The logic in this...
...well, I may not have as much as a technical comment here, but can agree. Because I have read numerous times about how people put on a larger exhaust and really see no performance gains, except for lower EGT's. I plan on going to a 4" for just this reason.

So... I have a bit of a project..
Have you looked into something such as this: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/proflex-rv-flexible-sealant-bright-white/20442 Not sure if it has the same attributes as the loctite brand you mention, or not.

What to do w/ 30 gal. of Waste engine Oil?
If you burn wood for heat, add a drip system to it for more supplemental heating. Yea, but I bet the ratio is so small it does not make a big effect on how the fuel burns. The above picture is from too much oil in the fuel and the person did not filter properly. Alot of people who get into the WVO and WEO alt. fuel use "sock" filtration. Personally, if I were going to do any of it, I would invest in a centrifuge.

53 crack preventative?
Did anyone read through, my first post? Its not covering the act of repairing the crack with the lock and stitch method. They are discussing the reason to what causes the crack and how to possible prevent it. Yes, we have beaten the idea to a pulp to figure out the reason to it, and they do mention the idea of warming it up before driving. But in the first post, the link provided, they have a brace they make to keep that thermal expansion to a minimum. According to them, its not the engine mount that is the cause, its the fact the casting may be thinner there and the thermal expansion causes the crack because of the way the block heats and cools. So I suppose the answer to my question is: "No, no one has used it, to see if it is a viable preventative"...

53 crack preventative?
Well, I hear from some that with the amount of miles on my truck already, if it was going to crack, it would of happened already. Not quite sure if there is truth to that, but I think if I can improve my odds, the better. I was reading up on an he351 swap and the guy used some sort of marine epoxy stuff and coated the whole side of the block. I guess it worked really well... But, lock-n-stitch company sounds like they seem to know what they are talking about and maybe the brace they build really works? I have never heard of anyone using it, though. Thats why I'm curious...

53 crack preventative?
http://www.locknstitch.com/cummins_5_9_block.htm I'm sure many of you here have seen this page before, I do not think I have seen much discussion on their "preventative measure" though. Would this be something worth doing?

Well, I've got the 75 sticks from DAP and have not had a single problem. They were the cheapest to go with, at the time.

A rant about Verizon...
We were considering consumer cellular, because of bad reviews on straight talk. We liked the idea of it, but the idea of buying a smartphone and a decent one at that and also not having any sort of protection plan far outweighed the idea of doing it. Try consumer cellular and see if you have any coverage in your area, when you get a chance.

A rant about Verizon...
I used to keep my feature phones until the battery would literally no longer hold a charge or could literally no longer use it due to the screen, etc. I also had been struggling a while with the fact that they are all making such a big push towards the new phones. Just have to be careful not to become a zombie! Tell me about how to get rid of the line access charge. I don't understand.. I do admit, I have had cell coverage even in some deep places in the forest! I did not explain the whole story in detail as I would have typed up too much to bother reading. On a side note, call me a traditionialist when it comes to "playing the game". I forgot that the world we live in nowadays runs off of crookery and lies. As well, the rep was not a salesman, he was an AOL employee. "Assumption of Liability". If he was not equipped to fully help us grasp the plan, he should not have sold it. I'm tired of seeing people do things half-assed, then when someone has trust in them is failed by them, they do not take accountability.

A Prayer Reguest
Have you guys ever looked into what makes up the current easter day celebration? Its appalling how it has come to be, even on the days that it is on. I support the idea of recognition of our Lords doings during the time, but everything else associated with it, I cringe!

A rant about Verizon...
Maybe you fellas have great luck with them. For the most part, my experience was good. They have been my only carrier since I was old enough to have a job to pay for a phone. I have been with them for almost 9 years now. Me and the wife been kicking the idea around about a data phone. We are aware of many privacy concerns, but the allure of some things made us consider them. I could have stuck with a feature phone, but I also was tired of the idea of lugging around a phone book with me, too. We spent months deliberating on what to do. We were going to go with some smaller carriers that allowed us to do a pay as you go but also with a data plan. Would have been comparable to what our feature phone plans were. So my parents use verizon as well, asked her if she knew if verizon had a family share plan like ATT did. We were about to jump the boat and go with ATT until my mom replied back stating that verizon said they would match ATT's price plan. Okay, cool. I'll upgrade, get on in a family plan and we'll save some money! WRONG! Due to recent experiences, I'm totally turned off by their customer service! We got on a conference call to get onto the family share plan and the man was to get us on the plan that we requested. Not once did he ever tell us disclaimers or say that we were not eligible, etc. He completed it, I get my phone in, and lo and behold we were mislead! What we were supposed to be on was the EDGE plan. This is what we discussed with the guy about being on and never once said how we all had to have our phones upgraded at the same time! He said that me and my wifes phone would need to be upgraded to do it, but that was it! It was supposed to work out to $160 a month for our plan. 4 lines, $40 a person. NOPE! I got on the phone, lost precious sleep talking to reps and supervisors. I got the run around and a superficial apology! No one said ANYTHING about taking responsibility or being accountable for their snake in the grass actions! After 9 YEARS with them, I get this sort of treatment from them! I for one will no longer think or recommend them or be with them when my contract expires! Unless they redeem themselves from this, I will be looking for another carrier. Funny thing, the supervisor told me that I could return our phones and get an exchanged, JUST to get qualified for the EDGE on our two phones. I don't understand how that works as that would seem me and the wife would have to be on our own plan. I can't back out of the contract now even though I have 14 days. As the moment you break the seal on the package, its a $35 restocking FEE! I'm not paying $70 just because I put a hole in plastic! My mother is highly disappointed in this as well as it was me, her and my wife listening to this conference call with this rep. and we all know what was said and what was to be done. But no one there wants to get up off their asses and do something! What has happened to customer service? Needless to say, fellas, the moral of the story is: Politicians, lawyers, salesmen and Verizon are all snakes in the grass! Find someone else to do business with!

Need input from the farmers...
Well, fellas, last weekend I went and rented a 4' drag and and a spreader. It was an interesting learning experience using that drag. I believe my ATV is only 250cc, an the 4' was almost too much for it! I had the oil temp. light come on a few times. Pulled it around in second gear. Took quit a while using a 4' but was fortunate to get the wife on the sit-down lawn mower and pull the spreader around with it as I drug. We put down 175lb. of seed. We tried our best to dial the spreader down to keep the seed from spreading so hard but did not have a huge amount of luck doing it. I think we maybe gained an acre. The ground was still plenty wet. No standing water or anything, but, because of the amount of clay in our area, we have a very shallow water table. Although, this field has not been worked in who knows how long. I would estimate around a decade! The ground was real hard. The wife gave me the bright idea of putting some sandbags on the harrow to give it more bite and break it up. Took 6 60lb bags out to the atv in the field with the truck and made nothing but a mess! Once I got out into the softer area the truck just sank into the ground and got stuck good! Even in 4lo! Stuck all the wood I could into the deep ruts to get it out and still needed another truck to yank it out! I was very close to becoming permanently stuck, as I was up to the front differential! This week, we've had plenty of rain to get the seeds to germinate. Tim will tell if it works well, or not! I'm excited to see it go from what it is now, to a field of good clover and covered in bees!

Govt In Nevada Taking Mans Land and Cattle
We owe debt to foreigns. Because of our politicians, this is why. The AMERICAN people don't owe SQUAT, IMO. Despite any politician signing over any of our land, I for ONE will never allow another country's flag to occupy ours like this manner. You want it our land? Your going to have to fight me for it! A couple years ago, I learned about a statement saying that there was a chinese land grab down in southern ID. It was going to essentially become a small piece of China and they were going to build a small city there and have a fertilizer plant.

Suggestion's for upgrade's for Heavy 5th wheel towing?
Try: http://www.airliftcompany.com/ http://catscale.com/cat-scale-locator/map ^Depenind on where you live, you may be able to find one. I think a good tow rig needs to be able to get the load going, get it stop, safely, and handle the load. Look into an exhaust brake. Good thing about that, you have a manual. So that should not be into more than $1k for one. Look into bilstein shocks. I also hear ranchos may be good. Look into timbrens for bumpstops.

16% grade
Okay, also, I'm not sure if this is a related thing, but I put the truck in 4lo to pull a utility trailer loaded down and truck too, to go hunting in the mountains. Alot of slow driving in 1st, 2nd gear. So like I said, I had it in 4lo, because I quickly found that the lack of lockup created heat issues for the tranny. Upon descent from the mountain in 4lo, it almost felt like I had a 2nd gear lockup? I know thats not true, but I let off the fuel peddle and about 2 seconds later, I immediately starting slow down very quickly. Can someone explain why this is so?

I ALMOST found that one out the hard way when I first got my trailer! Whew!

Govt In Nevada Taking Mans Land and Cattle
In response to this article: http://www.prisonplanet.com/will-feds-stage-violence-to-frame-cliven-bundy.html ...someone tell me how the govt. can step in with their TEETH showing in relation to this situation, but yet, the american populace is advised not to do the same. With W&F's post earlier about the commissioner saying that people are asking to be killed by showing up armed tells me that it is just another ploy to show a dominance. I think EVERY protest needs to have teeth present. These people going down there being herded themselves like the cattle into speech zones are just not getting it. The govt. is showing they mean business doing this, we need to show them we mean business too! It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. I certainly hope that the locals will unite and show the govt. that it they are willing to turn this into a bloodbath, the rest of us are not going to let them get away with it.
