Anybody install a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) kit on their Cummins?
So what did you buy the kit for? Did your buddy buy it from them? Trying to get an idea of what the overall cost would be...

A rant, a rave, a consult?
I don't know what they have done to the truck. All I know is my in-laws told me they could not find it anywhere on the lot. I guess they told them they needed to sign something to sign for a lost title.... BIG RED FLAG Nope, this man is one of the owners close friends, so they have been at this for a while. My mother just recently told me she felt like she got ripped off going through this place, too. Maybe a class action lawsuit may be in order! I'm going to make my in-laws run down to the dealership that the guy I know works at. He said he would have one of his people look it over and give them some advice. If they say this is all illegal, I will be going to the attorney general.

...tell me about it. I talked to the bozo over the phone today instead of wasting my saturday. All I can say is I think he is a real piece of work. Its unfortunate, too, as he calls himself a christian man... My problem is, what sort of physical evidence do I have to prove he has been fraudulent?

A rant, a rave, a consult?
This may get little long winded.... I'm supposed to go down to Spokane today and chew a car lot owners a$$ out for taking advantage of my in-laws... So, the chevy truck they own, apparently has problems. Some of you may remember I brought up a thread about trying to fix it as it was getting poor fuel mileage and throwing codes. Well, they took it to a shop and it turned out to be the intake manifold gaskets. Okay, easy enough, lets get it fixed! Oh wait, now the transmission is going out? Thats debatable... So they insist on going out and trying to get a different vehicle.. fine, its your life. I try to warn them about getting a vehicle and that they NEED to take me with them on anything they do! Well, one night I come home from work and there it is, a '02 dodge. WTF! So I grill them about it and the lot gave them 3 days with it to find out if they wanted it or not. I looked it over and even brought that one up in a thread as well. Never had a chance to get pics and pursue it further as they decided not to take it. Well, time goes on and they keep looking. They get another weekend together and they head to Spokane. Little did I know they did this, as I told them next time they go anywhere go to a place I would go. Well, they don't go there! Instead, they go to another car lot and get themselves into some trouble! So, once again, I come home to see another truck in the driveway! This time, its an '06 1 ton cummins. I look the truck over and was not too fond of what I was seeing. Did not even look inside or open the hood! The FIL was up and asked him about it and he said he was able to get it for a few days to decide. I see a bunch of paperwork on the counter and look it over. Well, according to this paperwork, they BOUGHT IT! I say, "hey, this verbage here scares me. You sure about this?" He goes, "yea, the guy said he would write it up." Then he says, "but, yea, we did not like it on the drive home, so were going to take it back." Next day, I come home from work, again, now its this toyota forerunner, WTF! I had to hear it from the wife... They went back to get their truck, and the owner of the lot WILL not give it back to them! So he gave them this loaner vehicle to drive until they could figure out what vehicle they wanted! So, the next morning, I go in, look the paperwork over more, and technically yea, it all looks like they signed everything over to buy this '06 ram! Now, here is the kicker, and you fellas tell me, the owner of the lot would not give them their truck back because they used that as part of a trade-in. This guy says they have already down work to it and on the transmission and it was NOWHERE to be found on the lot! Now, here is where it gets interesting IMO: The due bill says, verbatum: "Dealer allow customer 3 days to have vehicle inspected by a certified mechanic for major mechanical problems, being engine or transmission problems. If a major mechanical problem is found at time of inspection, dealer can either fix problem or unwind deal, dealers choice. Otherwise sold as is No other free work promised. Also says, void after 6/20/2014 NOW, tell me this, they had this truck for one day before they returned it. They did not get to fulfill the opportunity to get it looked over. They were told by the salesman, that this was going to allow them 3 days to decide if they wanted it. Instead, he writes this down. Classic bait and switch! Heres what gets me... when they came back to tell them they wanted their truck back, these 3 days had not even passed yet, and they had already done stuff to their personal vehicle! HOW is this possible?! YOUR telling me that before this 3 day agreement was fulfilled that their may be a possibility this truck your trying to sell could have problems and that the deal could have fallen through and you already took their truck and did what you did?! There was never an intention to let them have it back, period... This is what gets me, this is all total deception and they were co-erced into doing this. I asked them about all this paperwork and why they signed ANYTHING. They told me they thought it was required to get the vehicle to decide. I'm not sure I can bring myself to tell you how much this snake in the grass sold this truck to them for, either! Its one of the most EXPENSIVE vehicles on the lot! Okay, it will total out to 27,100 after all is done and said! Now, after looking this paperwork over, this due bill MAY be the only thing I have as physical evidence for anything as the rest of it looks legit, that they bought themselves an expensive turd. HOW can they have them sign for this truck the SAME day they go there, NEVER having the opportunity to get it checked out first! After reading this over, I straight up called them, was not able to get in touch with the owner, but did get to talk to one of the snakemen. I firmly called them out on it and told them I would be there today to meet with the owner to b!tch him out about this. I have threatened to go to the ATTORNEY GENERAL. I have also called a fellow salesman, which in all irony I actually respect. The man has been in the business for 27 years. Unfortunately, not able to see him in person. I did call him for a little consult over the phone about it and he says the whole thing is a bunch of garbage and they don't have a leg to stand on. This lot co-erced my inlaws, which are seniors, btw, into a deal that they did not even have the opportunity to fulfill their end of the deal because they signed for it before the 3 days was even up. All they wanted was the ability to shake the loan out of them. The owner of the lot told them if they did not like the truck, they could get something else. I GOT NEWS BUDDY, I DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS! We still have the title to their personal vehicle, too. HOW can they do any work on their truck before taking complete OWNERSHIP OF IT! Alright, fellas, where could I go from here?!

What size is the Dodge factory towing package?
I too have the same sticker on my hitch... I've put a 13k trailer on mine, so that would be in the ballpark of 1,300 tongue weight. It was a double axle trailer with a forklift.

To dually or not to dually?
Yep, sounds like I will just stick to SRW. I had contemplated the idea of the 19.5's for extra capacity/safety. Sounds like that will be the route I will go if this goes through. Either way, I will actually look into them, lol.

brake problems?
Ahh, I see. I was speculating that maybe you were experiencing the first initial braking applications. If that was the case it would have more than like have been from the flash rust occurring on the rotors.

To dually or not to dually?
Alright, so I may have an opportunity to acquire myself another truck. My current one may go to my in-laws and I will be able to take the liquidity from the sale and buy another cummins. Question is, given that I have such a large trailer, should I get a dually? My 3/4 ton SRW handles it, but how well compared to? I know I will NOT ever get another auto or short bed AGAIN. So, those are 2 stipulations. I have found numerous cummins with less than 100k miles on them and the price to boot, but still cannot decide between SRW or DRW! As I see it now, I do not plan on pulling the trailer much if at all. Originally my intent for the trailer is to stick it into a shop and keep it there for its life. But, if life changes on me and I MUST travel, then what... I do wish to have a gooseneck for future things to pull loads, but that is still up in the air. Slowly but surely. I try to plan for the future, but does the DRW really give me that much more?

My new little "hobby"
Thanks for the heads up. Did not know LO was a beek, too! I'm registered on beesource. Lots of veterans on there and have alot of wisdom. I have watched and read an article on bee venom exposure. I think IMHO it has to do with stingers being stuck in the clothing and the stinger pumping still but pumping into nothing except the clothing absorbing the venom. There was a discussion on the idea of a periodic sting such as you suggested. Had to do with different types of antibodies that trigger the inflammatory response and the other that marks the venom as normal. I have looked into TBH, and still kicking the idea around about it and even found a good build article that uses 55gal poly barrels cut in half to make them. I will have nuc boxes ready for splits, etc. The goal is to never let them get to the point of swarming, though. I've got 4 bottles of liquid benadryl for me and the wife, and we have an appt. with the family doctor to see to get the epi-pens prescribed to us. From what I understand, some people, it gets worse for them, and others it gets better. I hope me and the wife are both the ones that fall in the latter category, lol! Actually, the africanized bees are becoming popular to those down south. The africanized bees are the only bees the people use in south america. People are finding out that the africanized are the best bee to keep. The only problem is their apt to get defensive very quickly. I would keep the africanized if they were not so defensive. Very productive bee! We just recently acquired life flight in the area at the local airport. Closest it was before, was Spokane. Lewiston is the closest to you, IIRC, Mike. I will say though, anyone can land the chopper, provided you go through their course, first. Give them the GPS coordinates of the LZ and they'll come. Life flight membership is $150 for 2 years and it covers everyone in the household! I talked to a flight nurse when I was running with the dept. and they made a presence for the annual mock DUI at the local HS and she was telling us about some pretty crazy stories about what kind of weather they have flown in and some crazy landings they have made! They are some brave people! EEK! Yea, I like to try and have some sort of pre-incident planning before I make the trek out to the middle of nowhere. One reason why it would be very important to have a life flight membership type of thing going for you in your area if you do the sort of thing... On a side note, I have not been able to get around to doing the first inspection since a week later from the nuc install. The weather liars lied again! Had thunder from a distance, wind shifted and started blowing from the north and then we got POURED on! I dunno if the bees are going to go back out and forage before dark. Its stopped raining but may be too cold for them. Might have to wait until tomorrow to do an inspection as I'm sure they would not be happy if I opened their hive up!

My new little "hobby"
As some of you may know, I got really interested in the beekeeping thing. Been working harder than a one-legged man in an rear kicking contest. I made all my own equipment for the bees and have been working on the equipment every chance I got. I had to have a bare minimum ready for my bees before I received them. I got everything done except the top lids, but the bee place had a couple they let me borrow for the time being. I received two nucleus colonies from them and did not get them home until that evening. They had quite the transport to undergo and I know it ticked them off really well! I had to run a couple errands before I went back home, as the bees were about an hour away from home, picking them up. So I was in a best buy, in the checkout line and I felt something crawling on my neck. Not once did I stop to think it could have been a bee. Instinctively swatted at it and lo and behold, a bee goes flying to the ground. Then I start getting the sudden burn. Yep, I got stung! Tried to rub the stinger out with my hood of my sweatshirt. Even asked the lady behind me if she could see a stinger in me. I bet that was a little weird, lol! So the wife was waiting out at the truck and get out to her and told her I got stung in the neck! I get in the truck and sit for a few minutes to see if anything is going to happen. Last I know of, I have not been stung since I was like 10! A few minutes pass by and I started feeling funny. Throat started feeling like it was a little hard to swallow and got dizzy and shaky. I knew my BP was starting to drop. But it suddenly stopped. Did not want to take a chance and went the direction of a store to get benadryl. Was coherent enough to still look up Anaphylaxis and know what the symptoms were. My symptoms stopped and I was a little cold feeling. Decided that since it was not getting any worse, I was just by the local fire dept. and decided to go see them and have them check me out. Well, we just so happened to be passing by a grocery store and a firetruck was there. Stopped in there and told them I got stung and needed a vitals check. I checked out fine and they said I should be good as I would have been real bad by the time I got to them. I think what happened was that I got a good adrenaline pump going and also psyched myself out with the whole situation, that I made it worse. My pulse was in the 80's with an elevated blood pressure. So, while I was at the store, I picked up some benadryl, but unfortunately, all they had was liqui-gel capsules. Took 2 capsules and felt like I had a strong drink! Needless to say, the wife drove us home... Got the nucs home after the rough ride home and got them on the hive stand. Had to open up their little entrance for the nuc box and they were MAD! One nuc was okay but the other started boiling out on me before I could get the door opened all the way! Whew! Got them open and just walked off. Had guard bees following me all the way back to the house. The following day, it was nice out and got their new homes ready for them. Took the parts out and did the transfer into their new hives. That was Sunday. So far, today, they are doing really well and very active. Usually you have to reduce the entrance down to help them in defending their hive. Well, I had to remove it last night as it was just making too much of a traffic jam for them. The dandelions have been a big thing this year, and I'm happy to see these "weeds" all over! The bees need that early year pollen and nectar to build up! We do have a few other things blooming now as well and I have been snapping pics as I can. I have to do my first inspection this weekend since the install, so I will get an idea of how they are doing. I can also definitely tell that the two hive are different in attitude. One is much more active and a little more aggressive than the other. They are italians, but I suspect there may be a little cross-genetics going on as the place I bought the bees from overwinters their 3k hives in the southern areas of the US. So they may have a little africanized traits in them. Heres some pics for enjoyment! I have a video to upload as well, but have not got around to it. I'm trying to figure out how I could compress the video down more. Its a 4gb file on my phone!

Anybody Running Dap Injectors?
...this is the type of statement I was wanting to make about the argument with the rv275 injectors and how I did not feel that if you had any HP engine lower than the 275 mark, the injectors would not make that engine automatically 275 hp. I know, off-topic, but I had to pounce on it when I saw it!

Advice needed on purchase...
When I got my truck, I had not a single soul to consult about diesel or these trucks. I paid way more than I should have and got a good shaft for repairing it too. But, I had one big learning curve to experience. I guess you could say I paid for me learning! I want to talk them out of the truck and tell them they need to keep looking. The problem is, theirs truck that they own that they want to trade is going out. Like I said, the repairs are more than the truck is worth. I dunno if they understand the concept of patience... we all know ultimately it will be their decision and whether or not they heed my words. I have not had a chance to get a better look over on it and probably wont until sometime tomorrow if they get to keep it over the weekend. So, JAG, I appreciate the offer, but hold off on that. I should also have pics up tomorrow as well...
