. Started around midnight last night. It's hard to tell how much snow we've gotten because of the wind..................which is coming out of the ENE with gusts to 40mph. Pictures tomorrow. I'm hibernating and gonna watch the SB tonight.

I said "sort of".....................via the average total engine hours. The lower the average MPH, odds are there is more idling time!!!!

You can sort of check the "idling" time on our 3rd gen trucks by getting the total "engine hrs" from the odometer display and divide it by the mileage on the truck. IIRC they'd like to see an average of greater than 30mph................35mph is better. The last I checked mine, I was 35.7xx average mph.

Yeah. From what I've read, it works somewhat like a rheostat. Normal fan speed is kept at a "range" less than engine speed. The plug has 5 terminals in it...................

The new fan clutch arrived today!! They said it wouldn't arrive until next Tuesday, but it got here today!! Won't be able to install it until next week though, as I have a hunt test to go to this weekend with the dogs. Here's a couple pix of the unit.

I've been working on putting "crown moulding" up in my house to hide the piss-poor taping and mudding and the nail pops from when my dump was built!!!! This is the "last" of the crown........................in the hall terlit....................as I've done the rest of the house already.

Ordered a "new" OEM fan clutch on Ebay from a place in MA. The ad said "guaranteed New" and was the cheapest around..............$319.95 which includes shipping. Yesterday afternoon before ordering, I gave the front end of the truck the "once over" again just to make sure I really think this is the fan clutch bearing making this noise. Slipped the belt off again and tested all the other pulleys and they seem solid.........................even the fan clutch pulley. The only noise is from the fan clutch itself when the belt is attached. It has about 5/8" slop when measured and the fan blade tip. I found where less than 1/4" is acceptable in this. It also makes a "rubbing/mild grinding?" noise when spun. All that said, this is gonna be a PITA to change out.

I ordered my '99 with the vinyl floor rather than the carpet. I loved it!! If I could've gotten the vinyl floor in my '04.5, I would have for sure.

Heat Wave!!!!! Got up to a whopping 16*F today here!!!! It was still -8*F when I woke up though!!

-5*F at my humble little dump when I got up this morning. Got up to 0*F around 1:00PM and so now dropping. -2*F as I type this at 3:30PM local time. The weather idiots are calling for -10*F in Chitcago.............which should mean -15*F or lower up by me. The killer right now around me is that Lake Michigan is still mostly open water as are the couple rivers near me. Damp, damp, damp, coupled with this cold and wind makes it's BRUTAL!!!

Don't knock her.............................she's a girl and is at least trying to use mirrors for backing!!!

Hope my pooches would do the same!
