  1. On a side note, did you get your money yet? ALSO, the CEL came on twice now and I took it to o'reilly's and put on a code reader. P0234 P0237 I thought the edge was supposed to keep it from happening?
  2. If it came with a warranty card, get it in! If it came with instructions, read ALL of it FIRST, then start at step 1. Be very careful with any bolts or fittings. I've had one break on me before and I was lucky to get it extracted. The base plate is an expensive replacement, too!
  3. Ehhh! So lets see, 4 days of fire fightin', how many man hours you put in?Are you a combi-paid volunteer, paid per call, hourly, etc? Now, divide that by how many hours you volunteered, and then account for any personal expenses. :ahhh:Looks like you had fun moppin' up!
  4. Yeaa... good thought and all, but man its so tempting to romp on it. I'd probably be electrocuted somehow. Whats the banks and how does it work? You ought to look into the comp! I still cannot grasp what a slipping convertor sounds/feels like.. As for temps, we shall see. I did not goose it very much at all. Maybe I will try doing it on an on-ramp or something someday to see what she has in her... My biggest concern is the catastrophic failur of something without notice and snapping a shaft or blowing a flexplate, etc...
  5. This is an official thread to 98 to give proper feedback. Sold me an edge comp and went off with out a hitch! He was very patient with me and waited longer than I thought anyone would ever be willing to. Regardless, a straight man to deal with and would trust! I got the comp in the mail before I even managed to get my money order in the mail!BTW, 98, it is in the mail, should be there soon!
  6. The rule of law has adminstered, so people will too, now. Zimmerman, acquited according to language of law. Its not ours to decide innocent or guilty.Yet, now as predicted we see, NOT, protestors, but RIOTERS. They call them protestors, but we can clearly see they are carrying actions out in a riot fashion. GO FIGURE... Whats even become more striking is what color of skin is doing it. Not being a racist, but observant.Needless to say, they are people who want a reason to cause destruction and really have no legitimate ties to the trial or family. What people will use for a scapegoat... :rolleyes:Time to lock n' load!
  7. I think you will be okay. IIRC when I called to get a replacement pump the guy told me they were having problems with the pumps doing what they were doing like mine did. So they came out with a better version of the pump and thats what they sent me. Seems like it must be a keeper as I've had no troubles, yet! Knock on wood!
  8. WELL, I put the comp in! :hyper:Took me about an hour or so to put it in. Already had a few things ready for me as I once had one before...WOW! :burnout:I took the wife out to splurge real quick on 5x5. Hit the highway and did not even need to open her all the way up!Wife was shocked by the power and got stuck in her seat. Went from about 30mph to 65mph in NO TIME! :lmao:Yep, I dunno what I was thinking to get rid of mine the first time! Trans handled it really well. Left a good cloud of coal too!Once I got the smile wiped off my face, I took the box out of the truck to fight the temptation! :lol:Once I can get myself under control and figure out what I should run for a daily setting I'll put it back in. I need to pick some velcro up to mount it too so thats another factor.I'm curious as to see what the diff. it will make pulling the trailer...Just off of the power mods I got, I would be at 425hp on 5x5! Wheeeewe! I can get into trouble with this... I did not even look to see what my boost got up to either. Had to stay straight on the road.
  9. The tranny is built up now to what is in my sig.I've been reading a little and it sounds like I can keep the vp44 untapped and run it like that. Said its equivalent to running an edge ez.But, what I'm wondering is if whether or not my tranny as it sits now can handle the comp on full settings? I'm obviously not going to be racing the truck around or romping the throttle, etc. I mainly need the extra power for pullin the trailer. It is only occassionally I pull it as well. If I can reap any benefits from the comp on a daily basis like MPG numbers, etc. I would like to know how.It sounds mostly like I just need to use self control with the right foot... But hey, I don't know it all and I know there are others out there that can give me a solid answer.
  10. I'm confused as to why they do not list a GVW or Cargo capacity rating. That being said, if I had that weight for my 5th wheel, I would not even look back. Although, I'm not necessarily stock, either. You have a manual although, so your sitting better than me in the trans. dept.If your going to be a stickler and want something that will be under spec ratings, it will probably be over when the trailer is grossed out. If you look at what beastly thing I pull on occassion, it would probably make you feel more confident in pulling this one your looking at. Take a look at the trailer, in my sig.Is it over ratings? Mostly... Is it necessarily safe? Pushing the limits... Does the truck do it? YEP. But I sure as heck would get a better truck if I had the chance...Stopping is becoming the biggest challenge. I'm eyeing an exhaust brake, but priorities can be a tricky thing.
  11. As I read, seeing you say 10 acres I was taken aback initially. Wondering as I looked at your 1st post, why it would take 2 days to mop up a 10 acre fire. But as we can read, theres more to the story! Sounds like a good time! I can vouche for ya. I know how those calls can be when going to a fire and spending alot of time fighting it. Obviously, I never fought wildfires, but structure fires can be just as drawn out... I remember spending approx. 8-12 hours on a fire nonstop. So, from one firefighter to another, thanks for serving! Cause we both know, its a service we chose to volunteer for and make that sacrifice, for free.
  12. Hey guys, got me an edge comp, again! 98whitelightnin had an edge comp left over after his p7100 swap and was patient enough to wait for me to get the funds to him to get it from him! Shout out to you, buddy! :hyper:I have a couple questions for the rest of you guys' though.1. The box is a gold color. I'm confused? The one I used to own was a black color. Does this mean anything?2. I got rid of my edge comp after I rebuilt my tranny. Trans shop owner told me to get rid of it as I will smoke my tranny if I use it again. Although after reading, I kicked myself for getting rid of it as it showed to benefit me.But now, after having the tranny rebuilt and pulling my toyhauler, I'm wondering if buying it could still be a bad idea. I do not want to ruin my tranny just to gain some power to pull the trailer better. Edge's manual says not to exceed level 2 when pulling, which I won't. But any other time, what is a good setting if at all?I read 5x5 as being best for MPG, but what do you guys think?
  13. Break out the pulaski and get to cuttin' that line!
  14. Hmm? I wear a Kimber .45 4" in an OWB holster on the belt and only need an XL shirt to cover it.
  15. Uhhh, wow! Sounds like you need to stay away from it! Looks like bad luck written all over it now...
  16. Interior such as any cloth etc, would be ruined, for my guess. Fluids need replaced, etc... I would seriously look into taking every drain cap, plug, etc. out or off and drain all fluids, even steering fluid and brake fluid. Keep it all open and get to an auto body shop. Pay to have it in their spray booth for as long as possible and hot as possible on their bake setting. Those booths can get to around 150 degrees IIRC! That would seriously do some drying!
  17. I had mine spliced. I never had problems with it like that but I would take extra precautions. Such as a di-electric grease, shrink wrap, or a brush on electrical connection sealant.
  18. So its been happening more often now. I've counted a few times this week now. Hot or cold it happens. Is it the starter contacts or something worse? If its the contacts where do I get them? I've got a cummins parts dealer a block away!
  19. Have you seen the texting dates!?
  20. I had this happen to me with my 165. If there are no debris in the gears, then the pump is bad. I called airdog and told them. I had my warranty card sent in when I got it, so I never got an eye bat. Guy sent me a new pump and I installed it. Took the old one apart and the seal to the motor failed and diesel fuel got inside and ruined it.
  21. Me being one of those fellows that do live in the PNW, I can safely say it would be a great idea to move here. No area is obviously going to be perfect. BUT, I would not have it any other way. It really depends on what you are trying to achieve by moving here. If I was a wealthy person and had one choice of an area to live, it would be North ID. If you are not so much that person, have a family and still need to make a living, your work experience, skills, education are going to make a huge impact on whats possible for you. WA: West coast sucks, IMO. I know too much to even set foot there. You will make more there, have a good job, more than likely, will have an expensive house, etc. But you will also have to deal with the big city lifestyle and people. East WA, conservative minded people, jobs are decent, housing is decent, and people are not terrible. I grew up in Spokane and its got its problems like any other. In the past years though, economy has affected people and crime has gone up. Area is more congested since I moved from there. Living outside the Spokane area, like 10 miles or more will improve things drastically. You can still commute to work if you want and can get out of the Spokane city life. Traffic is not terrible and rush hours are not stop and go. As long as you avoid certain roads. Idaho: I can't say anything about Southern ID, but I can say some about N ID. CDA area is good and Post falls as well. Enjoy lake CDA and a mid-sized area. Crime is not terrible, nor is people. Enjoy the liberties provided by ID. Jobs are not as great nor is employment. Where I live now, Sandpoint, area is next largest in N ID. Geography is great. Lakes, rivers, streams and a country lifestyle. Employment is not great. Pay is terrible. ID minimum wage is $7/hr IIRC. Cost of living is not terrible. Really it boils down to what kind of lifestyle you want to live, what sacrifices you want to make, etc. Personally, I love the small town area, I love the geography, etc. Crime is not bad, people are not bad. Only thing I can complain about here is Jobs and pay. Hence why I have a 5th wheel and travel for work. WA does NOT have income tax, nor grocery taxes. ID DOES have income tax AND grocery tax. WA had cigarette and liquor tax. ID DOES NOT. If you don't want a country life but a smaller city life but still get the chance at decent pay and jobs, I would live in Post Falls. Next to the WA state line. Enjoy ID life but also enjoy the jobs and pay E WA can offer that ID does not. The sky is the limit I guess...
