  1. Hope it works out for you!! But I have a hard time getting a handle on how some "cloudy" diesel could trash a FCA!!!!! It's still on the relatively "low pressure" side of things IIRC.
  2. What does this truck sound like when idling??? With max RP, it should be loud as hell.
  3. How much have you burned this year??? Normally by this time of year, I'm well into the 3rd full cord of wood. Normally burn about 3 full cord per burning season. As of now; I'm probably at 1.75 full cords burned so far. Twas mild in October and November until the blizzard just before Thanksgiving..................then it got mild....................Most of January was cold......................Febuary and had mild and cold........................March has been fairly mild.
  4. Check out what he^^^^^^^ said. Tranny bolts to engine, and tranny X-member support would be guesses in addition to Hawkez as far as "hard" parts go. I wouldn't rule out injectors at all. Not with that many miles on them. Do you run a "rail pressure" gauge?? Unless you've done the "deletes", I would not use 2 stroke oil in your 6.7.
  5. I've never been able to "manually" engage the high idle on my '04.5. I've tried it in the past, but not with the new Smarty download.
  6. I've not disabled it, and it works just fine...............................but it won't kick on after sitting in my un-heated garage overnight within the time frame we're looking at. With the temps we're gonna see tonite, my attached, un-heated garage will be in the mid to upper 30's when I'll start it in the AM.
  7. Like manually doing the "high idle" thing by me depressing the throttle and then not driving???? Will try tomorrow. If no lights and no chime..................what are you thinking?? I hit the stopwatch feature on my iPhone as soon as my truck started after cycling the grid heater. As soon as the idiot gauge started moving up, I hit STOP. It was about 25 degrees.
  8. 2 minutes 23 seconds from startup to the "idiot" dash charge gauge to come back today. Is that normal?? Cranks fine. The Hrumf is not seen in the tach. Heck, most folks wouldn't probably notice it. I can hear it when its clicking in and out............it's slight, but it's there. It's not at all like what happens in the welding trucks when the arc is stuck. I'm gonna have to wait for the tests guys, as it's too cold to work on the truck, and we got 6 inches of snow yesterday and supposed to get a few more tomorrow. Next week is a Florida work week for me.................so this'll be a little while. Should I check my RP gauge when this happens??? The ECM adjusts for the load no????? So the RP should change when this happens, no???
  9. What's a DVM???? In almost 12 years of ownership, I've never disconnected the grid heaters!!!!
  10. No codes.................but this seems to be a "thing" since the Smarty Update you provided me with. Just saying, of course!!! If I let my truck idle while the alternator charge the batteries.....................when my truck "clicks" on the grid heaters there is a noticeable "HRRUMFF" of the engine. Not anything noticeable when it clicks off..........................save for the solenoid clicking.......................... But every time the grid heater clicks OFF....................there is a noticeable HRUMMFF in the engine idle.
  11. I've been experiencing something, that I think is new........................or else I've never really noticed it before. When I start my truck, and it's Winter here now....................I let the grid heaters do their thing. Then start my truck.................always starts. Seems like the "charge gauge" on the dash is taking a longer than normal time to come back. I don't even recall what is normal time for it. Here's the thing about my posting this though....................if I start to drive BEFORE the charge gauge comes back, I will get the ABS and Brake light flash on the dash along with the single chime. If I wait until the charge gauge comes back up.....................no chime or lights. Batteries are just over a year old.................as is the alternator.
  12. How about an update on these tires John. Probably spring for these Spring/Summer this year. I'm sneaking up on 80,000 miles on the Discoverer AT3's now. About 650 miles to go.
  13. Out of sight.............out of mind!!
  14. WOW!!!!!
  15. Happy New Year everyone!!! Happiness is a large wood pile!!
  16. You should see them in bed........................Sometimes they pin me down under the covers when they get on each side of me!!!
  17. First really COLD stretch here this year. Even when we got all the snow here prior to Thanksgiving, it was at or just below 32*F. Twas 16*F here this morning and only got up to about 28*F during the day. The cold came in sometime on Wednesday....................can't say for sure, because I was working in Ocala, FL Tuesday thru Thursday. I did finally switch on my NG furnace before leaving; even though I had it set on 55*F. Needless to say, when I got home Friday at around noon, my house was quite cool!!! Here's what she's at now.............................
  18. I really do like my Benelli SBE 1's, and my Glock 19's though!!
  19. Just approaching 79,000 miles on my Cooper Discoverer AT3's in stock size..............LT265/70 17E.
  20. GDP Fuel Boss would be my choice now.
  21. I know several folks with the Blaze King King. They love the thing............................the "CAVEAT" being is that the unit requires TRULY SEASONED wood for the performance that is advertised. If you try to burn "wet wood" the catalyst won't fire, and you won't get heat. That's the reason I'm trying to get 3 years ahead on firewood. To make sure my wood is truly seasoned. Splitting in the spring and early summer; and then burning in that same wood in the early Fall and Winter, IMHO, is not seasoned wood...................no matter what Mike says!!! Sorry Mike!! If'n you're willing to forth the work to get "at least" 2 year ahead on wood and better yet, 3 years ahead..........................I'd recommend the Blaze King King in a minute. If you're gonna procure in the fall to burn that Winter..................I'm not gonna help you. Go here for help if you don't believe me, go here for way more info than I can type here..........................http://www.firewoodhoardersclub.com and http://www.hearth.com
  22. What was it plugged up with???? I'll bet I can guess!!!
  23. Everyone!!! Have a God filled, safe, and enjoyable day y'all!!
