Career Change.... Whats It Like As Rv Salesperson?
Thats what urks me about my setup... I did some research on what I could tow and then tried to get advice from the RV dealer. We looked it over and came to the conclusion on how much I could tow. I know part of it IS my fault, but thats still besides the point that they would let me pull off the lot with it, knowing full well that I push the limits. I can't do anything about now as I would be upside down in the trailer until about 7-10 years down the road. Yea, these cummins ARE great trucks, but don't let a guy think he can pull out of the lot with a triple axle using a 3/4 ton... PS I know there is a method on how a dealer receives a trailer and that there is a process to accepting it to be readied on a lot, but IMHO, you as the salesman represent the whole face to the company. I don't mean to put pressure on you, but I can tell you that even things that happen out of your control and legitimately are, will still fall back on you. In which case, you have to be that guy that can take a call from your previous customer at any time to answer a question or concern. I personally would, as I know they ultimately are the ones who paid me and made it possible to put food on my table. What I mean to say by the above, is that for example, and this is all I can use for an example as I've only been the only person in my family to own a trailer; is that when I received my trailer, there were certain things that needed fixing and was overlooked on my trailer. I should have NEVER received it in the condition that it was in. Sure it was all brand new, but when I got a leaking jack, window foam falling out, awning problems, etc. It should have never left the lot! meh, I guess what I'm trying to say is, make sure to take ALOT of pride in your work. I'm sure you have to have something though, as you said you were man of business! Put your heart and soul into this job like you have before and you should do great!

...Now clean your truck!- Career Change.... Whats It Like As Rv Salesperson?
As being a person on the receiving end of buying the RV, I can give you this advice: 1. Be as truthful as possible to your customer and do NOT tell even a "white" lie! 2. If your customer has a question, do not find out the answer, find more than just the answer! 3. Treat the customer as if they were your family. 4. When you make a sale, remember their name and don't brush them off to the side! I have gone to waaay to mean dealerships, car lots and have felt VERY uncomfortable with the sales people to even consider buying anything! The lack of professionalism has flown STRAIGHT out the window with so many. I have witnessed sales people cracking a beer open right in front of me drinking it on the job! Not to mention the ones who can't seem to dress seriously and/or even speak without profanity. Its absurd at times! I have also have been called a liar on a few occasions with some things because they had to CYA. I personally think that if you are a man that has high morals and ethics and put your customers first, you may not be the top salesman initially, but I'm willing to bet that you will have customers who will value your quality approach! My salesman who I bought my RV from left such a terrible taste in my mouth after he made the sale, I probably would spit in his face if I ever saw him! He acted like he knew what he was talking about, but after the sale was finalized, I was a nobody to him and he would not even try and help me with anything after that. ...yep, it was a bit of a learning curve for me. :banghead: BTW, my father knew a lady from his work and her husband was a car salesman. I bought my 2nd vehicle from that man, and still to this day, if I were to consider a new or newer used vehicle, he would be the FIRST person I would go to! He may be a salesman, in which I tend to lump into the category of politicians and lawyers, but atleast he does a good job at making me feel like I'm walking out a winner!- 300K

...and did you marry a rooshky? A little off-topic, but when I was youth, we had russians all over in our local neighborhood. It was like a mafia, but with kids. Got pretty crazy at times! So in our youthful thinking, we had done alot of different things. Boy, from throwing bologna on their cars to "sh!t bombs", wiping things under their door handles, lighting fireworks and aiming them at them, peeing on their stuff, the list does not end! We given some good beatings and taken some good beatings. Sometimes a little serious, too! Boy, those were the days... Then I ended up dating a russian for a few months when I was older. HA! That was a joke. She'd talk in russian in front of me and I'd never know what her and her friends said. I consider it to be rude, but to them, I guess not. As well, even though its a good thing they have a culture of family, it also means that if your not a russian, they usually do not want anything to do with you! My relations with the Russians, have been bittersweet!- Lift Pump
ANOTHER thought... I have read about people ending up having 2 lift pumps on their truck and did not know it. Some of these trucks had an in-tank lift pump and some have one mounted to the block under the OEM fuel filter canister. IIRC, when one failed, the other had to work harder to provide the fuel, and sometimes exhibited the same symptoms you do. I know that can complicate things as you would need to find out if you had an in-tank lift pump. Although, if you are doing a new sending unit, you would find out... You want to invest in a fuel pressure gauge and an aftermarket lift pump, as the bare minimum for these trucks. If you do not plan on ever doing anything with the truck except driving it to point A to B, that would be the very least I would do to the truck. Like stated before, the VP44 or injection pump needs a good pressure and flow of fuel to keep it in good working order. The stock lift pump is the weakest part of the whole system. It does not supply the injection pump like it should and causes accelerated wear to the pump. An aftermarket lift pump will provide the proper pressure, flow, and fuel without air. Without proper pressures and flow, the injection pump does not receive enough fuel to keep the pump cool and lubricated. When the fuel also has air, cavitation occurs and you see damage from metal on metal wear. Pressures should never go below 10psi but ideally never below 14psi. The pressure should also never exceed 20psi. This has become the consensus here through much research and trial, error. IMHO, I have never used the FASS system, but only the Airdog. My first pump from AD burned out on me in less than a year. I think it was because I got their inferiorly designed pump. But after a no questions asked replacement, I have not had a problem since. I believe it was a hiccup in their pump design, but I'm willing to bet, they have fixed it and are back on track. If it were me, and I could do it over again, I personally would go with a mechanical system. Like stated above, the GDP or DTT are the ones offered. IIRC, I believe people preferred the DTT over the GDP though. With this system, the pressures increase as the RPM's increase instead of the pressure decrease as the RPM's increase, like the electrical. Skimping on a good lift pump and staying with the OEM lift pump, its only a matter of time until that injection pump goes out and your looking at an approximate $1000 repair!- Windy Heeeerrrrreeee..

I know what you mean. I have not fasted much, but when I have, me and the wife did a 24 hour fast. No food, just water. It was a bit difficult to do, but we noticed a few things: 1. We did not actually get very fatigued from doing it 2. The hunger pain did not get any worse than when it first comes. 3. It felt very different to eat again. Sometimes we really can live off of the word!- Low Temps And Now Power?
What?- Lift Pump
You are going to want to get rid of the OEM lift pump setup as soon as possible... get ahold of some sort of aftermarket lift pump.- New injectors, possibly this weekend..

...like so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGwcRkrU5R0- Bhaf For Mpg
Even with pulling my trailer on a steep grade for miles, getting EVERYTHING hot pullin, I do not have any signs that it burnt the outerwear or anything. I do not think its likely it would happen, as your fan should be pulling alot of air through the bay that would keep those temps down. I do not have a shield either. I could take pics of how I did mine...- Bhaf For Mpg
I picked up some felt like fabric from the fabric store and cut the pieces out and had my MIL sow them up! Even have a hole on the end for the filter minder and use some 550 cord to tighten the outerwear over the filter. I think it works great! To this day, my BHAF looks like its still brand new! I had enough material to make 2, so I think I should be good for a while!- A Potential Revolution Taking Place Already...
Laying in bed, just doing a little channel surfing, I happened upon BBC covering this issue. EXCEPT, they also covered the fact HK has been doing some dealin'! I just googled it and pulled this link for an article covering it: http://servingdope.com/heckler-koch-admits-it-illegally-sold-more-than-9000-rifles-in-mexico/ BBC reports that some of the townsfolk acquired these rifles, but did not say how.- Might have stacked tuners!!! ...you know, I was at my local NAPA buying parts one time, she noticed I had a diesel truck. So she asks me, "Do you want to buy some exhaust fluid? Its on sale right now, for a really great price!" I retort, "What? Yea, lady and I think I need a bottle of blinker fluid, too!" She says, "No, really, look!" ...and thats when I found out that there REALLY was exhaust fluid! Who woulda thunk! ..it seemed pretty darn funny to me at the time! So I had to have her explain to me how it worked. Wow...- Windy Heeeerrrrreeee..
