Another VP dying?
The original VP44 lasted 233k miles with the stock and then a DELPHI HFP923 fuel pump, and no fuel pressure gauge. I put the gauge on it and replaced the VP after it seized up after running dry on fuel. Damn sending unit stuck at 3/8 and I only noticed 1mi before running dry that I was at 636mi on the tank. I bought the pump with a brand new computer not a used one. Did dodge ever increase the fuel pressure to the VP with any of it's repairs/upgrades? I'm not saying low pressure didn't cause it but 233k on a bone stock system is not unacceptable. I've been running WIX/Napa Gold fuel filters. Is there anything else to test/do/fix or just wait for it to get worse? It just seemed strange that changing gears made it work again if it's a mechanical issue.

Another VP dying?
This week I've had a few times where I'm doing around 65mph on the highway and I hit the pedal to accelerate, and nothing happens. The engine sound might change a tiny bit but I can't accelerate at all. if I mash or get off the pedal and back on it doesn't let me go any faster. Quadzilla doesn't show anything strange, except that my throttle position changes with the pedal push. If I downshift for a sec and then go back into 6th everything is fine. Today I pulled the codes for the first time and got P0216. I'll have to check and see if it comes back. There was one odd thing 2 weeks ago when I changed the fuel filter, the next day it took about 6s to start vs the near instant it usually is. I put 2-cycle oil in the fuel for the first time in a year or so as well, just before it started acting up. I really hope the VP isn't dying, as it's only got 56k miles on it. I bought it Aug 2012 and don't drive it a ton until recently. It was BlueChip's Premium Upgraded HO pump. Fuel pressure has been 10-14psi.

What NV5600 fluids are yall running?
You don't have to. You can pay full retail price if you want. At least you have the option of paying wholesale, unlike other brands where you almost never get a wholesale price. There's a few stores that sell amsoil and it's right up there with royal purple prices… or I can place a big order for far cheaper online.

FWIW, my civic uses synchromesh or Honda MTF, the manual also states it can run on 10w-30 but it's not recommended. I'd run synchromesh no matter who makes it and nothing else. I personally use amsoil, you can get it wholesale if you pay a few $$ for the discount. Luckily they have a warehouse in Lancaster a little over an hour from me.

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
If it was losing power it would reset to level 0 and the turbo timer would not work. Also it used to work, and it doesn’t reset on the app being force quit and reopened so it is something with the box

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
Anyone know when the gallon trip first appeared?

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
No the power level stays at 3 and the turbo cool down timer works if I set it. I’d be happy to send the unit to you if you have a loaner to swap with if you want to diagnose it. The thing is it used to work but I think it was on a previous version maybe 2.8.3? I don’t see those available for download so I can’t downgrade to test.

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
I’ve been running 2.8.4 since September. I even tried re-flashing it last month but there was no change. Does anyone have the earlier releases I can test with?

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
@Quadzilla Power The more I think about it the less I’m sure that it is the app doing the reset. I can “force quit end of re-open the app many times and it does not normally reset the gallon trip. If I start my truck and drive a few miles and then turn on the tablet and open the app it also shows a quarter gallon being used already. It seems to be something in the firmware not saving the value between power cycles. As soon as I turn the key off and then back on it resets to zero. I’ve also seen it very rarely reset while I’m driving but that is rare.

Any chance you need help testing a new app version?

Fuel Pressure High!
That’s what happen with mine. It’s slowly read higher and higher until it pegged at 100 psi and leaked fuel

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
I have the Google play store installed. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, re-flashing, trying the quadzilla Dev profile version changing the toggle and offset and I can’t get it to not reset. I’m not sure how things move under the hood but why not have the quad count how much fuel but only have the app used to offset for display. There should be no need to change or reset the trip fuel if you change the offset

Gallon Trip reset every power cycle
I've seen this mentioned in other threads, but has anyone looked into it yet? It seems ever key-on the gallon trip is reset no matter what the toggle in the iQuad app is. I tried reinstalling the app from the PlayStore, and I have the adjustment set at 140%. It was set at 135% as well and was doing it. When I first had the feature it was all default and wasn't resetting. I actually had a hard time figuring out how to reset it at first. I just went for a drive and did a pretty quick key off while I was going down the road, and as soon as the key was back on the gallons were reset back to 0. iQuad app didn't go through it's long connection setup either. Anything else I can try? Want to borrow my unit to check? Turbo countdown works fine when I remove my key so I don't think it's a power issue.

Preferred U-Joints
I will always go with the sealed from now on. I replaced my u-joints at 270,000 miles because I was replacing the carrier support bearing and they were 17 years old but there was not a single dry cap in the rear driveshaft. The front driveshaft did have a dry u-joint around the same time though. As said before they are slightly stronger because there’s no hole drilled in the center and the seals are far better because the greaser ones have to let the grease out but unfortunately they do let the contamination in as well

A/C blower conversion
I researched this a couple years ago and same thing I couldn’t find any better options.

crazy fuel pressure & engine speeds
So what did you do to move it, just get some ends and a length of fuel line? Do you think a small line would help to even out the pulses since it would stretch/absorb more? I just ordered a new sensor, gotta love eBay sales, I got 15% off :-)

Black Smoke - Normal? If not where to start looking?
Ah yeah hybrid. That's why I was thinking 2x. I'm working close to home now so lots more lights/stop & go vs cursing at 50-70 for an hour so maybe I just notice it more. 1k-1200rpm is just a bit smokey. I really need to get a tap for my EGT sensor so I can use your high timing tune.

Testing Injector Pop Pressure in the real world
So would a safe bet be get pop pressure set to 330 and have it drop to 320 or so? DD with hauling wood/dirt here and there…

Black Smoke - Normal? If not where to start looking?
I've been noticing my truck is a bit smoky with the go pedal at lower RPMs right after a shift. I thought maybe it was @Mopar1973Man's econo tune… I have stock turbo and i think he has twins now… I have the same new injectors from DAP that he has though.

Fuel economy on iQuad
How do you reset the trip mpg? Haven't figured that one out yet.

Mixing Grease
I really like the amsoil grease, it's been great and lasted a long time without issues. I'm also lucky there's a warehouse not too too far away.

Quadzilla Adrenaline Economy and MPG
I have 4.10 gears I wish it was 3.73… with my 275/85/17s I could get some decent OD rpms on the highway :-) Hey what does DAP charge to up the pop pressure? Wonder if it's worth sending them back for it Hey what does DAP charge to up the pop pressure? Wonder if it's worth sending them back for it
