  1. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised!!!
  2. I've not found an outfit that will deliver full length logs. If I could, I'd do that, and process it all in my yard.
  3. I did say USUALLY it's not an efficient way to move heat. It's usually much easier and more efficient to move cool air. Don't know what brand or size blower that's in the furnace..........................but the furnace/blower were about 2 feet to my left when I took the picture of the desk fan at the end of the hallway. Main floor, center of the house. My house has 4 air returns...............essentially one in each corner of my little 1100sq.ft. single story ranch house...........one return IS in the stove room. The ducts for those are in the unheated attic and covered with about 1-2" of fiberglass insulation. These ducts run toward the center of the house where the furnace/blower is....................thru the filter.....................thru the heat exchanger..................then down into the plenum which is in the unheated crawl space. From the plenum all the separate lines go out to the rooms of the house................all ducts are uninsulated. Don't know how your duct work is, but still, you're losing a fair bit of heat thru them. I'll be willing to bet that in my house if I tried what you do, I'd lose much more. The temps may or may not be higher on my end, but I think I'd have a great loss as the temperature differential between the return and discharge.
  4. Unless ALL the duct work in your house is insulated, this is usually not a good option to move heat...............as the "heated" air has to travel back to the blower/furnace via the AIR RETURN/RETURNS, then into the plenum to be distributed to the ducts that go to the rest of the house. Not very efficient. It's much, much more efficient to move the colder air toward your stove...................along the floor if possible...............because that's where the cooler air is. I use a small 6" desk fan on the floor at the end of my hallway blowing air ON LOW, on the floor toward the stove room. This gets a "convection" current going in my house, causing the back bedrooms to get almost as warm as the stove room. The fan is much quieter than listening to the whole house blower also. I don't use this little fan all the time either.
  5. This^^^^^^^!!!!!!
  6. This is my 4th season heating with wood. Bought my stove new. I cook on it a lot. I need a trivet to keep food from burning/cooking too fast.
  7. Houses that run fireplaces often have a "net heat loss" in the house as a whole............although the fireplace room way be warm. If possible, save a cord or 2 of your "softwoods" Mike...............and let them "season" another year..............burn them next year. I think you'll find much, much less build up in your chimney!!! I know I posted the pictures here when I swept my chimney after last season...........what was it...........less than 5 cups of stuff that looked like coffee grounds???
  8. I use an OAK.......Outside Air Kit..........on my stove. Really cut down on the "draftiness" in my house. My house is much warmer now. Think of it this way..................if you're using your heated inside air for your stove, where does the air that "replaces" your heated inside air come from?????? It comes from the outside, thru all the little nooks, crannies, and gaps in your house. That's also why it gets so dry inside your homes in the Winter. You're pulling outside air into your homes which has almost no moisture in it; and warming it up, which makes it even drier................relative humidity. If you're getting creosote buildup, you're burning wood that's not truly seasoned yet IMHO.
  9. Started all as snow yesterday around 6:00pm. Went to bed around 10:30pm with about 2" in the grass. Woke up to this on my deck at 7:00am.................. Here's one of my pooches "high-centered" in the back yard at around 10:00am........ And one of PegPeg "high-centered" in my back yard at around 10:00am!! And now one after the "storm" has passed........................notice the "red sky at night", and my wellhead in the lower right corner of the picture. The top of my wellhead is just below knee high...................
  10. I couldn't find anything resembling my wiring in all my searches. I've got one of the first 04.5's...............and I'm sure there was a lot of niggardly ways by Diamond to use all the '03-'04 parts up before delving into the new stuff.
  11. Just split and stacked about a 1/4 cord of Ash today. Won't get burned this year though. Trying to get 3 years ahead on wood.
  12. Bump for John in case he's not seen this yet.
  13. The weather idiots are calling for 6-12" of snow here starting tomorrow night. It's 41*F with a 30mph West wind right now. Not a cloud in the sky either.
  14. You's guy's need a lesson from George...........
  15. Almost 65*F here today.
  16. My stove cruising last night................IMG_0606.MOV
  17. I'd almost have to say injectors are shot...........
  18. I'm driving to the airport shortly to go to Florida for 2.5 days to shoes horses. Will take that picture when I get back.
  19. The underside of the cover correct????? So that you can see the lay out of the fuse and relay locations and the wording used to describe each location/position???
  20. RPRV, CCOV come to mind real quick. Rail pressure should be around 6500psi at idle. Do you have enough fuel to the CP3??
  21. Same here!! That "transmission relay" in position 59 has me wondering though Do relays "wear out" over time??
  22. 3rd day now around here that's been 70*F+.....................don't need the stove for now!!
