  1. I've been wanted to get one for general use but not wanting to spend a lot. Present vehicles are the 01 Dodge, 87 Cirrus, 12 Hundai... With HF, never pay list price... got it on sale for $50. I'm willing to look up codes on line. After the stealership read my codes, charged me for it & then said "there weren't any"... I decided I needed to read my own codes.
  2. I often leave the keys in the switch when working on or around it... I unlock BOTH sides... I pull the keys part out to stop the 'ding-ding'. Has to be off to do that. Just don't bump the door plunger getting out.
  3. This is an all too common screw up... I wonder what the outcome has been on this one.
  4. Thanks,I'll check it out & see what I can find. A decent day would help a bunch!
  5. I stuck new bulbs in but it's still out. Bulbs old & both new in pack test good. Is there a way to test this circuit by myself (without risking running myself over that is)?The passenger's side works. Does this prove the fuse & forward wiring are good? (IE Does the harness run together to the back?)
  6. Just months ago, heartbreakingly another Nightclub Fire Brazil in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss_nightclub_fire 241 killed... 168 injured... 2004Buenos Aires, Argentina http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rep%C3%BAblica_Croma%C3%B1%C3%B3n_nightclub_fire Lame Horse Fire Russia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lame_Horse_fire In fact there are many more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nightclub_fires There are many other hazzards, often the gut feeling is all the warning we get. Sometimes we don't even get that! A lot of B&Es link back to someone who has legitimate reason to be there... who either return to Burgarlize themselves or they talk to someone else who does so. Don't let strangers use the bathroom where your meds are. A MS friend had a prescription go missing & had to destroy a long friendship with the SO of the thief... thief returned them after confrontation & took off... BF went after her!! This was a trusted 'friend'. If you let a stranger use your bathroom, check your doors & windows to be sure they are still locked. Be careful who you give access to your property. I used to give tours of my gun safe to new friends... I don't do so any more. I remember in my 20s I had a young new friend to my room. I never saw him take an item but there were 3 collectable diver's weights from the earliest days of skin diving... 2 after he left. And my Mom lost something as well. He was the only person I ever had upstairs in the house.
  7. Sure beats what a buddie did... a motor failed in his old Chris Craft... The only thing that stopped the connecting rods from going through the bottom of the boat was the cast oil pan which was totally destroyed. Lap strake planking not much for containing explosions.I was with somebody & didn't want to freak out with witnesses. You know, now that I think about it, I DID see something fly by my driver's side rear view mirror on the highway... OK I was speeding... I had no idea what it was. Mystery solved. I'll lift the hood in the daylight tomorrow.
  8. It's square-ish. I could have sworn there was a windshield washer nozzle in the this morning. What now?
  9. Check the FIRE EXITS & alternatives! Remember the Station Nightclub Fire happened just down the road from me. 100 dead, 230 injured, many horribly burned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Station_nightclub_fire (Video of point of ignition) WARNING: Very hard to watch! http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOzfq9Egxeo
  10. I could use a magic fix for the vacume actuator!!
  11. 10-4! 3rd Gen. Still no help for us first gen guys when the vacume diverter door is in default.
  12. Cold Air intakes come from the non-turbo gas engines / racing... where they do work. I like them but they don't work on intercooled turbo diesels. As diesels are compression (heat) fired the intake is actually water jacketed to warm the charge.
  13. It apears Heater Treater has had new parts made as the original HT parts had a home made look to them, though they were functional. There is an earlier threat here on this. It is done from the passenger's foot well without dash removal.Unfortunartely it does not (apparently) repair the vacume actuated output control located to the right of the driver's foot. I don't believe anyone has been able to fix that in place without dash removal. If the output control fails, the default mode is DEFROST.
  14. I feel for ya! When things screw up they often start a run of crap... Sometimes I walk away. Just fix the hang up & wait to do the original job. Even just taking a break & starting over & rechecking everything. Anybody who's done anything has done it.
  15. When I was workng as a boat yard mechanic... I could work on others engines all day long. Come quitting time I had no patience for my own... It had just better run. I was too close to it.
  16. I don't know about air dams... redesign to lower bumpers was because of Federal Crash Regulations.
  17. I like the bracket!
  18. You will find that your stock exhaust is only 3" to the muffler, the tailpipe is less. The FTE resonator is not listed for 3". http://www.ftediesel.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=7 With my Chevy gasser Heavy Hauler... built 454 sounded great running empty... headers & glass placks... but I think the horses were getting deaf!! So I put a pair of truck mufflers (duals) in & quieted it right down. The key it not killing the performance was to go oversize on the muffler & tailpipe. By the time I did my exhaust, on the Cummins, the tailpipe had rotted out & the back of the muffler was open. I bought a 4" SS kit off ebay... the muffler was straight through... essencially a huge glass pack. (Sounded good running empty but again not suitable for towing heavy.) So I added the 4" SS FTE resonator. It would have been preferable to do it all at once... I've always wondered if I'd have been better off to delete the silly "muffler" and install 2 of the FTE units.
  19. I love my exhaust... listed in my signature... It's all SS, hope to never buy another one! Someone already posted about a Donaldson big truck muffler.
  20. While you are installing the on engine lift pump & have to bleed the system anyways... Did you replaced the tiny banjo fittings with the larger holes or drill the OEM out?
  21. Now you are going to make me go look! Mine's 2001.5...
  22. Drat! I didn't save the link. I was looking for something else when I saw it.
  23. Unless I was along side Mike's mailbox!
  24. I don't think there's room behind the grill with the Cummins, unless you find something really thin. Maybe LED? Mike's gasser has lights behind the grill. The Diesel has them under the front. I wouldn't want to swear to it but I think my old Hella halogens were thin but that was 100 years ago.
  25. My 01.5 fog lights are pretty worthless... just a crappy decorative light. Low power, crappy lens & reflector. The bulbs for mine were not cheap. I see an LED conversion for my era that I might consider... My classic fogs on my RoadRunner were off road H1 halogen... with a low wide beam.
